If you are more concerned on the speed instead of RPM then, Change your ODO setting from KMPH to MPH.
    0-10 1st
    11-20 2nd
    21-30 3rd
    31-40 4th
    41-50 5th
    60+ 6th

And don't be so caring on your Duke. Take it out even in bad conditions to make yourself accustomed to those.

But I know something to make your "condition" even worse, if you're interested...

I just saw on Kiirus FB pagehttps://www.facebook.com/KIIRUSAUTOSPORTS that their ECU remap for Duke went from Rs 10,000 to Rs 8,500 starting from July.

Additionally, on their FB page there's a post from some moto group from Kerala that did a drag race between 2 Dukes, one with Kiirus ECU and one with RaceDynamics ECU to test which one is better. They both offer increased power across entire rev range with 3 extra hp (from 25 to 28 hp), and rev limiter moved to 11,700 rpm. 0 to 100 kmh in 8 sec, down from stock 9 sec, top speed 150 kmh.

(Note: Drag video is on Kiirus FB page but it's made by the moto group from Kerala, and it's worth a strong condemnation for having a high speed drag in a middle of traffic. Crazy. Really, really bad place to do such a test.)

Here's the text from that specific post:
We r d no.1 riders club in Kerala.. Have 10+ dukes.. and btw 2 is ecu remapped.. One is u r product (KIIRUS tuned) and d another is from POWERTRONIS (racedynamics).. We chckd d potetial through a drag nd u r products simply rOcKz..!

Tried 3 times.. Riders wt same weight... Same skills.... Same tyre pressure...! U r product hve d advantage on both initial, mid range nd top end... Itz clocking 150 kmph+ in a 1.6 km stretch

Did you see another note in ClubMoto, that R15 and CBR150 are making 140 kmph :O . Are those ECU Remapped ones?

So you are still active here....good to know that :P... well the last tank full about 2 weeks back gave me 220kms at 8.09 liters which is 27kmpl and that was when I didn't use the top 2 gears at all ... Prabhu and Hareesh suggested that I don't rev or redline each of the gears / stress the engine.. they wanted me to ride sedately.. thats what I did with a lot of restraint and ended up with a 37kmpl mileage ...

So when are we riding out next ? There's a plan for Aug 15th .. mostly Kerala or Kanyakumari.. let me know if you are available.. call or drop me a msg in FB

If You want to extract the best mileage from any bike ride it at the top gear and keep the rpm where it produces max torque, as long as You don't lug the engine its fine. Only when You are racing in a track, redline in every gear to get the best lap timings... What are we going to prove by riding fast? just enjoy the ride.
The last time when we had orange day You could have showed Your skills, but You just shied off

Well racing is not the objective.. my bike's engine sound is way aggressive than the normal dukes, so I love the way it sounds which is why I don't shift short...

Hahaha, I loled at the MPH thing.
Good one. Will solve the psychological problem...

I guess those R15s are with ECU, they have that, and also for R15 are available big bore options to increase cc.
Stock CBR 150 has a little better higher top end than stock R15, but hardly any torque.
They're good bikes for racing and have good top end because of fairing and 17 hp.
Still, 140 kmh on those 2 bikes is around 130 kmh on Duke. Duke has quite accurate speedo, whereas R15 and Apache have worst.
I read somewhere that 2 guys did a test, CBR 250 was going side by side with Duke at same speed. CBR 250 was showing 143 kmh and Duke 137 kmh (old ECU remap that cuts out in 6th gear at 10,500 rpm at 138 kmh).

I wanted to but settled with Motul 7 something(dont remeber the full name).
Anyways, heard that 300v voids the warranty. Don't wanna take that risk.

The thing is 300v does not fall under recommended oil grade. Its a 10W40 grade oil and recommended is 20W50.
If you search this thread, you'll see some members having problem with servicing after using 300v.

I read somewhere 300V is for highwer spec bikes. Motul 7100 is the one to go for in Duke. 7100 is good enough as it is one of the best Fully Synthetic Oils available. I had enquired about 300 V before changing oil, but opted for 7100 after reading reviews online, where major opinion is to stick to 7100.

Oh, i didnt go through the reviews, i was to fill in 7100 agan as am hardly doing 700kms a month and 300V didn't make sense and on top of it i have been riding very sane, but i still went ahead with it as had a can left with me. Will change it to 7100 and see if the problem fades away!

I've read before some people saying their engine run cooler and smoother with 300V, which makes sense because it's a finer oil. I wanted to switch to it but I had half a liter of 7100 from previous service, and that's what I put now for next couple of months. I'm still thinking to put 300V at next oil change.

I haven't read about any problems using 300V. If anyone knows anything - please say.

Yes, the engine does run cooler with 300V, one of the main reason why i shifted to 300V. hyd is very hot in summer and i didnt want the fan running and fry my legs.

The only issue i find is with the clutch which has become hard. Am not sure why, oil might be a reason. Will know it only after i change to 7100 again.
