I guess the availablity of MRF tyres have increased a lot. Visited the SVC today, saw multiple AS 200s with Zappers fitted. U can demand for MRFs now. The chances of getting one are much higher now.

Some observations after 1 month of ownership
    • Engine considerably smoother after 1st service. Engine wants to rev higher and higher!
    • Vibes have toned down as well. Do remember to ask the mechanic to tighten all bolts on svc.
    • Brakes are awesome! The front specially!
    • The gear sticking issue from 1-N-2 was somewhat solved by adjusting the clutch.
    • The high beam still points to the moon! Can be adjusted i guess, but fairing needs to be opened. No Thank You.

The secondary vibration woes remain. Difficult to explain to the mechanic.
Its like a secondary, slower, deeper, oscillating vibe/sound which comes from the bike, apart from the standard engine vibrations.
Any idea what it can be?

And after breaking my head since the time the AS200 has launched, I have decided to book my steed this weekend. Any tips as to what to check when taking delivery?

Coz I read somewhere in this thread that there is a possibility they'll give test drive bikes by reconnecting the console at the time of the delivery. So that got me worried.

Can anyone tell me what all to check ? And, can I get MRF tires on it from Kalyani bajaj, Mekri circle, Bangalore?
      Any help will be appreciated.

Also, met a NS200 owner near my area. Sparked a conversation with him. He showed me a rust spot on a piece near the foot peg. I was shocked, since it was just a 7 month old bike.

Was wondering, has it happened to anyone else?

I'm using my NS (2014 oct) batch and it's about 10 months closing, and have not got a single rusting or paint peeling off issues. Again for a new bike PDIs, you can browse the web to get the info, but after all it's 50-50, anyway here remains the basics

      1. Tyre thread, look for it. That will indicate EVERYTHING
      2. MUST do a TD prior taking it home, many on the hurry and enthusiasm fail to do it and bring it back to SVC the next day
      3. Hold your payment until you see the vehicle and you are done with the TD, atleast don't pay till you inspect
      4. Take your bike for registration yourself, don't let the svc engineers ride it for you.
      5. Check for tacho needle vibrations, console buttons, lights, horn, indicators
      6. check the handlebar alignment and braking (by TD)
      7. Check Engine oil\break oil\ coolant levels, if less they might say it can be topped on 1st svc, but dont agree.
      8. Finally don't buy if tyres are Euro, trust me it'll make you worried a lot

And don't let them rev the engine a lot. I'd slap him if he did that to my bike

Good, that's common. That is primarily due to engine harshness, not actual vibrations. Changing the engine oil might suppress that.

This vibration creeps in from 4 k rpm.It happens because that's where the power pinches in for the bike.specially after 4500k rpm.so its cool.m in 1400kms and the vibes has decreased a lot,I mean the vibes that are creeping.loving the bike to the core.its a wonderful feeling to ride the bike at night because of the headlights

This is Engine harshness? It feels like I have 2 motors running at different speeds in my bike!
The frequency of the slower, deeper vibes remain constant, slightly increasing with high RPMs.

Thanks for the input bro. I'm not the only guy who feels this! So let the kms pile up? That's the only way I guess then?
I agree! Night riding is awesome thanks to the projectors! Bike performs fantastically in the cool weather too!

He he.thanks .I think your idling is really high.it should be something around 1.4k on cold start.try reducing the idling and then tell me once if it solves it

The bubbles are fine. But you have too much oil. It should be between those two lines marked.

Guys how come I have not seen a single AS 200 on Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon roads. Is it actually selling in Delhi/NCR.

Same here, in chandigarh and solan i see a lot more RS 200 than AS 200. I enquired at two dealers and they also said that RS is selling more than AS.
Though both were happy with AS sales as well.

But i feel bajaj is really pushing the RS and neglecting the AS. In both the dealers they had accidental crashed AS200s which were lying with them for weeks but they couldnt work on them as no parts were available. One dealer (and this is a big dealer having many sub-delaerships under him) said that BAJAJ is yet to release even the parts catalogue for the AS200!

Thanks, i was worried on seeing the bubbles. Good to know its normal.
The level seems wrong because the bike was not parked on level ground. the pic was taken on gravel as you can see in the second pic. On level ground the level is between the two marks. Almost in line with the upper mark.

Hi guys, hope u all riding well !!
Well finally it happened what I was scared of.
I took my bike to the SVC to get the fairing vibration addressed. The guy opened up the fairing, put in some tape and screwed it all back. The vibration did dampen to a great extent and I was all happy and releived. Little did I know my joy was short lived. From the very next day itself the fairing noise has returned with the addition of earlier non existent noise which is all the more disturbing and the vibrations have spread through a wider spectrum of the rpm range.
As of now, really disappointed with the bike and might sell it if I get a reasonable price.
I've also written to Bajaj and the chances of getting any reply look bleak. Never should have doubted my idea of buying a Yamaha.

In all the reviews I have seen online, all have said that fairing vibrations are minimum. That they have done a good job of damping vibrations. I'm surprised to see many negative reviews of users.
