Has anyone changed the rear & front wheel bearing if yes then how much does it cost? And we have to change it after how many kms?

nomad sachin - better get the relay replaced. It could be that what you experienced was the relay stuttering on its last legs. It might fail totally any time.

To all riders : the Essar petrol pump at Kaligavu, Malapuram, Kerala seems to have problems with the CBR 250. Due to either contaminants or additives, their fuel causes the CBR to give a jerky ride when the throttle is held at a constant position.

My fuel, air and oil filter are fine. Once I switched to reliance pump nilambur, the jerky ride reduced greatly.

Hey are there any Mumbai members here? I have recently located and I was wondering where can I service the vehicle properly without getting it damaged. I ahd some bad experiences with some ASC's so I am skeptical of taking it to any random service center.

Hi Manan,
If you are ready to ride some kms, then vihaan honda in manpada, thane is one of the best ASC for CBR.

I had my rear wheel bearing changed. I don't remember clearly but the bearings cost me about 800-1000/-

But i don't think it's something related to battery because I checked my battery using multimeter and it seemed normal.
It might be something related to earthing or probably our FIs going nuts. Just a guess from my side.
Well, only our gurus here can throw some light on this issue

Anyone could put any lights on this? Was expecting some comments on this from senior and old members but probably they missed the post. Just curious to know what could be the problem that I had to open the trottle and hold the self for about 30 seconds to start the bike. Even I had a quick chat over the phone with CBR mechanic and he told to check the battery, but I'm quite sure that it's not a battery problem as I was able to turn on all headlights without any fuss while the engine was not cranking at all.

Hi all,
I got a chance to visit tansi Honda and meet Karthik. Looks good, he did a quick spin and he was ok with the bike condition. The stickers he will help me to arrange, but I have to do the job outside.
Also I was checking the bike mileage these days, in Bangalore b2b its giving me around 30-32 with very less (less than 10%) 6th gear drive. One other point noted is, even if I did a full tank petrol, the sixth symbol on petrol measure is not showing for me. I felt like the console for petrol measurement is not so correct, so just ignoring.

its same with my bike too. Even after the tank full the 6th fuel bar disappers in just 30-40 km or even lesser. My bike also avarages around 30-32 kmpl. With 20% highway ride and 80% city ride

hypheni - perhaps it's the good old flooded engine?

I had a flooded engine today - was riding at 70 when I had to scrub speed fast as an innova overtook a truck. The engine rpm went around 1000 rpm and the engine shut off two seconds later. Starting without throttle was no use, so I twisted the throttle open close open close while thumbing the starter. It started in 3 seconds, and I let it rev for 10 seconds at 7k rpm before pushing off.
hypheni - did you try start the bike by just opening full throttle while thumbing the starter? Because it don't work. The bike would just keep cranking but won't start.

You need to vary throttle input like you're revving the bike at idle - open-close, open-close.

aditya.dhavale - that's quite a racket! Better take it to the authorized SVC and show them the video.
It could be the shims or the cam chain tensioner that's gone wrong.

I had a similar sound from the engine, although much milder. The sound would disappear after the engine warmed up. The cam chain tensioner was the culprit. Ask the SVC to change the tensioner and see. It costs ₹500.

The shims of CBR250 shouldn't cost 15k! From previous posts here, it costs below 5k along with labour to replace all four shims!

Hey ya'll!

I hope you've all been well. I see quite a bit of flooding problems going around! I wish I could provide more input, but I'm gonna keep a close watch in case I face it anytime soon. I've been doing a lot of reading in my spare time and I've always been a fan of Pratik sir's Ninja-san(recently crashed, sadly. I'm truly heartbroken). His dedication to that bike has always been an inspiration to me, and has influenced me to undertake exactly such a pursuit.

I'm still gathering information on various possible mods that we can make to the CBR and have recently become obsessed with making a modern digital dash for the CBR250R. Has anyone here fantasised about having an uber-cool all digital dash on the CBR? I looked a lot, but I couldn't find any aftermarket digital dashboards for the 250R(sadly). The translogic microdash that Pratik sir used on Ninja-san is specifically made for the Ninja. I'm attempting to find out if it's portable to other motorbikes, but so far I've only hit dead ends on that end. Worst case scenario, I will embark on a pet project to make one for Suzaku.

Talking about mods, will some of you indulge me by sharing your fantasy mods roster? Mine's pretty far out there:
1. Full exhaust system - I really like the TBR Tarmac full carbon system.
2. A full exhaust system needs to be complemented with an equally good fuelling system, and by the looks of it Pratik's sir's Area P fuel controller seems to be doing a kick ass job.
3. I really want to remove the pillion foot rest pegs and stalks, the pillion seat and replace it with a seat cowl.
4. REARSETS! This is something I really want to get done right away. I am going to source a pair of rear set brackets ASAP and go ahead with shifting the stock footpegs. I'm simultaneously going to drop the front with 20W oil and little spring tightening to account for my weight.
5. Talking about the front suspensions, I've been looking up better options for the rear shocks too. I'm not really clear on this - is the stock monoshock adjustable? I don't see a tool to adjust this included in the tool kit! I may end up getting a performance exhaust after all.
6. Pratik sir dropped a majority of weight on Ninja-san by swapping out the bloody wheels themselves. I dunno if that's possible for the CBR250R, but I'm gonna look either way. Wheels and tires are a great way to drop unsprung weight. I do not know of any other way to do this, do any of you know about it?
7. I'm really considering investing in a pair of ceramic ball bearings for the wheels to reduce friction, thus decreasing loss in power and torque.
8. Pratik sir also changed the ignition coil and added an ignition booster. The mod supposedly boosts power and torque figures by a teensy bit.
9. I'm also considering getting the airbox and undertank insulated just like on Ninja-san. This prevents the respective parts from facing the extreme heat that builds up in the tight spaces that receive little to no air flow. A cooler engine is a happier engine after all!
10. I'm also very keen on replacing all the bolts on the bike with Lightech bolts. This dropped 250gm on Ninja-san. Very curious what it'll do on the CBR250R.
11. One of the most intriguing mods on Ninja-san, was the Ballistic Lithium Iron(NOT ion) battery. It weighs in at a measly 450gms. The CBR's battery is nearly 3kg!
12. I've already ordered shorty levers(CNC aluminium) and will get them installed after I get them.
13. I want to clean up the look by eliminating indicators completely. For the front, I'll either get flush mount indicators, or will get LED strips in the most visible part of the front for indicators. For the rear I'll get an integrated tail light.

I'm fascinated by the idea of weight reduction. When money is aplenty, I wish to embark on a weight loss journey for Suzaku. If the Ninja can lose 25kg, so can the CBR250R. I can't imagine what that would mean for the CBR and it excites me to no end.

What are your views on this? I really wish to have a stimulated conversation on this topic with all you owners! I hope you guys are as interested in this as I am!

To all you guys who tour and face the problem of dehydration(which incidentally is listed by Pratik sir as one of the contributing factors to his crash) because you don't wanna stop for a water break, I recently made my own hydration pack by putting together two different items:

The pack costed me a meagre Rs.1000/- for 3litres, compared to the Rs.3000/- for a 2litre hydration pack that is the current industry standard. Both items are sourced from decatlon, the 3litre bladder is Rs.899/- and the backpack is just Rs.100/-. Does the job as well as any hydration pack you can buy off a shelf. I hope this helps some of you.

As always, no posts without pics, so:
