And of course, as one upgrades he is sure going have a chuckle.

the gearing on d200 necessitates more gear shifting compared to the 390 , what i meant by relaxed (engine wise) was that you do not realize the speeds you are hitting since its quicker and does this at a gear or two lower (and at the same time the d200 gives the rider a feeling that the engine is 'strained' compared to the 390)
that's just how i felt, i've only ridden the 390 a few times and i felt it was easier to ride with lesser shifting to do.. the 200 i feel needs frequent shifts at 2-3-4 gears in the city traffic, while the 390 can do much more in just the 3rd.. be it doin 30kmph or just whacking the throttle open and hitting 75kmph with no effort.
Again, I picked up the 200 yesterday..but i wish i could have got the 390, plus the 390's seat feels more cushy lol.

btw, the new duke (from september onwards) come with the following updates:
    1. plastic flap bolted to the underbody hanging over the monoshock
    2. a hard plastic cover over the monoshock itself
    3. radiator fan now has a new design and it blows the hot air downwards. (not sure if its been so for a while now ?)
AFAIK... it is D200 which requires less gearshifting in the city... you can trundle along @ 35km/hr in 6th gear easily...

D390 is less ideal in the city compared to D200 due to longer gearing, poor low-end & more engine heat...

p.s : could you please post the pics of the new changes in Duke u have mentioned...[emoji4] [emoji6]

I think it is this character that's what makes D200 special...you have to keep shifting gears to keep him in enjoyable power band. and it makes you feel more engaged. And if you were in search of smooth or sedate power delivery, you should have gone for Honda...

the mudflap has been posted on the 390's thread recently http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...ml#post1098568 and i will also post some pics of them along with the radiator shortly.

I don't think you understand what i meant..
to hell with sedate power delivery, ive always been addicted to 'acceleration' (the rate at which the velocity of an object changes over time. An object's acceleration is the net result of any and all forces acting on the object, as described by Newton's Second Law.) and i care less about top ends. I'd be happy if my bikes top end is 110kmph BUT i want them to reach that in the blink of an eye effortlessly. The D200 does that, while the 390 does it much better !

hmmm... looks like a new covering to direct the heat to the front side of the radiator...

the rear suspension cover is a great addition...one that was needed from day one...

hope... previous Dukes can be fitted with these mods...

You are right, I went to honda dealer to check CBR250 and they said that the current model production stopped and new model expected within 2 months...they offered display bike, but I didn't want to go for it. Hence bought my D200, and perfectly happy with him...

Is that a cover I see over it or did you click the pic with the fan running?

I certainly hope so. It will finally mean freedom from tandoori legs.

It's the cover, the pic was taken when the bike was switched off.
And it does seem to make a difference in the amount of heat felt from the side of the bike. And oh the noise (maybe music lol) it creates when the fan comes on ! (especially when you are in closed parking lot)..

I did not ask them about that, am not sure if its a bolt on cover or comes as an entire unit along with the fan assembly.
The mud flap which is bolted on the underside, i think can be fitted, its just held by one nut.. but the cover over the monoshock, normally cannot (unless you have someone disassemble the monoshock).
And this flap+cover over the monoshock seems to be doing its job pretty well.

I am gonna go to KTM tomorrow and ask for sure. this is great if the fan cover can be installed on older dukes as it will prevent tandoori legs. the only tandoori legs should be on a tandoori chicken. LOL

I recently had my Duke 200 serviced. Did not notice then but today I noticed that the coolant is not green in color but a dark brown/ red colored uniformly.

Is this a different type of coolant or could something be wrong?

Yes but I also recall the Hyderabadi Summer which lasts pretty much 7 months with some relief sometimes in between. YIKES!!!
And in that hot weather with 48 degree Celsius temp and scorching hot wind blowing in your face, I doubt you'd appreciate tandoori legs bro

I have honestly never seen brown coolant. I have seen engine ice which is purple in color but never brown.
