DUKE Owners Kindly Help!!!!
Since I just booked Duke Today I will have to wait another week to 8 days to get my Delivery!!! Honestly the wait feels really exciting !!!!
Can some one guide me how to treat this Baby from day one??
do`s and Dont`s during the initial riding period/Running In stage?

ride to nandi hills
yesterday morning i rode my duke to nandi hills along with my other friends on classic500 and thunderbird twinspark ... total kms done yesterday was 163 ..
ride included highway cruise , uphill climb , downhill blast , city traffic ...
cruised at speeds of 70-80kmph on highway , uphill climb was total fun even though i kept the revs below 7500rpm ,, downhill was even more fun ..
checked mileage by tankfull method of all the three bikes after returning :-
--duke -- 163kms in 2.8ltrs .. mileage of 58.2kmpl .. all the time the console showed 55-60kmpl on the highway , 45-50kmpl during uphill and 68-73kmpl during downhill ..
--classic500 -- 163kms in 4.8ltrs .. 33.9kmpl..
--thunderbird twinspark -- 163kms in 3.9ltrs .. 41.8kmpl..
mileage calculation error would be around 5% max

anyone tested the top end of Duke 200 ?
what is the ultimate top speed that this bike can reach with stock settings ?
Also can some one please highlight what is the nature of the pilot/parking lamp on this bike..............is it a 5W H1 ?Hell's Angel

I think your mileage calculation is way off...
these figures are only seen on the bike's console...

Coolant leakage
Last night I got back from work and parked my duke. And today morning saw the coolant leaked.. Was not leaking when I saw.. Has anyone face similar issue.??
My bike is an month old. Bought on 26th June. And this is the 1st time I'm facing this issue.. Bike has not been to 1st service yet. Pls reply..

No coolant leakages thank God till now. Only time a very minute quantity fizzed out of the coolant reservoir cap was when the cap O ring seal had given way. No such instances after the cap was replaced(not under warranty though)The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

2) If it's the cap, check your coolant level on a cold engine. It should ideally be half way between the MIN and MAX levels. Reason being, once the engine heats up, the coolant (like any other liquid) expands and creeps a couple of millimeters higher. I personally prefer to keep the coolant level a couple of millimeters above the MIN level.
3) If anywhere else, try finding the source and wipe it clean. After a day or two, see if the coolant leaks again. If it does, take your bike to the service statin and get it checked.
PS: Did you ride offroad (or on very bumpy surfaces) the previous day? If so, chances are that some coolant might have been thrown into the overflow pipe.
