sorry for the late reply. I hope the following instructions from the Yamaha service manual shall clear things out for you :

If you notice the torque ranges are very specifically mentioned on the service manual. unfortunately most of the SVCs just fix up and tighten the lower ring nut without using a torque wrench and most of the times end up overtorquing it.. which results in the coneset going kaput in a very very short notice. If you have got the lower nut tightened again, i would still recommend getting hold of a torque wrench and following the proper process otherwise, after a few kms it will become undone and the "khat" noise will be back to haunt you.

    Cheers,
Thanks a lot shv18 for the attached pics. By the way,I am extremely sure that the Lock Washer Nut marked 1,has never been present in my bike, since my purchase.I will try to find it in spares shop.maybe that is the reason.will get hold of a torque wrench and get the work done.by the way,how to check cone set for damage? Will be visiting svc today itself.

Guys, i have opted for Extended Warranty and would like to seek some clarity for the same. I understand that, the parts mentioned in the booklet will be covered. But, will they be replaced free of cost or i have to pay full charge? On what basis will they be changed? I have put a mail to Yamaha, but haven't received any reply from them till now.

      Cheerz!!

After the regular warranty period is expired, the extended warranty time starts, the parts that you can get changed in extended warranty are specified in the booklet as you mentioned. So only those items can be changed if any damage is caused. And as warranty signifies, it will be free of charge.
The basis of changing is same as that for normal warranty claims, if they find the part to be hitting all requirements of a unnatural wear and tear or damage they will cahnge it.

        Cheers

Just wanted to remind you that you will need to cover your paid services also in proper intervals in order to claim the extended warranty.

He said there is no stock of 140/70 revz he insisted me to have r15 v2 rear tire which is readily available it is same as fz16 but its little less in size since my rear tire had 10 punctures in week i had no option other than accept that offer it costed 3kINR including fitting i thought it would be end of my problems but its whole new beginning of new problems
              1. After 2 days i observed height of rear is increased which throws load on wrist (i felt like sitting on an apache)
              2. This is main reason made to start this thread the pickup of bike is abnormal its behaves quite different .I observed when i started a race with my buddies fz & r15
coz the mid range torque of my fz had completely disappeared i was shocked when my friend is a moving like vroom beating me but its story only up to 70kmph
after that i got punchy torque which took me 82 to 107 kmph in no time i was surprised to know the torque is just shifted its rpm range is this possible am i still dreaming

pls let me know how it happened or what really all this is

              Thanking xbph
Yes, all your problems are in fact a reality.
Even I replaced my rear tyre recently with a Ceat 130/80 - 17 one. Yours must be MRF 130/70 - 17 revz.
The first problem you shared was faced by me also. I have decided to change the handlebar with that of SZ-R's.

Hopefully that will help. it costs 200 bucks
Your mid range torque has shifted towards the upper side. My top speed has reduced to 80 km/hr at 5500 rpm and the

bike refuses to go beyond that. It has turned into a short ratio gear type bike since I now need to downshift more

frequently mif I dont want to lose the momentum.
The solution seems to change the front sprocket to 15T of Pulsar 150. But since my chain is too tight & the gap

between the tyre & swing arm is just 5mm now, changing the sprocket now will further draw the tyre towards the

swingarm & rear tyre hugger leaving no gap for freeplay at all. So I am waiting for the chain to loosen a bit & then

              try.

Many eons ago i had mentioned about the affects of changing the tire profile from stock settings on this thread. What one needs to understand is how much difference is the tire profile from the stock one. Is the shape of the tire profile more oval or round-ish in comparison to stock? Is the tire more heavy or lighter than stock? How will the upsizing/ downsizing the tire affect the load bearing capacity of the rear tire and in the end the transmission of power from the engine to the rear tire? How will it affect the suspension settings of the stock bike with this profile?

One should ideally question all these before going for a radical change with the tire profile from stock. Whatever after effects you are witnessing are due to tire profile change. I personally don't think that going for 15T will benefit you much in terms of higher acceleration. Since, the rear suspension setting has been made upset by using a different tire profile, you may be observing more bumpy and stiffer ride in comparison to stock setting. Try going for one notch softer setting than the current one an see if it improves the rider's comfort. until you change the profile as close to stock you may have to live with the after-effects of the same.

                  Cheers,

Spark plug should be changed periodically (won't hurt much to spend 100rs something for better starts)
Have finally changed my battery to Powerzone battery after checking for Amaron MF. ( I didn't check extensively though ).
MRP : 1150/- (got it for Rs 900 after bit bargain and exchange of old battery )

Its the 5A model. Is this brand good? as am in a busy schedule couldn't find time to visit different shops.

Dude, whats the "labour charge" for free service? Didn't you check on that?

Also what are "miscellaneous" charges? I used to remember that my free services would cost around 370-400 (around 4 years back).

They cannot take the charge during free service period. No labour charge has to be paid during free services. Ask them for an explanation for the charges. If they don't give proper reply, shoot a mail to Yamaha. The company guys reply promptly (personal experience).
