Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Is it necessary to get the tappet checked after every 5000 km? As per the owner's manual, it has to be inspected at every 15k km intervalOriginally posted by Sandepp View PostIt should run properly after fixing the issue as long as there is no damage to the piston and the cylinder walls which would cause loss of power and mileage.Be vigilant in what the service guys do to your bike. This issue will crop up again if you let the valve clearances go out of specification. So ask the dealer to check them every 5000 kms and if possible learn to do it on your own. However if you do not want to deal with valve clearances often then buy a bike with DOHC setup like duke or CBR 250 which uses shims which don't go out of spec soon unlike tapets.Although they do require adjustments at some point and are hard to do by yourself and should be given to the dealer.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I ran my p180 like crazy redlining it at every gear. I always insist my mechanic to check the tappet clearances and they needed adjustment every 7-10k kms. Considering NS 200 has a more brutish engine its safer to check it every 5000kms.Not that it will go out of spec so soon but better be safe than sorry. Manual is for a broad spectrum of riding styles. If you ride the NS 200 like its made to be ridden then you might need to adjust them sooner.Originally posted by imshivs7 View PostIs it necessary to get the tappet checked after every 5000 km? Best way to find out if your tappets are out of spec is to listen to the idle revs keenly. If they sound harsh and you hear a lot of clunky metallic noises then its time to check them.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys.. i have a serious problem. My chain alignment goes out within 5000km after replacement. This is second time i am changing chain and sprocket. Is it my bike problem or any other issue. It make me sad on riding.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
By chain alignment do you mean chain slack or wheel alignment.Too tight chain with little slack can cause sprocket wear. Improper wheel alignment can also cause chain and sprocket wear. Get them both checked out. Chain slack needs to be check every 1000 kms just to be safe. It will definitely go out of spec at 5000kms.Originally posted by arunchegz View PostGuys.. i have a serious problem. My chain alignment goes out within 5000km after replacement. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
A lot of people having issues with tappet noise have visited svc to get it adjusted... To no avail though. The noise comes back in a few 100 km... Plus most of our mechs adjust it by feel... I've never seen anyone using the guage.Originally posted by Sandepp View PostI ran my p180 like crazy redlining it at every gear. I mean if we rotating chain one side is tight one side is loose.Originally posted by Sandepp View PostBy chain alignment do you mean chain slack or wheel alignment.Too tight chain with little slack can cause sprocket wear. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
The top half of the chain will be tighter than the lower half. You check slack with the lower half of the chain. When you changed the sprockets did you change both the chain and front and back sprockets. Because if you reuse any old component then you are inducing premature wear on the new sprocket or chain.Originally posted by arunchegz View PostI mean if we rotating chain one side is tight one side is loose.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I feel that it's better to adjust it ourselves. There are many articles available on the internet for the same. And by the look of things, it shouldn't be a cumbersome process. What do you guys say?Originally posted by Vicky_New_Guy View PostA lot of people having issues with tappet noise have visited svc to get it adjusted... To no avail though. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hello friends, i have NS 2012 model. It has completed 27k kms. At about 12k kms i changed its rear tyre to revz z r15 tyre. Now my has completely lost straight line stability. It feels as if the bike is always a little tilted towards right and while turning right, the rear of the bike tends to slip. Rear shock absorber of the bike is also leaking. Please help me what to do.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I would suggest check the tyre properly for any signs of uneven wear. Im sure your wheels are aligned properly... If not you would feel it wobbling and that's easily noticeable.Originally posted by priyank.shishodia View PostHello friends, i have NS 2012 model. It has completed 27k kms. When was the last time your cone set was replaced? When you leave your hands does your bike sway to the right?
If your shocks are leaking, it's busted. Time to change. Try a different service centre or a local mechanic if the svc your visiting can't help. Surely everyone won't give you the same answer.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I recently got my both front shocks filled at service centre. My chain set has not been replaced till now. My rear Tyre shows a little more wear from right but thats hardly noticeable. The bike feels no wobbling when clutch is pressed while riding. Please could anybody advice me a good mechanic in ghaziabad.Originally posted by Vicky_New_Guy View PostI would suggest check the tyre properly for any signs of uneven wear.
