It is easy what you need is two 30cm wires but when i tried i blew up the fuse the svc will charge you 150 bucks for this and will tell you 'you'll lose the warranty of the battery'.

    • Happy to have been Help Shv18.

You have posted a good review and pointed out the things needed. Well written.

I completely agree with all the things. As i said it after having a number of drag races, Joel's FFE is 10% better then the one i have. Without the DB killer its completely unrestricted and that makes a lot of noise. Lot of noise is an understatement. Hell of a racket would be proper (as compared to mine). But the performance is top notch no doubt

As you have put it in ur review that when u were riding my bike u felt as if it was a stock with better performance. I second that feeling cos i felt the same thing after i got off from urz n was riding mine.

It was fun doing the review of the two FFE'z

      __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___________________________________

While designing my FFE i had told my friend the priority list as so
      1. Should look stock.
      2. The noise, Deep n throaty
      3. Performance.

initially i was planing to put a butterfly valve inside the exhaust to minimize the noise at lower Revs. Idea Courtesy Lamborghini Gallardo. But my friend told me not to worrie. We can do it without that thing. And i got exactly what i needed.

I never wanted to ride my bike with a sword hanging over my head thinking what if a traffic cop catches me for the loud noise.
N u definitely don't want such a thing on ya mind while returning from office.

      • Shiv18 & Iceman331 excellent review!!!

Iceman331, obviously your friend has considerable knowledge about engine tuning. Getting the pipe this close in performance in the first attempt is an achievement indeed.

Just to clarify for everyone else; 2 bike lengths in a drag is a considerable difference. It should actually translate to about 1 second difference (maybe even more) and also a higher trap speed at the the marked trap. Depending upon the length of the drag strip this difference could increase or decrease based on the power character of both the bikes.

        • Fork Seal, Oil Replaced, damaged handle bar replaced

          Hi All,

Finally got my FZ-X's front shocks fork seal and oil replaced. As per RAK's recommendation i got both of them replaced. Kamla Yamaha by default uses Motul 20W fork oil as company recommended one so for me as well, being a Motul fan, i didn't have any complaints. Have attached pics of the same. If you notice the 2nd pic, the fork oil is completely black. As per my conversation with the Head mechanic, this oxidation of oil usually happens faster in coastal areas because of proximity to the sea and the approximate life is around 15,000 kms. So i guess me bike's seal gave away exactly at the time it was supposed to. The new Motul fork oil is golden in colour.

Got the damaged handlebar replaced as well. Got the Motul 300v Fully synth engine oil level checked as well from the head mechanic just to be sure if the level had gone down by any chance. He checked it and gave me a positive feeback. The oil is still golden colour which is a good sign.

The stock spark plus is still in brilliant condition and so are both the brakes so no other troubleshooting for me.

          Total Expenses:

          1) Fork Rubber Seal: Rs. 314/- (Purchased separately courtesy iceman331)
          2) Handle bar: Rs. 230/-
          3) Motul Fork Oil 20W (2 cans): Rs 360/-
          4) Thorough Washing of me bike: Rs. 100/-
          5) Labour charges: Rs. 300/-

          Grand Total: Rs. 1304/-

@abhimanyu31: Thanks for your comments. Although i completely forgot to point it out to iceman331 that my bike's tire pressure was at the recommended level of Front: 28 psi and Rear: 33 psi whereas iceman's bike's tire pressure was Front: 30 psi and Rear 35psi. For drag i believe if i had kept the front 29 psi and the rear 35 psi the distance between both of our bikes could have been possibly higher.

          Cheers

          • Sound from front wheel

            Hi Guys,
My bike has done 9000Kms. Done with 4th free service last week. I am facing a small problem with front wheel, it is making a sqeaukee(dont know how to spell ) sound. Before the service I was facing the same problem, in the last service fork oil leak and seal was fixed(thought that was the problem). One week after service, bike had no problem, all of a sudden this sound has started again.
Can anybody tell me wat can be causing this sound?

One more thing, while carrying pillion,be very slow on the speedbreakers (bumps).U bought the FZ16,FZ-S or Fazer?

Good that they used Motul. Thats why I said that Kamla Yamaha is the best SVC is Mumbai and Ganesh Yamaha is the worst. When I asked Ganesh Yamaha guys to put Motul fork oil they said that they dont have one and have used Yamaha recommended oil. It took them around 4 hours for just replacing fork oil and oil seals. Those buggers were doing timepass most of the time instead of completing their work first.

i shall summarise in two words NO ADDITIVES! Use Motul mineral (20W 40) or Semi-Synthetic Oil (15W 50 Single ester). Mineral oil will cost you around 270-280 bucks which semi-synthetic will cost around 450-500 bucks. Life of the oil based on your riding habits is upto 3000 kms. Finish all your 1st 6 free services from the SVC and not roadside mechanic. If you can try and stick around while your bike is getting worked upon. That's all.
