post pics guys if your getting engine work done.
The bike is behaving well, no fork oil seal leak now, got a new tube for the rear after 3 punctures so that is also fine. Got the inside rim beading of the tyre changed and wobbling has stopped. Pulls well upto 60&then the same dual character. Waiting to know the reason for that.
Minor leakage of oil seal&gasket area is still there, will open up head at next service and update. Nothing will be done this month though.
If any engine work is carried out I will take pics.

    • NGK Iridium spark plugs do not make any difference on our stock engines, but yes the life is quite long. I had someone who brought it for me from Dubai way back when they were launched since they were not available here.It lasted for 35k. Then I switched to normal NGK plugs & the performance was no different from Iridium.

Currently I am using GP series which is neither Irdium nor normal and costs only Rs.130/-. The model number is CR7EGP.

      CR7E-Normal plug
      CR7EGP - G power
      CR7EIX - Iridium plug

Stick to stock plugs, there is nothing wrong with it.

@NANO ----I checked up with Atul scooters,he does not have the idiling screw & it does not come as a spare also. Next thing I can suggest you is apply WD40 & see it works. Else if you can come down to my place, i can take you to a Carb specialist, (whom I know from my childhood days) & get things solved from him.

My bike will be clocking 1L on the odo today and I AM LOVING IT. Will post a pic in the evening.

      • @Vishal: Congrats on touching the 1L mark buddy!

Yes, you are right-these special plugs last longer due to the self cleaning chamber mechanism, and the anti-fouling tip.
Performance wise the difference would be too less to comment about.
My bike's cold start problem was eliminated when I switched over to the Iridium plug, but that could have also been achieved with a stock plug, but it wouldn't have lasted too long probably.

Oh come on man, we are here to help each other, so no thanks & all that stuff. You can come down the next saturday(24-Jul-10). I have nothing planned as of now . We can get your Carb tuned & get your plates changed. Just complete your HID work fast.

And yes,you will have to come in the morning time, because the carb guy does not work late evenings.

                  Hoping to meet you soon.

Looks neat. If there would have been a disc at the front,it would look much better.

                  -----------------------------------------------------------------------
On a side note, planning to gift a disc kit to my Fiero on completion of 1L kms. Thinking of putting up a Pulsar kit as it costs less & everything is widely available.Though this will be after the rains. Will keep you guys posted.

                  • @Vishal:- Congratulations on touching 1L kms .... I wonder if my Fiero will ever do that... right now the odo reads close to 40K kms ... I changed the original speedometer set after a nasty accident. Your Fiero still looks good... you have been maintaining it well. Congratulations once again! Keep Riding!!! Cheers!!!!

Wonder when your Fiero will retire.

                    @remortr :
Wow! the Fiero looks awesome! Great Job I must say! Highly admirable. Can you shed some light as to what you did… the headlight assembly looks like one from the FZ (even I want to change the headlight… what’s the cost?) and so does the handlebar… kept the same speedometer? What else have you done to achieve that beauty in the picture? Congratulations to you! We do have some very creative and talented people in this Forum.

                      Thanks Chief for the wishes.

Yes the bike is maintained all by me & I really LOVE it. It will never retire from its duties, I will not let it retire

Great Work Dude! Really fires the imagination!!.... Spectacular Photography too! I guess the FZ's handlebar feels cool giving a low crouched position ... a sort of very engaged kind of a riding experience. Have you managed to get the speedometer working? I mean the RPM meter might prove to be tricky as the Fiero does not have one. Do let us know.

                          • Got my bike serviced today at castrol bike zone. The only problem was front fork oil leakage got the seal and oil replaced everything else seems good. The service manager advised me to change the clutch plates and he told me that the bikes pickup and mileage would be reduced if I dont change them soon.I need your advice on this guys how do I identify that its time for the clutch plates to change ? after how many kms should they be changed ? they currently 29k kms old.
I am quite satisfied with their service the total amount was 750rs. including engine oil and service charges.

                            • 750 bucks for servicing that's high bro...
clutch plate's life depends on the rider.
if you ride your bike hard, they wither out faster.

normally they last for about 25-30k kms...
i think its a good time to change, besides try to wheelie your bike, if it doesn't pull higher than 3 inches no matter how much you revv, your plates need to be changed, however one does not need to change plate compulsorily until the clutch, when pressed fully behaves like half pressed..
start the bike in neutral, press the clutch completely, hit first cog, if the bike jerks a bit on gear swap, it needs new plates..

if you have an F2 then keep an eye on the rpm meter, if at idling it shows crazy figures then your clutch needs replacement too..

i would suggest to stay away from these BIKE worlds as they cost a bomb...
i've never paid more than 40-250 bucks on my bike's servicing no mater where i get it done from.
                              ofcource keeping the oil separate.
