After a lot of confusion between the rs and the as (the tourer in me won) booked my black as today. I am upgrading to the as after riding 220 fi from 2007 to 2010 and then 220f from 2010 till date. Any comments on how different it really is, I have taken the test ride but owners inputs would be great

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Well its not much of a difference to be frank but ya the torque is more here.the engine is really really relaxed even at 100 speed since u have 6 gears .mono shocks so feel is a bit different .the torque band is fat throughout the rev range and power is almost equal if not a little more than 220.Originally posted by hypergamer View PostAfter a lot of confusion between the rs and the as (the tourer in me won) booked my black as today. The engine is really well refined compared to the 220.although you might not find a lot of difference between the two but once you ride this bike you really wouldn't feel going back to 220 at all.

Pheeew....CBR 150 is not even considered as a worthy competitor to compare with AS200 other than having Honda badge, look at the sales chart and you will know why still R15 is making more than 2000 sales every month whereas CBR150 is struggling to pass even 500 sales figures.Originally posted by heman_idle View Postcool bro i am comparing AS200 with cbr150r not with cbr 250r..
CBR250 is still worthy to buy than any Pulsar, besides if you have money

Ok, since you have booked the bike, there is no point in comparing with other models, but you have decided a right choice. But RS/AS both perform the same, infact RS will be slightly slower in acceleration than AS200. If you are not a fairing lover, there is no reason to spend extra for RS. Instead buy AS and spend 10-15K for riding jackets, etc. On road, both will perform the same. Even Bajaj says engine refinements are better in RS, but I couldn't find it any better when riding.Originally posted by hypergamer View PostAfter a lot of confusion between the rs and the as (the tourer in me won) booked my black as today. Don't expect a rocket from AS200 as you already are coming from P220. But here is what you can enjoy with this motorbike
1. Smooth engine (not like Unicorn yet)
2. Better gearbox
3. Excellent handling (You can take knee touching corners easily)
4. Rev friendly
5. Good brakes
6. Comfortable cruising speed of 100-110 kph all day
7. You can even ride on deep water stagnant on roads without engine turning off
(See youtube for NS)
AS is quicker than P220 maybe by a second or two to P220 in a quarter mile. And in longer rides, AS200 will disappear in front of P220.
Ride safe, buy riding gears if possible.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Maybe the bulb got busted? Not likely for bulbs to bust this soon, check if you can mange to remove the bulb yourself or get it to svc.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostGuys only my high beam is working.low beam doesn't work.any idea.it rained today though.
And yes, in 220/as200's headlights, if low beam is not working, then the high beam is forced to switch on (vice-versa).
And if you cant replace the bulb on warranty then i would suggest you to get a better bulb locally, like Philips one (don't remember the full name) costs around 800-1000.
Or you can go for Osram H7 costs around 300-400..It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Check for your headlight control unit. It may be defective. Change it under warranty if found faulty.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostHard to say HR.but then it was raining when I started the bike.the light was on for 2-3 seconds after that it went down.
Other causes may be lose connection, fuse. Its not the Bike that makes a Biker perfect, its a Biker who makes his Bike perfect :)

Okay.may be its the fuse.but whatever it is it does come under warranty right.if its the fuse where is it located so that I can see once ?Originally posted by alliwanted View PostCheck for your headlight control unit. It may be defective. Change it under warranty if found faulty.

Also if its the bulb does the entire front unit gets replaced or only the bulb inside projector.and is it under warranty ?

Sounds like a fuse blown post some short circuit as a result of a water log. No idea where the fuse is. Take it to service center.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostHard to say HR.but then it was raining when I started the bike.the light was on for 2-3 seconds after that it went down.
There's no this should be happening under rain, Bajaj should be accused for making a faulty make. If things like this happens, how does Bajaj project this as adventure sport?. How can we safely take it out for adventure rides?, an adventure without light

Hey man.. I had and fixed the same issue a few days earlier. The low beam flickered in the beginning, then will refuse to switch on 1 fine day!
The bulb is shot most likely.
Answers
1) Bulb is under warranty!
2) Only the bulb gets replaced. The projector lens setup is untouched.
3) The bulb can be accessed from beneath the headlight unit. A competent svc mech shouldn't open the headlight assembly, nor should you let them do it. Once opened, the assembly becomes a hotbed for moisture, water and eventual headlight failures.
Cheers!

I agree. Maybe some low beam bulbs were of shoddy quality. With so much money at their disposal, i wonder why Bajaj doesn't invest more in QC.
My ever-present rear disc noise has returned. Thinking of living with it, tired of visiting the svc
Ticking sound from engine started. Most likely tappet noise. should I ignore it and get it fixed in 2nd service? (Which is many months away!) or jump at the SVC throats right now?
