Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks for your reply. Can you also suggest where should i get it serviced. It is going to be my first service. My friends are suggesting to get it serviced from Khvraj Kasturba road itself (bought it from there). I read through the previous post & realized BSK auto service is one of the best in Bangalore for Pulsar bikes. I recently moved to Bangalore 43 days back hence dont have much idea about it.Originally posted by jbm_guy View Post

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I would suggest the banshankari auto service.they are undoubtedly the best when it comes to pulsars.khivraj is also good but I don't have much experience with Kasturba road.I did try the indiranangar and marathalli khivraj and they are the worst.hence don't trust on khivraj.Originally posted by Shrivastava Apoorv View PostThanks for your reply. Can you also suggest where should i get it serviced. Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
@ jbm_guy - Thanks a lot for your prompt response! What you say makes perfect sense - once the break-in is over at 2,000 km and the bike is serviced, I'll start raising the rpm in higher gears gradually. Hopefully I should be able to explore the entire rev range in higher gears by 2,200-2,300 km, and in all the gears by 2,500 km.Originally posted by jbm_guy View Postsvc can fix the suspension sound, I had that THUD sound whenever i ran over even a small patched road. For post run-in procedure, Don't redline at lower gears, instead increase your RPM range to 4-5K for gears 1, 2,3 and 6-7K gradually for the rest. Your engine has been almost broken up, so doing max rev wont damage it, but however to make sure the engine gets even more smoother, try opening your power band slowly but covering most of the range of your RPM (if you were running mostly on 5k rpm these days) to 6-7k gradually and after few hundred KMs, increase further. Just do it for the next few days or few hundred KMs, later you can ride as you wish.
FYI I did my post run-in till 2500kms. Now my NS is perfect even with dirty bajaj oil. Anyway Im planning for motul.
ride careful, cheers
.
Will I need to change my oil again at 2,500-3,000 km? (I'll change it at 2,000 km, of course). The next official service (2nd free service) is scheduled at 4,500-5,000 km - which is pushing it a bit, given that I'm running on Bajaj's legendary DTSi 10,000 oil.
So far, the oil+filter changes (plus strainer cleaning) have been at 150, 550 and 1,000 km (during which I've progressed from 4,000 rpm to 4,500 and then occasionally to 5,000, all acceleration runs being gentle). The bike is now at a little over 1,900 km.
Thanks again for all your help!

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
My bike stalled on the road while riding last week. Have really lost confidence since then. I used to go for random rides during night and on weekends. drove it almost 1800km in one and a half months. but have only taken the bike out once since then. Really feel scared now, so i understand the feeling.Originally posted by kshitiz7891 View PostAs of now, really disappointed with the bike
I've also written to Bajaj and the chances of getting any reply look bleak. Never should have doubted my idea of buying a Yamaha.
It does not come with a side stand by default neither does NS. There is a centre stand available from bajaj for the NS and i guess the same fits the AS.Originally posted by vishandy2k View PostAnd guys..one doubt..
Does AS200 come with centre stand? Coz the manager in the showroom said there are no accessories with the AS200..
I was charged Rs 750/- for the side stand and they didnt even give a bill despite my requesting twice. I feel the one ive got is fake since there was no mRP and no hologram on the pack. when i pointed this out to the manager he quickly took the cover and threw it under his desk. I am thinking of reporting the issue to Bajaj.Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostFor my NS, I got it fixed for 650/-. At first neglected the need of it, but soon realized the need esp in a country like India we really need center stand. Also it's helpful to clean or check for problems yourself. However parking in side stand is 100% safe.
For me they charged:Originally posted by aslisuperman09 View PostAnyone over here can please tell how much will they charge for first service
Engine Oil 1.2L Rs 480
Oil FIlter Rs 74
Chain servicing Rs 60
Total Rs 614/-.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Price is correct.however there should be a hologram on the plastic packing of the aide stand.you should have insisted for a bill.the reason why they didnt give bill is because it might be fake or they wanted to make some money.I did it for rs 600 including fitting .ideally its rs632. I got a discount.however you should complain this to Bajaj.there is a till free number for it.just Google itOriginally posted by guptavis View PostMy bike stalled on the road while riding last week. Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Well that looks good that you are trying to be safer than saying sorry.... I only changed it at 1st and 2nd service bro. But I still feel my engine is quite well set, but however the Bajaj oil is showing some signs, @4.5K to 6K in gears 2,3 the bike sounds harsh and little viby. However it gets smoother on higher gears. Once I commit the oil change to Motul, hopefully I expect these minor issues to be arrested. You don't need to change oil after your run-in as you may not benefit much, but there is no harm if you do and ofcourse if you dont mind about the costOriginally posted by deebee View Post@ jbm_guy - Thanks a lot for your prompt response! , Remember, the drain interval of oil, esp Bajaj oil is typically higher ~5-7K Kms if you run at sane conditions, where as with Motul it shall be ~2-2.5kms. So Long life, average quality Vs Short life, best quality
Wait till 5K Kms bro, then get to Motul.
