Guys, feeling 2 small issues with the FZ, its just a few days old, 260kms on the odo.
The starter seems to be taking some time to start the bike, i mean, i need to give a bit prolonged press to get it started and the sound of the starter motor also isn't feeling right. First i thought it was the cold start issue, as it used to get off as soon as i start the bike in the mornings, but then i adjusted the idle rpm and that issue was resolved when i used the choke while starting too, but still the duration of pressing the starter i think is more. Any input guys ?
Also, i have a weird feeling that the front forks are rebounding a lot, the rear shock is fine, no issues, but the front forks seems to be rebounding a lot, is it a common behaviour or is there something i can do about it ?
Cheers

slack is about 3cm - 4cm. u can a do by yourself by turning drive chain slack adjustment nut. turn it anticlockwise to loosen the chain or turn it clockwise to tighten. Before that u need to loosen the axle nut, brake rod nut. I think its a complicated work you can to a garage for adjustments.
I also use kerosene to clean the chain and lube the chain after one day. Lube i use is motul chain lube.

At morning the idle rpm was 1k only, slightly increased it to 1.25 between 1 and 1.5(i find this digital tacho a pain to work with),and after some 30kms riding, when i checked the idle rpm it was a tad above 1.5
None of my friends have an FZ , i never felt this kinda rebound on my 220 or yamaha crux in the same route.
Cheers

Yes they have started it recently.. However, i feel if you want to get paint protection coat.. go to a 3M dealer and get it done.. go to 3M india website for dealer details.Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Postguys...... is it gud to get a teflon coating for my bike??? the guy in Kamala Yamaha asked me whether to go for it.... will they b doing it properly?? i heard some ppl cheat......they just polish nd give nd charge u upto 1000 bucks for it...... i seriously dnt know if coating is necessary......how much will it cost??? Digital tacho is a pain. What I usually do is, when the bike is dead cold set the idle a tad above 1k(the block after 1k would go on and off). And that'd be fine, when moderately hot it'd go somewhere between 1.25k~1.5k and when extremely hot the bar above 1.5k would go on and off.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostAt morning the idle rpm was 1k only, slightly increased it to 1.25 between 1 and 1.5(i find this digital tacho a pain to work with),and after some 30kms riding, when i checked the idle rpm it was a tad above 1.5

I suggest that you ride the bike for say 5kms and then check the idle rpm reading and then you can set it to 1.4k.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostDigital tacho is a pain. Link to this post added to post #1Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
