This is my first post here in the KTM forum..

I am Salman from Hyderabad and i own a Black Duke.

KM on ODO around 3200.

My query was with the radiator fan ! Does it really work ?? i have never seen it working ... I need to know if this has gone kaput or does it work only after reaching the high point of Heating ??? I am curious to know this.. Thanks

Hey guys need your help again plzzzz reply
1. I knew the bike had to be riden in a sane way for the first 1000 kms but the bike was to tempting and i couldnt control myself so i ripped the bike apart and i was accelerating and deaccelerating at a rapid pace and i was constantly shifting at 6K rpm......now the bike sounds very different it sounds more like a pulsar than a ktm.My odo kms are 520. Have i messed up with the engine????
2. The gears of my bike disappear on sudden downshifting on rapid braking and i hav to litreally stop my bike for like 20-30 seconds and then the gears come back. i am facing this issue from 1st day. wat can be the problem

1. You mean you were shifting at 6k while being gentle or "ripping the bike apart"? Not quite sure. Either ways, I have been redlining it since the moment i left showroom, and it has not created a single issue. And no, you have not messed up the engine, you can be assured. Some change in the engine sound is expected while run in.

2. I'm assuming you mean the gear number disappears from the console. It happens if you haven't firmly slotted into the intended gear (the gear sensor fails to detect it). It has happened to me a couple of times as well. Just shift gear (up or down) one more time and it fixes itself.

The fan kicks in when the heat bar is about 4 bars down from the top. It's amazing your fan didn't start till now. My bike starts heating up quite early specially in slow traffic and you can distinctively hear the fan running.

Anyone else here gets some sound from the front brake (when you apply it) like chirrrrr- chirrrrr. Vibration from the footpegs can be really irritating :\ .Any solutions?

Got my Duke from service on saturday . i was told that for the next 20 kms my brakes wont work coz they used the cloth which was used to polish the bike to wipe the discs . its run now 30 od kms but i still do not have any braking from the back brake . any idea what i can do coz i aint confident to ride without the back brake.

My college is super far from my place and while coming back i take the highway and it gets super difficult for me to ride as the headlights of duke seem to be very weak during nite rides on the highway. So i wanna change my lights to those white powerful philips light but the ktm guys are like if i will change the light thn i would face warranty issues. Wat should i do????/

Had same issue of front brakes producing the squeaking noise (along with plastic bang sound from rear). Went to service center yesterday, service guy knew about the issue, did some work on front brakes and chain it (like tightening chain with a wrench etc.) and was done (without any charges :P). I could still hear the sound, the service guy told that it would go away eventually. (The sound has now reduced a lot, I can barely hear it now). However, this morning on my way to office, I could still hear the plastic bang sound from the rear. Will observe it for few more days, and if the issue persists will get it checked over at Orange day

On another note, does anyone know how can I get orange trellis frame? I have seen some images of Duke 200s with orange trellis frame and I think they are stickers but do not come along with the standard Raceline sticker kit.

THe plastic noise coming from the back is partly due to the fender eliminator hitting the tyre/mudguard and partly due to the fender eliminator vibrating. You can take care of the latter by tightening all the screws at the rear starting from the ones visible under the rear portion.Do not forget to tighten the ones holding the number plate and the tail reflector. Tighten all that are visible. YOu'll see a noticeable improvement.

I too am looking to paint my frame orange. Looks great. But the problem is if you do not get it done right, then you can end up with a pale looking orange trellis not matching with the orange stickers the bike has. May be stickers would be a better option. If things go wrong, you can get rid of them

after getting the bike back after more than a month, I am noticing that I hesitate to lean as much as I used to before. Especially taking right handers. My forks were slightly bent in the accident and they were fixed with a lathe machine. Is it due to still misaligned forks or old tyres loosing grip or plain lack of confidence after the accident ?
My tyres are 12.5 K old.

The Moment I saw the Ktm Duke 200, I wanted it. It just seemed like the most perfect bike for me. KTM Duke 200 is equipped with 200cc engine and capable of producing 25.51horsepower at 10,000 rpm. and torque to 20 Nm at 8,000 rpm. In my opinion the looks of the Duke are really good. The styling is very angular and sharp.

Hey the torque figure is actually 19 NM and not 20 NM.

What, you thought it was just for 'show' ? It sure does work, it is supposed to, if yours doesn't work take
it to the nearest KTM Service Center immediately and get it fixed or get it replaced under warranty.
