Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
These are Halogen projectors, not HID. RS200 uses 65/55W Halogen bulb. On low beam, it sucks 55W from battery and on high beam it takes 55+65W=~115W (Correct me if wrong) from the battery, which translates to ~10A current load. On stock for D390, high beam takes 65W max and I believe either the H4 socket and the wire setup needs upgrade to handle high current. And since RS200 uses higher ampere alternator unit, the battery does get quick charge despite the heavy discharge.Originally posted by backlash4u View PostHi I am a 390 duke owner. I was wondering if anyone knew what the projector light units of rs 200 cost. Am planning to projectors for my bike.. thanks in advance
... It's just that my stock light reflector faded.. maybe due to excess heat
....
Instead try normal 100/90W H4 Halogen. I'm too looking out for my NS. It's still much safer than RS200 projectors.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hey All,
Some urgent help required:
I just got my first service of Rs 200 non abs today and seems like running in few issues, please advise accordingly:
1) Fuel indicator misbehaves i.e at one point it was showing only 2 points and sometimes 4 points. Does the impact of breaker affects this? Just ran once on to a speed breaker giving a proper thud sound.
2) The MAJOR issue: Bike closes on its own sometimes during riding when clutch is pressed during braking or downshifting. If i keep on going with normal driving without braking there is no problem whatsoever, however 3 out of 10 times when i went to break from 60 odd speed in between the bike stops and have to restart immediately. What can be the cause of this? I had this issue prior to getting serviced and informed SVC as well and they said it's due to winter season in north and may be coolant comes into act. I said NO, but they insisted. Now i request you guys to help me on this as to what can be the problem and how can i explain it to them.
3) There is some sound coming while driving. I asked and they said it's of chain and since it has been just service you may hear it. What's your take guys?
Would appreciate a response on this, since need to get things in motion accordingly. Tomorrow SVC is closed and since i have to go outside due to some urgent work, i want to get Number 2 fixed asap, even from some trusted mechanic if available and i get enough knowledge from fellow members on this issue.
Please let me know if anyone wants to ask about any query related to servicing.

2. Mine too get off when I ride hard in the begining days.later engine got used to it and it happens very rarely now..
3. Sound is audible when u ride at low speed under calm environment..? Then most of the bikes here has it.it might be related to the speed sensor in rear wheel..

Thanks for informing that. Will fill in petrol tomorrow morning and check the same.

So is it normal and nothing to worry about or panic? I have covered around 600kms and started observing this only 400km or so onwards. In what conditions does it happen with you? While breaking or downshifting? If it's normal, then its Ok. Would love to hear more on this from you as well other forum members.

Sound is fine at low speed. It starts to come after 40kmph.

1. Fuel indicator shows wrong amount when bike is on the side stand. To get an (almost) accurate reading sit on it (to keep it straight) while the ignition is ON. Wait for a few minutes. This will give you the reading of fuel inside the tank.Originally posted by nayan_jindal View PostHey All,

2. This is normal. Bike shuts OFF if you don't pull the clutch in sooner. To prevent this, if you are coming to a stop, pull the clutch in before completely letting go of the throttle.
3. Could very well be chain noise. My friend has the same bike but his chain makes more sound while riding compared to mine. Get it checked at the SVC.
Don't worry, nothing major just small niggles. Enjoy your ride!

Thanks for the answers. My fuel and sound related query seems to be well answered now. Just the second point now:

Would it stop even at a speed of around 40 while downshifting and clutching? I think i have clutch pressed or it should be hard pressed always. Just minor niggle, as everyone might have who owns his first expensive bike. Have any other member experienced this?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Happened a few times with me when the bike was brand new. Doesn't happen now. While performing a downshift rev a little bit while pressing the gear lever (rev matching). This should make downshifting a little easier.Originally posted by nayan_jindal View PostThanks for the answers. My fuel and sound related query seems to be well answered now. Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi, what kind of fluid is this? Check whether it is water or oil? If it's oil than its point of worry. Sometimes during bike wash by unprofessional people in svc water enter into silencer which comes out. Check the liquid....Originally posted by omendrA9 View Post
