A single cylinder would sound like a single cylinder only. Got it from US for 400 dollars - value for money at that price.
I already have a bike which does the Vroom Vroom. Happy with this one
given the fact that it is 3 cylinders short.
I ride in just 2 weather conditions...
1.When it rains
2. When it doesn't

Roughness observed nw
I have been using the C250R for 320 km in the last 10 days. I am using Shell super unleaded (91 RON). I change gears doing the following in 1 - 3 seconds - close throttle, apply full clutch and then lift the gear lever; even quicker on high gears. I take the vehicle to minimum 5K before doing a gear change with exceptions on 1st and 2nd. When i am on my formal shoes, i feel some vibes on the gear foot rest and the brake lever. I couldnt feel this when I am on my woodlands thick soul casual shoes. Today I observed some vibes on the tank in 3rd gear when I put my thighs on it for grip. Also the gear shift is not as smooth as on the first week of usage. Though C250R is not a butter smooth engine as Unicorn, I wanted to check with you people. One thing to note, the sixth gear is absolutely smooth!!
Is this the problem with Shims or something else? Or is this the indication for oil change and first service??
I am taking the bike for a long drive (till Mahabalipuram) tomorrow morning to observe better on the OMR and ECR stretches. Any advice or suggestions??Last edited by yuvm; 10-22-2011, 12:59 AM.Leave way and then accelarate ... then overtake ....

radiator cleaning.
ok folks this is for all u folks, who wonder how to clean ur radiator wit out any water and damage. As a fellow medical professional here is wht i do to clean my bikes radiator.folks, when it rains it's quit normal to find mud in the radiator and then we have to get it off.so i did this last week cause i find the radiator fins etc similar to the human teeth for some weired reason. heres wht u should do
1. get a toothbrush
2.apply the brush against ur radiator and, brush the radiator in up and down motion.
3.apply force no worries the mud will come off in the form of dust.
4.if u have asthma or dust allergy pls use caution!!! and apply a mask.as the dust is fine, and can cause u to sneeze and have breathing difficulty etc.
5.no water nothing just normal brushing.
6.and the most important thing ppl is to hav the patients to brush the radiator in the up and down fashion(similar to brushing your teeth)
doing this will remove the mud off.i did it on my bike and im happy.do pm me if u have doubts.
Screw your courage to the sticking place.

You can do that. I got my bike serviced at 500 and at 5800 - 1st and 2nd service respectively. Got engine oil and filter changed at 2700 and minor adjustments including chain tightening.Originally posted by drarchit View Posti am not insulting the bike...i respect her....no need to tell me
just wanted to know can i go for first service at 500 kms then at 3000 kms and then at 5500 kms so on.....in service manual they say 1000,6000.....i wanted to say can i follow the same cycle as that of r15....service at every 3000 kms...

@ aargee, Harvest patience buddy and employ your frustration as weapon.Originally posted by aargee View PostI'm already at the height of frustration; let the ASC do one additional thing other than what I instructed & HMSI had it this time; I'm not only walking to court, will put the bike for sale or simply return it back!!! I'd enough with C250R, its no longer putting a smile on my face!!!ROTFL
!!! +1
I do not share my story as often over here cuz this thread gets chaotic most of the time. something you are nicely aware about.
Decision Making ( was it really a good one?, I doubt it for sure
)
Some of the fellows think that am airing about two bookings at a time ( one was Ninja and the cbr other way). Both had some merits and demerits. Only for the purpose of availing good after sale service and abs factor, I had to bet my trust on cbr. But it was never a good decision which showed in the form of chain rusting in a span of only 2 months of time, worn out of brake shoes ( it happens so hastily and yet happily ), worst availability of spares, shim issues etc. I hope there is no new nightmares to come annexed to ongoing issues.
Solutions Provided ( Were they meager? , I would say like overall its a YES
, cuz the assistance never respected the timeline and neither it was automatic. I had to fight for the right )
Thanks to HMSI for a new chain
( had to do a lot of homework too ) and my excellent service station manager for the new brake shoes
. Few days back, I had this brake shoe problem along with something really weird. The bike felt like hobbling on rear tire. I thought it might be due to low air pressure, but the case was different. I felt as if riding on a moped, the bad roads were truly felt right through foot rests and seat as well. I was kind of frustrated too. But I did not let it go vain. Right after my office, I headed to SVC. Was really pissed off, told them it was really a bad decision to go for cbr instead of Ninja. Even I inquired about if anyone would be interested for 1.5 lakh trade.
You gotta be insanely straight many a time ( I remember a book titled " how to tackle most difficult people" )
Anyways, the service station manager assured me about rectifying all the problems and of course he kept his words. I told them directly either they aint doing the rectifying act by purport or they simply do not know how to accomplish. Thank god, it was not the latter case, lest otherwise, I would have planned to sell off the bike. I am happy that they could revive the lost grin
on my face. The bike was delivered at my house after 24 hrs of thorough inspection. The cause of hobbling was the rear suspension which went kind of soft and loose at the fix. The mechanic was reckless to instal it quickly during the chain replacement operation and it went through bad roads also.
My Message ( Remember whatever we face now is only due to the choices we have made in the past )
Anyways, let me be sincerely honest to wannabe cbr owners. This specific bike from Honda has really taken a toll on them as far as quality and type of service is concerned. I seriously pity those owners who aint so good with technical basics about a bike. They can be and in fact are being cheaply fooled by Honda guys ( svc and HMSI both included ) related to any issues. Lets get this straight guys, seeing a right thing and not to do is cowardice. I own a Honda machine which does not necessarily mean I would turn blind eye to what the actual truth is all about.
Final Verdict
May be some fellows go against this post, but am up for any evidence guys. At least I can abrogate the suffering factor that an upcoming cbr owner may go through. It is like becoming an easy prey for your hard earned money. Being an xbhpian, I guess we should often speak off our chest without worrying about the upshot.sigpic
Your bike is way better than babes, only thing is that you need a proper vision to mull over this fact. :D

@pravu-Well said
I was planning to buy,but backed off after going through this thread. Now looking for new launches. This post of yours will help the upcoming owners who have booked/going to book Cbr.No one expected that honda bikes would have quality issues. They would have priced it a little more, that would have taken care of the quality.

Do look into this also
Today I was having a discussion with Ckd sir he is a xbhp member who is ridding Cbr 250r abs.
He told me that the rear brake shoe are of same of Pulsar 220 do check on this well yet I have to see it from my own eyes.
Well he also mentioned that Cbr brake shoe is 600rs. And BAJAJ Pulsar is of 185rs.
Guys just check this out and let me also know thanxclick me

I realise my mistake
Sorry guys I agree Yaar I am riding a Pulsar 180 UG4 and I have never so far bought an fi yet till date so forgot the there is no carb in fi. Anyways good u guys had a fun on it. Enjoy life sinceOriginally posted by aargee View PostWhat an idea Sirji
!!! Glad you didn't advice to service the vehicle without touching it

On a serious note - Arjun, I'm not sure if you own a C250R, if you do, please for once go through owner's manual or bare minimum go through HMSI website. I can even pardon your spelling mistake of Carburetor for car-bor-tor (quite rhythmic
), but certainly HMSI folks would
if they hear C250R is using car-bor-tor
Isi ka nam zindgai hain hastai raho dosto.
Well then for correction on an fi I mean if your average drops what should one do to get it corrected this is just for my learning.click me
