Here is a NS PDI list which I have compiled partly - from the various internet post, and partly from my experience.

1 Ensure there is no dent or scratch mark on the whole body, especially the lower parts.
2 Check the tyre thread patterns, and look for the thin green line on the centre of the tyre to ensure that the bike has not been used as test bikes.
3 Do look for abnormal gaps between the seat and the panels.
4 Check the coolant level and Ask for topped up coolant
5 Check the Brake oil level for Both front and rear brakes
6 Ensure vehicle can be locked properly, and smoothly
7 Ensure all the engine kill, light switches & brake lights are working. Check atleast 2-3 times
8 Check for rusts anywhere on the metal parts (Frame, forks, brake pedal)
9 Make sure you have more than adequate fuel
10 Check for first aid kit (dont know if its provided with NS). Can any1 confirm this
11 Start the engine (Dont rev hard all through). Rev a little and check if its is smooth and the RPM metre in the instrument panel matches with the revving.
12 Check if the instrumentation is working as per the buttons
    13 Check for abnormal vibrations.
14 Ensure the chain is lubed well
15 Check the chain slack is within normal range.
16 Check for tool kit & number of pieces. Current owners please confirm it.
17 Ensure that the alloy wheels are balanced.
    18 Invoice copy
    19 Insurance copy
    20 Pollution under control sticker
21 Ensure that RC book & tax token will be delivered in specific number of days
    Some from my exp :

    1. Check the trip meter\odo readings. Mostly svc guys will reset it to zero or disconnect the cable while taking for TD
    2. Usually first aid\tool box\manual will be given after getting the registration. You can download e-manual alternatively.
    3. Check for rpm needle vibration when bike idles\ @ slight rpm
    4. Check if you are able to change the console settings thru buttons (in my case, it was so hard and couldn't push a bit)
    5. Dont let the svc guys to rev the engine in idle.
    6. Take a small test ride before you sign their delivery book\gate pass (if allowed, I did a small ride <1km)

    > See if you can take your bike for the registration to RTO. It's always good to keep others from handling your bike. I took the bike delivery the moment when bike came available to showroom on the same day. In fact they called me and said the bike had just arrived. I paid the amount and took the bike, rode <20kms (not on main road) till registration, which I rode myself to RTO ~ 7kms (But showroom guys helped the rest of the paper process)

    >Why should you do it?, it makes you feel good and you are NOT allowing some other guys to drive yours.

Bike will sound very harsh and metallic initially, it's usual. Always apply enough force to the gear lever and then pull the clutch, gears will slot in perfectly. You will never get those false neutral issues, almost nil.

Check rear brake pedal and gear lever for scratches, any dirt deposit inside mudguards.

Check chain slack and lube the chain if not already done, also check clutch lever free play and adjust to about 1-1.5cm free play if necessary.

              Hi friends,

Brake pedals will definitely have scratches because not all the showrooms directly gets their bikes from the load truck. They will have to drive from some godown or main dealer.

and finished bike itself will go for test drive by bajaj itself before they "ok" the bike. so it may not be a deciding factor for the bike.

2 Check the tyre thread patterns, and look for the thin green line on the centre of the tyre to ensure that the bike has not been used as test bikes.

same point applies for green line in center of tyre.

Even that green line will fade only in some hundred kilometers and you can't tell the difference between unused and 100-200 kms run tyre. .
Even it should not be deciding factor.

See the key hole area...a used one for td will have lots of scratches and a new will hav minimal to zero scratches.

And see the rear foot rest..it's vulnerable to scratches so if it's used wid pillion ull see scratches on it.
And see that the plastic wrapped.
If it's dirty from the inside or dirty water droplets mark then most probably its a td vehicle.

The key hole pointer is a spot on suggestion. Thanks

And thank you everyone for your valuable inputs.

21K with same spark plug. Bro that's along period. Its compulsary to change all three spark plug and air filter after 10K. Otherwise your warranty is gone. Its like this in kathmandu. I don't know about there. Probably must be same.

Are you sure they need to be changed ?
How did you determine that it needed to be changed ?

Try to use cold plug and give us your review on that. As it seems cold plug is more suitable for NS engine displacement and haven't found anyone sharing the information. Most of 'em on stock including me,few using NGK Iridium CR8EIX and no review on CR9EIX.

                            Hello everyone,
I just changed engine oil to Moutul 5100 SS, chain is lubricated and tightened. My gear shifts are hard and a loud THAK sound comes whenever i downshift. Is it normal ?
                            I am loving my NS

                                Hi guys,
                                1) completed 5k in 4 months and 2nd servicing. Asked svc guys for motul 20w50 they gave me 15w50 and said everyone was using the same. So bought it. Is it OK?
                                2) I went on off road drive for about 30 km to a waterfall, engine got very hot and started to make weird noise, is it due to the fan?
                                3) chain got very dusty and started to make a lot of noise. Svc guys cleaned and lubed it, after that lube more and more dust is accumulating on the chain.
                                4) can't find any place to buy motul chain cleaner and lube, can anyone suggest a place in vizag?
