So today I went for a ride in highway.
The headlights are an absolute awesomeness.loved it.
Speed is good on the bike.at 5th gear it reaches around 110 easily.I touched 137 but for a moment.after that wasn't able to go beyond 125 but was on 6th gear.
However I feel the bike isn't that good at the 6th gear at speeds above 120.feels like its not getting enough fuel but till 5th gear its awesome.very smooth.
Howveer I feel Motul 5100 will bring some changes in the top end and especially speeds above 100(is it so or am I just guessing )
I am a terrible photographer but still got couple of decent pics

Try building the RPM in initial gears if you want to go real fast on the 6th. But please be very careful and avoid these speeds in night. Our roads are really dangerous and in night even more so.

I too think Motul 5100 will make the ride smoother at higher speeds. Planning to change mine from stock oil to Motul 5100 at 10k

I like night rides a lot, esp the solo ride on a single lane country side roads, but I never exceed 80-90 kph limit at nights, mainly because of poor helmet visor and reflection and next our India roads). Our roads are really dangerous and in night even more so.

You can do it post your 2nd service itself. Motul from my experience reduces engine harshness esp at 4-6K RPM in lower gears. But apart from that, I couldn't feel much gain in smoothness. I hope if your engine is already smooth, then Motul doesn't make it better. But apart from this, there are many good things about Motul and everybody should start using motul semi-syn after 2nd service or 5K KMs.
By the way, I was expecting butter smooth like in my Activa, which sadly never happened. You know right, smooth vs butter smooth; to feel it drive pulsar and Activa 3G. you know what I mean
You are so true. I was cruising in relax mood on a day, 6th gear @110 kph, suddenly wanted to check top speed. Tried twisting the throttle to full from 6th onward, the bike gathered speed quick upto 124 kph and then the rev limit indicator started blinking, but bad I was put back to 120 kph by the harsh wind though I was on full throttle, the rev limit led didn't flash, the speedo reading was 121 and never increased. Isn't it strange?.

well, the bike suffers from severe wind blast (being naked) and the power generated gets compensated for the air resistance and all the extra power goes against fighting with air as it lacks the wind shield and full fairing. If the wind was not so strong, the bike can easily reach the said top speed eventually.

Now what happens when you shift to max RPM in each gears?, you get more momentum than what happened in my case and this momentum gets built up and adds with the power of the bike and hence you probably will reach better top speed. This is the physics behind this.

I have already given up on idea of a butter smooth engine. It wont happen on Pulsar. But you reignited old memories when I used to ride my girlfriend's (now wife) activa and my roomie's Unicorn... I fell in love with those smooth engines. Only other bike I could find that smoothness was CBR 250R. I guess I could get that smooth engine once I graduate to a twin cylinder bike (Or maybe a triple)

Amen to your triple! May the gods bless you with a Triumph Daytona or a Yamaha FZ-09!

my girlfriend's (now wife) That's cool bro, lucky

Activa 3G, of my father in-law's. Couldn't believe myself, the bike was silky smooth even from 0 - 70 kph. After 60kph, only the engine sound comes out, still nothing felt on handle bar. It was even a lot smoother than my Activa 2013 model. To rate that smoothness, I'm listing all the bikes that I have ridden and some owned and have ridden longer(Bold ones)

                  Activa = 80%
                  New Activa 3G = 95% (Best ever)
                  Unicorn (old) = 70%
                  Scooty pep = 50%
                  Pulsar 200 NS = 55%
                  Duke 200 = 60%
                  Discover 125 = 30% (Worst)
                  Duke 390 = 40% on my TD
Pulsar RS200 = ?, not sure to know from TD
CBR250 = 70% ?, not sure to know from TD
                  Apache 180 = 30% (very bad)

As you see, I have not felt any bikes not even close to the new Activa 3G. It was almost 99.999% vibration less and no engine sound scooter.

Ok thanks a lot.The AS200 didn't suffer from windblast though.yes it did but compared to NS not that much.however it did suffer from crosswinds.I think the bike does well to reach 120 and after that it's a tad tough to keep it at speeds above 125
However it's cool coz I think 80-90 is actually a good cruising speed.I did try the Duke 390 though.as I told before its a monster but man the windblast is absolutely unbearable after 110.very hard to control at that speeds

                    • Re: Motul 5100 on Pulsar AS 200

                      Hey guys,

I changed over from the Bajaj Dtsi 10000 to Motul 5100 15W50 at 2400km on odo.
I must say it takes a bit of running (70-100km) before you start feeling the difference.
And boy WHAT a difference! The bike is now vibeless while cruising at 100+kmph,
and the engine feels a lot free-er and revv-ier.

Vibes have a lot to do with the chain condition as well, which is what I've felt even on my
previous steeds - Yamaha R15 V1 and the Pulsar NS200. I got my bike washed and cleaned
thoroughly, cleaned and lubed the chain and got the oil changed to Motul 5100 and the bike
                      immediately felt showroom fresh!

Top speed I touched on the Dtsi oil was 142kmph, will be riding to Manipal this weekend and I'll
definitely get a chance to test the top speed again. I'm going to stick to Motul 5100 for a long time
because I feel it's good quality, especially at the price of Rs. 500 per liter. Just the other day I was
cruising effortlessly at 130kmph on my way to work, with my friend's D200 for company!
A good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!

NS doesn't suffer till 110. By adding AS200 wind shield, NS can do 120. But our roads are good for 110 kph, no matter you have a pulsar or benelli. D390 is no exception, any naked bikes suffer. If you can ride without worrying about wind, you can touch 140 in Pulsar or 170 in D390. 100-110 kph is good cruising speed, where you will munch more miles.

The windshield helps a lot as I have 200AS and I can feel it.definitely one should try it.initially I felt it was a gimmick but yesterday I realized it as when I sat in Duke the bind blast after 110 was absolutely untolarable .
Good luck on the trip brother

I'm trying to get AS200 windshield from the last month onward, but they are saying it's still yet to come from bajaj, still unavailable [emoji20] [emoji16]

The full fairing bike can help to some extend. But can't deal with heavy winds. Also at high speed i cant enjoy the ride rather have to keep full concentration on road only

Yes you are right.but still you can feel the difference.
AS is a new bike so its gonna be tough to get the windshield now.I stay in Bangalore so I will ask the dealer here.if he has it then I can courier it to you if it's okay with you as there are high chances of getting it here in Bangalore.
