Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Alright plans changed. I love my bike, and I dont wanna experiment with things that experts tell us not to meddle with, though the math is right. So it's gonna be 130/70-17 MRF revz-s for the rear pretty soon. I'm still in a dilemma for a soft compound 100/80-17 for the front.Originally posted by ankur2smart View Postaaahhhhh tyre discussions are back
. I remember starting a debate on EUROGRIPS after my nasty comments on them.
Well the math seems to be spot on. I just have few doubts:
Few years back when I was totally new to bikes, I was told by all exp riders...not to play much with the prescribed profile of tyres for obvious reasons. Now in this case, calculations are saying effects should not be much but there has to be some right?. So what can be those? Else, BAJAJ would have thought about keeping duke's spec of rear tyre.
Keeping common sense aside, 150/60 is just too mouth watering
I am still close to 7k on ODO so no chance of getting one for me now
Dude please go fast & get it
fast fast
P.S: I have a lovely little idea to make the bike look uber cool with the new tyres!
One more query to everyone. What would happen if I upsize the front tyre by 10 mm?Last edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 06-16-2013, 02:45 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
You're right. Soft compounds are nothing but used for good tarmac for improved traction, go beyond the limit hard or soft is gonna let you down for sure. That's one. The fast wear of the PSDs is another.Originally posted by Speedshift View PostNothing perceptible, I have Pirelli Sports Demon 110/70 in the front and it has served me perfectly for the last 8500kms.
The stocks are a blend of soft and hard for the right composure of the bike. All tires need a certain temperature to perform upto the mark and in rainy conditions, the ballgame changes altogether.
But I for one, would definitely try the PSDs or the Michelins, currently on my second set on my P220, and so far so good with the stock FS on the front and ZAPPER VYDE on the rear, cornering is real fun, but really want them to wear fast, so that I can get the PSDs.
Anyone here used Michelin Pilot on their bikes and know about their avlblty?
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I had a same experience once with a auto driver!!. i happened to take a Auto when i was traveling to my native. Auto meter showed 12KM insted of 10(actual). I explained him that, my bike will show 10KM till this point from where i took the auto.. he said " Bike will have bigg wheel but auto will have small and they rotate more compared to your bike, so the difference is 2KM

Yes you are rightOriginally posted by Karthi.N View Postif u upsize ur front tyre all ur meter readings will go kaboom

Just think. use your commonsense. Then you will come to know why....Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostCan you please explain how the meter readings will go "KABOOM"?

As we are all know, meter readings taken by the rotation of front wheel. What will happen when we change the diameter of our wheel ????
If we lower, the speedo will show you more than original speed & vice-verso
Please don't mix some foolish auto driver's comment with the truth. both are different subjects. & Karthi was true.Originally posted by vin_amulya View PostOT please

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
as u increase or decrease ur tyre height ,the total wheel radius(r) now changes and also the perimeter (2πr) ....now the distance travelled by the wheel for one rotation varies ..but the speedometer connections can only sense the no of wheel rotations and not the distance ..this is what causes the problems and then ur speedometer and odometer will not show correct readings...Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostCan you please explain how the meter readings will go "KABOOM"?

I think we have smaller rim size compared to FZ. So it will give us round profile like stock tires. & the total wheel size remains same, I think. Correct me, if I am wrong..I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!

Yeah the meter readings will change by 1 or 2 km/h so odometer readings will vary proportionally. But nothing kaboom for sure!Originally posted by Karthi.N View Postif u upsize ur front tyre all ur meter readings will go kaboom

MY Tire !!!!!!!!!!
Sadly, I am only left 1/4 of my tire tread

I am using stock Eurogrip tires ........
any comments ????
Our Sunday afternoon trip to nearby stone crusher. Only 5 KMs from my home
Its "Baappu". Our driver. In full "MOOD"

I revert back from Motul SS to Bajaj oil.
Now my NS is nearly smooth (Aditya will be happy, when he notice this
) compared to other pulsars (180, 220)
Vibes reduced. I have to wait until 7K KMs
My acceleration increased to a great extend. So, I hope mileage will be ....
Obviously I am not a fan of any brand. Just sharing my experiences.Last edited by spknair; 06-17-2013, 02:18 PM.I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!

Dude you should be happy more than me. It's your bike not mine. Anyway, glad you're enjoying your pulsar.
The eurogrips on mine are a goner. 11.8k on the odo. Not a single puncture till now though. Check this:
All thanks to this:
Ride safe, ride hard.
