I dont know why we need to portray NS as a angry machine all the time which needs to be ridden above 7K rpm only. I bought it because I wanted a higher CC naked bike (splendor) with higher stability and enough juice for highway's and overtakes. Just ride it ~4-5 k rpm in 6th gear and it feels amazing. Option of taking it to 9k rpm with amazing thrill is a bonus. That too at 1 lakh is a good deal. 200AS is even better deal.

P.S. Please remember that riding above 5 k rpm in 5th/6th gear in city is a traffic rule violation .

Again it depends on person. But driving at 5K max rpm makes good road sense and you get more time to brake. It's a safety measure you take for you and others. I mean in a congested city traffic. When I find some traffic free road, I'd raise speed in 5th and then to 6th when I want to settle at that speed. Mostly I 6th gear is to settle down and maintain your speed. At less rpm (compared to 5th) you can cruise at the same speed in 6th.

I dont know why bajaj has jetted it so lean that it runs like its running out of fuel
its jetted as lean as a 150cc bike only the emulsion tube has less and smaller holes to keep it slightly rich at high speed to giv it a slightly better top speed
      this is called fuel starvation
38-50kmpl is insane for a 200cc bike with such a high compression ratio and such a short stroke
I just ordered a k&n stock replacement filter from amazon
Im going to jet it too and also change the emulsion tube for better atomization of fuel
any one using an after market filter especially nylon filters lik the k&n filter please soak the filter in oil 1st and let the excess oil drip off
ive seen my unicorn engine get destroyed cauz of an unoiled k&n filter
its like running without a filter cause of the quite large gaps in the filter
you can actually see the light through it

Do tell us how the stock replacement performs first without any changes ? And is there is a change in the exhaust note ? Some people are saying there's no change .

Wondering whether how the NS would accelerate with the RS rear sprocket on!!

It'll not gain any. But I'd like to see if RS fairing could be a direct fit for NS, if not, maybe some work around can fix?. Let the bike come out. I hardly see RS on road...here in chennai. But I saw some on showrooms. I checked with Khivraj here (Where I took mine). The non-abs cost 1,37200/- INR. and the abs version costs 1,50000/- INR. What de hell....!!!
Also the same old 200ns now costs 1,07200/- INR
But sooo Good, I've taken my NS when it was 1lac
My friend waited for RS200 to launch, but he is dissatisfied with the price tag. Im influencing him to pick NS200

                1. 220 great bike but not as bendable and flickable as Ns.
                2. When you have to ride sedated, why won't you use the 6th gear, that happens when my mom is with me on the pillion.
                3. Why would I be riding above 7k rpm all the time when there is congested traffic or red light ..? This is real life ,NOT GTA_5

I will mostly prefer riding at 6th gear. For example, i like the engine sound and the smooth vibes when I ride at 4.2k rpm ~60kmph and at 5.6k rpm ~80kmph. I find these two sweet spots of my bike and I will mostly stick to this. Also throttling beyond 7K makes my bike sound a lot and attracts attention

Haha the same reason that keeps mine under 7k rpm

                        1&2. Did I mention anywhere that i'm Rossi on a 220??
Of course i know that 220 is not as flickable as 200ns, both have their own advantages/disadvantages, the discussion is not that. I was just curious at you mocking other guys & splendors saying 200ns is not meant for below 5k rpm riding and people be better off buying splendor if less than 5k rpm is what their habitat is. I was disagreeing on that part.
Everyday situation in traffic is perfect example that one cant stay at more than 5k rpm for a long time so its wise to shift to 5/6th without lugging engine (around 4-5 k rpm) with of course blast to revv limiter in all gears whenever a clear road is sighted. Hope you got my point!
                        Fun Starts at Redline!!!

That's very true. As I said, at lower rpm no one even bothers, even a splendor guy comes for a drag race but when I twist beyond 7K, most of 'em wont fail to give way and ofcourse nothing will tail me

But I see many R15 and CBR guys ride at high rpm. However luckily we don't have to, we can still get to that speed at comparatively less rpm
                          NO OFFENSE..!!

Only time when I get hot under my seat is when a duke gets closer

Agreed. I can't really drive at high rpm all day. Fun for few minutes and a safe riding for the rest. Use high rpm to overtake the traffic and there after maintain a decent speed. It's good for us, and for her as well

I had never seen anyone riding his 200NS hard.
Here in Navi Mumbai the number of 200NS is less and those who had this wonderful machine ride it too sedately like a splendour.
Here the 220Fs are always on Rampage.

Hahaha.... That's because p220 held the pulsar pride on top (fastest Indian) and hence the riders always assume they are the king of roads

Yup its the bad boy attitude which make them to ride fast . Though the NS accelerates faster why I just wonder why do they ride on UNCLE MODE ?
