Ha ha ha, you should have driven ns or even duke. Duke>NS>AS>RS in handling and zigzag rides and its the reverse side at high speed stability [emoji6]

AS is good choice if you can't wait for new launches, good luck

      TVS200 (apache), by feb 2016

TVS will give more for the bang. Abs, performance at the same cost of pulsar.

AS is good for longer rides, but with a windshield in ns and a custom projector, you can transform ns to as [emoji6] [emoji106]

hornet will be less powered for same reason i removed gixxer sf from my list else i was almost killed by her beauty and engine sounds.
mojo will be out of budget so mojo out
cant wait till feb 2016 already i m late to get bike as per my plans.
as will be best choice for now . as next 5 yrs i will be using same bike.

Okay, i finalized on ns since i didn't like duke200, short geared, and bad pillion. Though i love ns very much, i also had d390 on my eyes. But what recently caught me off is the mojo, a great cruiser with more power and torque. Also expect it with abs option and will be a great value for money, cursing cbr. If i had not purchased ns or if it became unavailable, id have opted for mojo

By the way, AS is a good choice for your needs.

            Take a look at this

Exclusive: Mahindra Mojo Specs Revealed, Bookings Open | BikeDekho.com

            Few interesting things
            1. Huge amount of torque at very low RPM, cruise like floating on water with no effort in city\highway
            2. Led lights, daytime lights, I love that on the rvm :-)
            3. Huge disc brake, USD susp, bigger rear tyre, but ABS unknown
            4. Twin headlight, twin exhaust - a killer look
            5. Weighs less than even RS and CBR, so imagine the crazy pick up
            6. Pricing is unknown.
            7. Very good ride and pillion seats compared to rivals.
            8. Finally good review from the test riders

I'm eagerly waiting for launch and will surely move over sooner. I'm not sure about the launch. Motorbeam said it's going to hit by this festival season, which I believe maybe sept end \oct. I guess pricing can be anywhere form 1.5-2L but you can wait to see the launch (If the pricing is ok, but sure >1.5L)

Hi Rahul. I was so busy arguing with the manager regarding replacement of my projector headlamps that I completely forgot to click snaps
These vibes creep in at around 3~4.5k rpm in 1st to 3rd gears. Pretty much the rev-band we use in traffic and general city riding!

U need to open the windscreen and the black plastic one piece which surrounds the instrument console.
It has multiple screws, both allen and star types holding it in place. Once to expose the instrument console, u will notice 2 bolts holding the cluster n place to a skeleton on sorts which make up the front head.

The bolts need to be opened and rubber washers/double sided tape can be attached to firm up the excessive play the bolts have.
Once done, the loose movement of the cluster reduces a lot and the vibes are history!

Hey [MENTION=29201]neoakshay[/MENTION], that will work great, but only if you bolt the nuts back on with rubber washers or double sided tape to fix them in place, else the bolts are bound to loosen up in a 100~200 kms or soo....

                  3. You might have got a defective unit
                  4. Touch air filter and that's the starting point of ruining the bike
                  5. Less torque around 4-5k, no this bike has a linear power delivery, again this bike could have had a problem.
Exactly.I also thought the same.Changing a new bike Air Filter is never recommended. Also torque low on AS200 is something which is not possible.I agree its not as Breadth taking as Duke 200 but also 200AS has enough torque for city

NS will be the only direct competitor (unless we get CS). It will resume back sometime soon. I'd advice you to wait some more time, unless you are in urgent need of a bike right now. We are going to get new model launches soon.

I'm specially looking for tvs model and the next month launch mojo, mojo looks so promising, well capable and more powerful

By the way, AS is good choice than RS. Because for the cost of rs, i'd buy a duke unless i want fairing.
Well firstly I should had added a PS stating I have made up my mind already, because riding a splendor from the past few months is really painful for me, especially the fact that I can't go anywhere outside city and definitely can't go any faster. . . Now coming to what you said, I wish and I want to wait for the Apache 200 but again there's no concrete news whether it's going to be launched this year or not, and one of the best advice I got from many people is that "If you choose to wait, you'll be waiting forever as there'll be better products coming every now and then" and moreover NS ticks all the boxes in my wishlist for a bike (i.e., performance, power, handling, maintenance, fuel efficiency, comfortable and may be a little adventure riding too). . . So it'd be foolish on my part to ignore the one that's for me and wait for something else. . .

Will be picking my AS within few days' time and nope I seriously can't continue riding on a splendor and YES I luv d AS . . . Just want to know if there are any niggles in the bike, also feel that the AS is better than NS, from refinement to few other things like windblast protection, Projector headlamp n so on. . .

                      Cheers!!!

Right, any day listen to what your mind says and your heart goes. I was just providing suggestions and choices. TVS plans to launch by next year feb which I believe is too much of a time in your case. AS is an excellent choice, both AS and NS are same just apart from some cosmetic changes + wind shield which makes it better touring machine than NS, even the RS except for fairing and FI. In general FI system can tweak a little more power than carb system, but again adding of weight compensates for the lag. That's the same reason why a Duke200 accelerates quicker than CBR250 initially.

And at this budget, you only are left out with Suzuki Gixxer SF, but you can't compare the performance of the two. AS outperforms almost everything in double to gixxer. But gixxer is best in mileage and city commuting and is picking better sales than AS\NS.

AS is the best the money can get for you at this time. Just make sure to check PDI and get your bike, share pictures. Also make sure you get mrf, and prepare to wait even you have to wait.

2000 is huge. I guess duke also would have increased. Bglore on-road is very costly compared to Chennai and other cities. I too bought my NS for 1.01L and I enquired for duke200, it was 1.53L. The next month they increased it to 1.06 L, and Duke200 to 1.62L whooping 6K+ for pulsar

D200 has short gearing, making you shift often than pulsar 200. As a result, you hit the RPM limit soon, hence max torque reachability is always quick, where as pulsar's longer gear makes you to reach the max torque after some time and making it l bit a tad slow. Make the pulsar 200 gear units tweaked as duke, you will almost get similar performance as Duke 200. But other than that Duke has good quality parts, handling, bigger tires, less weight a lot. Another factor is weight. Weight places a very important role in power-weight ratio. So drag a Duke200 and RS200, Duke will quickly smoke RS, where as the RC200 vs RS200, the difference will be less, as RS weighs more. Check drag races of RS200 and 200NS, they almost will be same because they weigh very close. 1-2 bhp is not a big deal here.

I'd say Pulsar 200 (whatever AS,NS,CS etc) will be an all-rounder unlike Duke\RC which is targeted foe certain audience only.

Obviously there is a fan present in LC engine, else whats the use of liquid cooling.

From your post it seems that you own a AS200 haven't you witnessed the fan starting on its own when the temperature rises up ???
