I think defective pads or improper braking is the reason
Can some one put some light on proper and efficient use of front and rear brakes of FZ
you already know it 70-30 or whatever you are comfortable with...

personally i use 90-10 (wet and dry conditions) basically the use of rear only at the last moments when the bike is not able to stop with moderate braking force on the front...

the rear is used just for stabilising the bike under hard braking...

but if i see loose gravel and/or sand on the road i use rear brakes to the max and very nominal braking on the front... as the front locks up pretty quickly in such cases

        soft long braking.....

saves your pillion into crashing into your helmetand the person behind you to crash in you.
saves your suspension, tires, brakes bascially everything....

            My answers are as below:
            • Anyone here is using Fuel lock? If Yes, then whats the cost and which company to prefer?
---> Yes, I'm using it. Don't remember the cost since I got it as an accessory during purchase but it won't cost much. It's a local made but good enough.
            • Does the petrol flow normally even with a Fuel lock?
              ---> Yes.
            • Also, can these thieves take the reserve petrol out?
---> Nothing is foolproof, but better than standard cock. Thieves let it go & search for the one without lock.
Thanks Dude. I think I will install it today itself. I was just worried about the Fuel flow part. I think with your answers I will give it a try.

In my locality at Ghatkopar. Useless buggers bought motorcycles for themselves. But they forget while buying one that it needs petrol to run and when they dont have money for it they try these stunts. I dont understand that if they dont have money for Petrol why the hell they buy a motorcycle.

Yeah I also think so. I called up my local mechanic and he has one lock in stock for 150Rs. I think I will go ahead and install that one.

            • Hi all,

Although my engine will not be re-assembled with it's original parts but with multiple new parts for higher capacity (200cc. bore-up kit, bigger valves and ported head, bigger carb. and manifold, etc...) does someone know what is the stock India Yamaha factory jetting of our bikes?

I effectively would like to check if some alterations/ mistakes had been done on my carb. That would explain at least some of the very unpleasant blackening/ carbonization we found when opening the engine (see pics on my earlier post). I do not think, though, that this could be due only to improper jetting/ air screw or whatever as the very big, oily depot all around the intake valve stem very much seems to show a leaking valve seal, but I would nonetheless like to be able to check if the jetting is original, if someone can help. The owner's manual I got for this bike is a joke, and I am afraid you may all have got that same useless leaflet!

              Thanks bros

When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

Use engine assistance for max efficiency.

                    • Hello everybody,
Some irritating problem in my bike, front brake when pressed gives a cracking sound also when turning handle to the right side it is giving a sound.
What would be the reason for this? Bike is only 2500km old.

                      • LED Side Markers

                        Hi Guys,

Recently I saw a FZ with those LED Side Markers that Yamaha provides as an accessory. Looks so awesome. Does anyone in this group have it installed in their bike ? I also notice that in many of the FZs the side markers or Yamaha Logos are peeled off. Can these LED side markers also be peeled off too ?
I want to get it installed on my bike too, But don't want it if someone can peel it off.

                              • Guys, my speedo has stopped working. It shows 0 regardless of the speed at which I'm going. I think even the odo has stopped counting, but I'll need to confirm that tomorrow. Has anyone experienced this? How much is it to fix?

                                Thanks for your help.
