Haha yeah I was a little unnerved while going to first meet him.. really friendly guy, answered all my stupid questionsOriginally posted by Duoscribe View Posthaving met him i completely agree what digislayer has to say.
Ah man..get well soon..I know the feeling ..Originally posted by shv18 View PostHehehe,
bro i guess our wish list will never end.. if i am not wrong Joel does take up special projects where he may consider 200cc big bore kit and porting and other mods to compliment the set up for the same.
Anyways nice to hear the results posted by Vijeth. I guess with 15 T sprocketing we can expect a better top end without losing too much on the lower end grunt thanks to the additional power.
i am literally dying to get the mods done but due to hectic shedules of shooting since, the last 6 months has finally taken a toll on my health.. down with typhoid.. all my plans for ride to blore has been delayed further

Good idea if you are already over some 1,500 km. If your bike is over 3,000km (and no need to wait up to 5,000 as some say - sorry guys!), you can even go to fully synthetic. Lower friction (= more performance, lower heat), no oxidization...much better stuff!Originally posted by GENE View PostGuys, I am planning to change the engine oil from mineral to semi synthetic, i have very less knowledge regarding this. Any suggestions are welcome

Hai guys, Me and my friend have planned for one big trip in december month. As per our planning, the total kms can exceed 3000 kms and the duration will be five days. So i have to ride my fz-s around 600 kms non-stop per day. I need some suggestion and ideas from u guys. My bike so far clocked 8,500 kms and i am using YAMALUBE or MOTUL mineral oil(20w40).
I expect some tips from the fz guys who have past experience on this kinda touring.
Some question..
1. shall i switch to some other oil type i.e. (SS or FS) also tell me brand and grade..
2. What is the capable cruising speed of our fz for that much long distance per day..i meant around 600 kms..
3. Do i need to take any special care for my tires..
4. Is our fz can do this trip with trouble-free
So many questions in my mind
..My bike engine gets over-heat and noisy after riding 100 kms continously..So that only i worried and asking this kind of question..
Awaiting for ur suggestions..Thanks in advance

, I have completed 5700kms. I am confused b/w semi synthetic and full synthetic because some say not to go for full sythetic yet
. Any advise on the same will be helpful.

overheating is usually related to incorrect AFR tuning of the carburetor.. coz i have done literally 500kms nonstop without bike overheating.. averaging 85-95 kmph when earlier in stock form.. please keep an eye on motul oil from retailers... off lately there have been reports of fake motul being present in the market.Originally posted by satheez_7 View PostSo many questions in my mind

NB is not a worthy investment comparing output of other 60/55 on stock wiring. HS1 is available as 35/35 only. H4 is the option.Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostGuys Upgrading my stock headlight bulb to a 55-60w

Thanks for ur reply dude..I wonder how your fz did 500 kms without any overheating problem. So i think some problem in my bike..Originally posted by shv18 View Postoverheating is usually related to incorrect AFR tuning of the carburetor.. coz i have done literally 500kms nonstop without bike overheating.. averaging 85-95 kmph when earlier in stock form.. please keep an eye on motul oil from retailers... off lately there have been reports of fake motul being present in the market.

Anyway,Today i met Joel and had some conversation regarding my bike performance upgrade and asked some queries to him. Actually he replied me in good way for all the queries
..
Most probably..I will go for Bigbore and exhaust before my trip..I meant with in this month

so far the reports with the big bore are really positive and ffe indeed makes the power more linear and the engine breathes out the exhaust gases better... i suggest keep a little bit of extra cash and get the volumetric porting, simota air filter and rejetting of the carb done by Joel himself. You should witness tremendous power gains... if i am not wrong AGIP full synthetic oil is really good however i would suggest to check with Joel which one would work better with his set up. for the 1st 1k kms for break in with the new big bore kit motul/yamalube mineral oil 20W X 40 would be my recommendation and then shifting to full synth should be good enough to witness all the performance you need.
However, if you are planning to go for hard core touring the stock rear tyre won't be a good idea. Stock tyre (MRF REVZ 140/60-17) is of softer compound hence more prone to puncture when doing offroading. hence, i would recommend checking the blog by trustvishwas sir on xbhp. If i am not wrong, he had shifted to TVS PANCER 120/80 - 17 offroad rear tyre. I am not sure what alternatives does Michelin/ MRF/ CONTINENTAL brands have to offer for offroading. May be others can suggest better options regarding this one. for extra safety while touring, you can also look into putting tyre slime in the rear tyre which will take of tyre punctures upto a certain size.
all the best

First of all..Thanks a ton for your suggestion dude. Yes, as you said i am also like to do the whole job in one time. I meant including air filter and rejetting..Originally posted by shv18 View PostHi,

Regarding Engine oil..sure,I will ask joel..
And tire, can we expect any little performance increase due to reducing size(120/80), also what about handling with this kinda small tire..will it affect?..2012 HONDA CBR 250 R C-ABS

Hey Guys,
Need some info.
Couple of days back, My bike engine was opened up as there was some problem with my bike. The problems seems to be corrected now. BUT, Having said that, I have now facing a different kind of a problem.
The engine is suddenly sounding less like a FZ and more like a Honda Stunner or Unicorn.. It is getting very irritating. Showroom guys say it's expected and it will become normal after 300 odd kms.. Your thoughts on this ? Is this really expected when an engine is opened up ?
