Whatever may be the driving condition, i guess 37 is too low

10km/day is obviously very low....example if u fill fuel in day 1 reverve it takes nearly 4 days to consume 1 litre of petrol...between these 3 days min 100-200ml petrol will get evoporate ....so how can u get the good/actuall millage of ur bike......

my case is entirely differnet...i drive min 50km daily.....in 18 days of purchase i have closed 900km in odo.

earlly i got 60.8..28...36....43....60....41....83.....like.....now im not tested after 1st service.....

i like to take my gs long drive can i do that still900km..1st service done...what is max speed i can go...

Now am little scared over vensan's problems.

Guys help me out here please...

      hi man,

i m posting my personnal experiences....not all the bke will have that same probs...moreover im watching my bke very closely..i nver concentrate on road even..the noice and gear sounds are quite audible since the engine is very smooth u cannt feel any other sound so gear sound is more audible.......but in other bikes engine sound supress the gear sound and other noise which is common in all the bikes.

hope im clear...so we're hearing some sound(which iscommented in -ve's even by me)bcoz we don't have any other sound from the engine.

coming to pick up....s...quite lesser than other 150 at initials...

for my other complaints as commented by other owners ...it will set right after some time of drive......

so don't worry....im happy with my gs but not much ,bcoz im a perfectionist.

wait half a minute(idling) after starting the bike in morning,

for first 3-4kms drive it under 4000rpm, dont accelerate too much(10% of throttle position exactly)

then you rip as you wish... this will ensure good mileage and engine life.

you can push engine speed till 6k rpm(80kmph@6th gear) no harm

          83kmpl is too much
according to zigwheels test ride it gave 74kmpl in highway without braking

I agree with vensan on this.....10km is obviously too low per day....you will not be able to measure the mileage correctly....
my friend drives nearly 40kms per day.....and the odo has clocked more than 3000kms....he has finished his 2nd service also....
Just before the first service and sometime after the 1st service his mileage also was very low....around 40...
but now after the 2nd service the bike has improved immensely...
He is getting a mileage of around 54-55kmpl in he city driving conditions.....and also the vibs have reduced and overall the pickup too has been good....
I think the bike performance is becoming better the more kms it runs....

Ok so other guys who have run more than 2500kms or 3000kms plz post their reviews about the bike performance now....
the new guys who want to purchase the bike are skeptical....
post your comments so that....they get more confidence in the bike to buy it......
            cheers.....

              Hi Vasan
I do agree 10km per day is low...
Even i had a doubt about the vaporing thing initally.. Even when i ride longer distances sometimes, i get the same figures 37kmpl..
Last friday i took it to SC and confirmed with a 200ml can.... When calculated, it too reported only 36.7kmpl
So, i don't think vaporing will have that much of impact if u shut u petrol valve when parked
The service guys tried tuning about 3 times, finally attained 43kmpl and they gave up since it was getting late... Maybe next time i have to drop my bike early and get it corrected...

This time i'll take in Sivakumar's valuable advice and observe the result....
              Thanks to all

Everyone write the maximum speed you were able to achieve on your GS...

(by this we'll know how fast bike can go)

Max. speed attained by me is 116 km/h

Most of the GS owners are first time bike owners and those who are 2nd or 3rd bike owners compare this to their old bikes and find some things which they call "negative" but are really subjective to them only. I mean its obvious to compare with old bike, but its not just all. "No offense to anybody at all". Every company has some speciality both features wise and technologically. Suzuki differs from from other companies. For ex. GS initially may not be smoother as unicorn, but after u ride few thousand kms u notice its getting smoother n smoother.... A friend of mine bought unicorn 3 months back and when he rode my GS, he was regretting why he didn't buy GS. I don't at all have any complaints about bike... brakes and headlight are "enough" if not good. Read the Zigwheel's test review. On last Sunday, I tested my GS in very very worst road and weather conditions and GS proved to be "best of best" in quality !!!! I scare to post photos of what I did and where I took my GS... some of u will just think Im mad.. I bet no other GS owner on xbhp would have taken their bike to such extreme places !!!! Nothing at all happened to my bike. Its all perfect.

U may get disappointed even if u over expect from say any German car...

SO just be cool guys.... Enjoy ! Be proud. U own a little brother of Gixxer !!

                    Well said Guru 007 ...

Thanks guys for your posts... I am seriously thinking of going for a GS150R. All of your posts have increased my confidence level. I just took the poll to see if any of you are really negative about your choice and if so why?

But looks like you all are very happy with GS and proud to own one. I have a Suzuki Fiero at the moment. After 8 years of hard riding, the bike is still great in terms of pick-up and performance. It still gives me about 35-37 km/liter. People get amazed that I have not even changed my Clutch-plate or the Ring-piston or the carburetor etc. So I have my sight set for Suzuki from my great experience. I know it will not let me down.

Cheers and happy riding and a Happy Friendship Day!

                    • Guys,
Clocked 6700kms till date from the day I got my bike on 27-Mar-09.Done 3 services & 4th coming up in the next 300kms.Took my bike to Shirdi just after 1st service & then to Malshej ghat in the rains.Running every day comes to 70km where I do some racing & normal riding & smetimes even ride @ 30-40km/hr. The bike has never let me down & in future will never I know. The bike becomes smoother each day & love to ride it on long trips. The bike has bad headlight but you can always put auxilary lights for better results.

Even if this bike DOES NOT have an instant pickup, but once you are in the 6th gear & you rev the bike you will see others in your RVM.I LOVE this bike for the perfect features of a 150cc & the good mileage it gives.

                      @Chief
I also own a Nov 2002 Fiero which has clocked 90,000kms till date & is running strong. The GS150R runs the same way as the Fiero infact it runs faster than that beacuse of the 6th gear.If you LOVE your Fiero,yo will LOVE the GS150R.Trust me.

ALL THE BEST for your new ride.Ride hard & Ride safe.

WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY !!!!

This bike is really amazing man..... My house owner said that this bike looks stunning... Some people in my office also asked me the same... some people stop by me at the signal and ask about the rate and milleage...... This makes me feel gr8... But still I see only one or two GS150s in the IT highway in chennai.....

One small fellow (3 years kid) in by apartments is crazy about my bike that he went to the extend of cursing his dad's bike.

But when people ask about the mileage, i have to think twice b4 answering them
