@ vajra_blr
Its not alot power mode is powerful, eco mode is economical.
My answer may sounds simple and fun but the fact is same do refer previous pages of this thread for complete details
@mazaid53,
Those issues are related to first few batches of 2009 model gs150r
The current version of gs150r is a well matured complete bike there is no major or minor issues in generic so what you need to do is to check and pick the good piece from dealer.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

There are at present no major issues on the gs 150 r.. Small problems may be
- Headlight may not be that much powerful.(it can be eliminated by changing the bulbs..u can get the advice from senior members here. ) the change may not be necessary.. we can survive with that..
-pillion riders may find it difficult to sit as the seat is very height for them
Apart from this there are no technical pbms on the bike..
It's one of the best bike in 150 cc category..Well maintained bikes seems to give mileage of around 55-65kms..U can go ahead and get the delivery.. Before taking the delivery check the bike completely
All the best!!Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by its breathtaking moments.

@Turbo_Biker STI...i read one of your post here...
ofcoz the GS150R is indeed a good bike...but i really would want you to write for me...(im too lazy to write my trip logs..plus not so good in adding all the masala
) jokes apart...you really can bring out a good screenplay !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

oh my goodnesss.......GS are now selling like hot cakes!!!!i went today to the showroom to buy a GS for my cousin and the sales guy was like "saheb teen hafta waiting hai.....rukna padega"
while i parked my bike outside, an uncle with his, i suppose college going kid tried checking out my bike(it was shining with all its glory in the bright sunshine as it was washed and teflon coated the previous day).........the kid was all going GAGA over it telling abhi college me yeh hi chal rahi hai.....dikhne me sholet hai aur petrol bhi kam khati hai (they must have come from some rural area by their language)and uncle was saying suzuki ka bharosa nahi!!
we were watching it silently and the sales guy went near him and told its some of the first bikes to be sold by his showroom and that too in 2009........that uncle was dumbstruck........he called me "beta zara side me aa" ...i went....he asked me tu bhi college me hai kya.....i said yes.....he asked me my college's name i politely replied Xaviers it is!
he told his kid "beta woh bade college walo ki bike hai tu splendor le aur kaam chala"
his kid literally ran into tears.....it will be offensive to call him a kid as he was nearly 6feet tall with a average build....
that uncle again came to me and said....."beta future me koi problem to nahi degi na.....ek ek karke paisa jama kiya hai"
i felt so emotional at that time......and after a few minutes of emotional atyachaar he finally booked the GS.....
i learnt a lesson today ' No matter how much does one is able to spend for their child they love them to the core of their hearts and give them all the facilities while remaining hungry themselves '

i hadnt seen this...why the unwanted attention man !Originally posted by Maestro View Postbut 133kmph on odo is achievable i achieved it on a slope though and 129kmph on straight road....even my friend NInaD aka Nin registered a whopping 135kmph on his pulsar135
....but that was on a super slope.....
you bet !Originally posted by MACH50 View PostI have done 155kmph atop a Pulsar 220,whereas the GPS logged speed was only 136kmph !!!!! It leaves a room for more than 20% speedo error on Bajaj bikes
my bad ! thanks for pointing that out...was so excited couldnt resist replying to his post!Originally posted by MSN1 View PostBrother nin instead of posting this here , its wise to send the same info on private message to him (turbo_biker STI) Rite.

gulf pride 1800 kms on gs150r
It was almost 1800 kms passed on my gs150r with gulf pride oil
Symptoms:
Morning cold start is not normal in the past 15 days.
Gear change is rough hard to get neutral did oiled and cleaned the chain checked chain play all are fine, still gear change is rough.
Past two days engine sound was too highand rough noticeable even with helmet.
Looked into the oil thru the glass window it was thick and in brickred colour.
Decided to change oil, as I have one more bottle of gulf pride in stock.
Took the old oil out, OMG ! it was so thick looks as if it will became more thick like a paste with in another 600 kms, after changing oil bike is silent again gear change is so smooth and all above listed symptoms are disappeared.
Analysed the old oil able to see lot of powder like particle sediments which gives the thickness.
Think the dusty city air caused this, felt frequent oil change is required for city drive, what do you say ? share your thoughts guyz ?Last edited by MSN1; 01-17-2011, 11:48 AM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

I had used Gulf 20W50 in my Lancer and found it to be below par.It is not good and starts to form Varnish like coating on the Valves and other parts. The oil was 15moths old and 4,000Kms.Originally posted by MSN1 View PostIt was almost 1800 kms passed on my gs150r with gulf pride oil

Changed car's oil to Shell 20W50 and it made a significant difference. The engine is smooth and revs much more easily .
If you get Shell oil for bikes go for it...it is better than Gulf...But people are getting better result with Motul....just my thought.

Heard from so many that shell helix is good for car's but shell doesn't have the jaso ma2 standard oil for our GS shell is still good for 100cc bikes but in our GS did tried shell and its as bad as veedol thus changed it with in 300 kms.Originally posted by psr View PostI had used Gulf 20W50 in my Lancer and found it to be below par.It is not good and starts to form Varnish like coating on the Valves and other parts. The oil was 15moths old and 4,000Kms.
