^^ not to be the one who says i told you so.. but i had posted long back that if you want a few kicks from your FZ, install the R15 sprocket in it, and enjoy the low end grunt and acceleration.

@jacob : tuned to carb towards ???
i have been wanting to do this on my ride as well , but was worried about the mileage
... seeing the increasing fuel prices and the fact that my dad now has stubbornly refused to pay for my fuel bill
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Thanx for the info....Originally posted by jacob View PostWell u can switch to semi synthetic or full synthetic
Most of the Yamaha guys stock 15w50 grade Yamalube SS oil's which again doesn't make mush differance and can be used in ur fizzy. Im using the same oil now and haven't noticed any problems.
Your other options are Motul Semi/full synthetic grade 20w40.
You cannot go wrong with Motul, trust me
The semi synthetic can run fine for 3.5k kms and the full synthetic can do well over 5k kms.
you decide which one you want to go for....

Well i didn't notice which side he turned the screw to, but i haven't noticed a drop in mileage either!!! So i guess its "ALL IZ WELL" FOR MEOriginally posted by nand15 View Post@jacob : tuned to carb towards ???

P.S. I told the guy that i've been getting low mileage. so once he changed the engine oil, he started her up, increased the idling all the way up and turned the screw on the carb. after he did that the whole work shop was filled with white smoke
and after a few seconds, the smoke was gone and she sounded as sweet as if she were new
will try to get more info about the tuning stuff he did when i meet him later on
@FZ16 np: No problem bro... Tell us which oil u have chosen for ur beast and how its doing its job

Hello all,
I recently purchased a Fazer which is now at 300 km. I'm having trouble with the fuel gauge... sometimes it randomly shows near-empty when I know the tank is full. If I turn the bike on and off again then it returns to normal. Is this normal or should I get it checked at the SVC?
Also a question of curiosity... why do such few people fit side dickys on their FZ series?

Hey ! first of all congratulations !!! now , it is a well known fact that the fuel gauge of the fz/fazer has a mind of it's ownOriginally posted by Samarth_M View PostHello all,

... Don't rely on it ... use the odo n trip to keep track of your fuel status ... no need to check with SVC , they really cannot do anything about it ...
As for your second question , majority buy the bike for it's looks and then performance , so if u really were to fit a side "dicky" on it , that would mess up the look , plus what's the purpose ? storing docs ? under-seat space is enough for that ... touring purpose ? u got saddle bags which can be detached when not in use ...

I specifically asked this question cos I fitted a dicky on mine yesterday. Some of my friends got all hysterical about itOriginally posted by nand15 View PostHey ! first of all congratulations !!! now , it is a well known fact that the fuel gauge of the fz/fazer has a mind of it's own

Saddle bags are quite expensive and I wanted more storage space. I also added a tank pouch. Personally I think both things look reasonably fine with the bike... especially the dicky... IMO it looks like it was made for the bike.
My friends are like... its a sports bike, you can't put a dicky on it, blah blah... Then I showed them pics of 1000cc+ sport tourers with dickys and they kept quiet
Still don't get how a 150cc bike is 'sports'. :/
