Noticeable. Particularly if you don't do very long stretches.Originally posted by vanp View Postthank you bro for the info.. since i am planning to use the yamaha fully synthetic in my next service.. as per your experience.. did you feel any difference between the yamaha mineral and fully synthetic?स्वभावो नोपदेशेन शक्यते कर्तुमन्यथा !

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Those of you are feeling that the engine is harsh, try using 10w50 or 15w50 engine oil. When I use to own R15 V1.0 I've seen service centre mechanics using Yamalube 15w50 in both R15 & FZ's. I've also ridden a friend's FZ in those days with 15w50 in it and the engine as well as gearshifts felt butter smooth.2005 HH Karizma [SOLD]

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
In the year 2008 when I took my R15 for 1st servicing the service centre guy filled in Castrol 20w40 oil. But 2nd servicing onwards they always used Yamalube 15w50. Also, they used this same oil for FZ's & Fazer.Originally posted by #bpk View PostIs 10w 50 officially recommended by Yamaha.2005 HH Karizma [SOLD]

Nice, similarly honda also recommend 10w 40 oil in the past but now they fill 10w 30 only [emoji22][emoji22]Originally posted by Greymatter View PostIn the year 2008 when I took my R15 for 1st servicing the service centre guy filled in Castrol 20w40 oil. For my 2018 FZ .. the recommended grade in the manual is 10w40 .. therefore i think we can only get 10w40 yamalube at the svc .. but we can definitely change the grade if we change the brand .. i think the w50 should help in summersBajaj Pulsar 180 - 2007 to 2015

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Actually according to my experience, it's not the oil but it's related to the engine break in process. Previously i had roughness in my engine, so i used honda throttle synthetic oil around 3.5k kilometers but recently at 4.8k kilometers i poured honda mineral oil in 3rd servicing and to my surprise my hornets engine runs more smoother in 260 rupees mineral oil than the 630 rupees synthetic oil. For small engines semi synthetic oil is enough. You can try shell semi synthetic 10w40 or motul 7100, 10w 40 oil if you wish.Originally posted by vanp View PostI will surely be putting the FS oil in my next service .. the yamaha mineral oil I have used is not worth at all

bro i followed the break in process very religiously as per the manual.. for me the mineral oil doesn't seem to be working.. i think before moving to another brand i'll try the yamaha fs once and see if helps.. if not then i'll move to another brand as suggested by you guysOriginally posted by #bpk View PostActually according to my experience, it's not the oil but it's related to the engine break in process. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I too felt the same, have patience wait till 4k kilometers for the engine to settle. After that if you are not comfortable with yamalube you can surely go for motul/ shell oil. This is what i experienced in my bike. But, you are free to use any oil, afterall it's your bike .Originally posted by vanp View Postbro i followed the break in process very religiously as per the manual.. for me the mineral oil doesn't seem to be working.. i think before moving to another brand i'll try the yamaha fs once and see if helps.. if not then i'll move to another brand as suggested by you guys

Yes bro I want to give the best treatment to my bike .. if it were for the warranty .. I would have opted for another brand in my next service .. but I want to test my bike for sometime and give yamalube fs a chance .. if nothing works then I'll surely switch brands
Happy Riding to you too

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
really bro .. before the first service I asked SVC about this and they said we cannot use other oil .. and once I brought my own motul chain lube and they refused to use it .. does yamaha really agree with using other oil if confirmed via mail?Originally posted by S3maphor3 View PostFree to use any oil of recommended grade.
