The road grip is pretty decent. I feel pretty confident to lean in during corners and the bike stays composed mid-corner!
However the tyre does lock-up under medium to hard braking like a hard-compound...and if you can't ride without ABS, you're going to be fishtailing all over the place! But then it's upto the rider to adapt to it. Progressive and careful braking do it for me though I still wish I could push down a bit harder on the brakes during an emergency.
I have no idea about how this tyre will perform in wet conditions though. Just installed it in December and has been ridden about 3k kms. So far so good. But could have definitely been better.

BTW is it a hard compound tyre? Tell me more then :P I ride a bike with hard compound tyre and ABS :P trust me, tyre matters a lot eventhough there is ABS :P

        Hi to All!
Have a 2006 CBR150R (in yellow) & loving her to bits!
I'm a conservationist and chose her for her fuel economy, power, quality & also her looks.

I'm busy putting in new piston rings, so I've been stranded for a few months so far (first having had to figure out what the problem was).
But before I got stranded I did get to ride her for a 1400km trip (700km in one day & then 700km on return). Love it!

Does anyone know what material the cylinder bore is made of? Is it sleeved? Is it coated with nikasil?
Seeing that I have to hone the cylinder.
Any info and details will be much appreciated!

I have no idea bro. I guess it must be a hard compound considering that it loses grip under hard braking that easily, I'd hope for better.
But yeah tyres do make a huge difference to your ride!

Anyone have any idea how to prevent exhaust from rusting (semi- or permanent & service-free way)?
            Any DIY techniques or applications?
I'm not looking to paint the exhaust black.

Any idea how to treat the inside of exhaust for rust, as well?

            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Anyone know what the OEM piston ring material is composed of?

            Is it cast rings?

            Chrome plated?

Finally I decided to change tyre today. Set out in search of 140/60 MRF, nowhere in TVM. Finally installed Michelin Pilot Sporty 140/70. Because I was running out of time and cost was just 3.8k. I was expecting MRF to be 3.6k. Just 200 bucks more so I went for it. The handling is better than the stock MRF and the Conti Go I was using. Don't see any noticeable change in acceleration. Ride is smooth, good cushion effect when compared to mrf and contigo. Can't comment on wet grip now. Will update once I try.

Joel, how many kms did the rear stock tyre last for you? What was the price of the Dhoom 3?

                Hey guys,

I need your help. I had recently hit a bad bump and my front wheel alloy was bent a little cause of that.
Now i left my vehicle at the svc to get the guys to change the alloy.

I got the bike back, but can see a slight bend on the front alloy. I asked the SVC guys why if it was the old alloy and they had not changed it.
They are saying its due to the tubeless tyre installation process ( they dont have the tubeless tyre installation machine, they do it by hand tools etc... bullshit ).

Is this possible ? Do alloys bend if they install it by using hand tools ? I am paying for the alloys (~3800 i think), so i need a suggestion...
are minor bends okay..? or should i rain hell on them

Slap it into their throat. Alloys wond bend like what your mech said . And no, never accept it and never ride with a bend alloy. Stay safe
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

                    I'll do that.. Thanks
I too was sceptic about it, I asked the old alloy back they are delaying...

I go to the same guys always "Maanasarovar Honda" near Velachery Chennai. So i just wanted to confirm if they were lying.
How can they even do like that ( risking other peoples lives ) !

Wow, so let me get this straight ,
you went to svc to replace the bent allow with a new one, and they managed to bend the new alloy and tried to send you along ?
You shouldn't have taken the bike from the SVC at all, rain hell on them for sure, escalate this further higher levels, and make then get down on their knees.

This is by far the most ridiculous explanation i have heard from any SVC stories.

                      Cheers

Met a fellow 150R owner on the highway today! Both our bikes were of the same colour (Black and Candy Palm Green) and that's what made it so epic. I reached beside him, pressed the clutch and revved a bit to let him know I was there, when he looked, I smiled and gave him a Thumbs Up!
He smiled and we continued riding together. I swear those 3 minutes that we rode together on the highway felt so awesome guys! Finally he had to take a turn off so he signalled me goodbye and I waved back! Smiles exchanged one last time!
Completely made my day! Had only one thing running in my mind ever since - "I got family."

If u are willing to upsize, u can try the Michelin street radials 110/70/17 or if you are budget minded , try the MRF on the recently launched Pulsar RS200
