They're going to launch CB300R. So that's a start actually. Now, all we need is some more competitive pricing and maybe the CB190R.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostWell said bro, At the end of day people need long lasting engine rather than just fancy/techie motorcycle.. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guys recently i have been getting the feeling of steering feeling relatively heavy.... Not quite so but it's noticeable.... The air pressure, tire tread is all good....
Nothing has been done to the forks or stem...
I am not much knowledgeable about the front part of the bike so can anyone tell me what's happening and how can i correct it...??

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Guys wanted to provide an update.
Completed around 500km so far and will be taking the bike to service over the weekend. During break in, varying rpms and driving in both highways and city. Took it upto 7k rpm a couple of times. Engine seem to be getting refined after 400km. Not sure if it's an illusion. Lol.
One major problem i see from day 1 is headlight throw. It's simply not useful at all. I see there are posts which says high beam or pass light with dim lights are good, but imo all are inadequate.
Are there any good brand lights which has worked for you? Also moving to halogen lamps from led will help with the throw or better options available in led itself?
I have a lots of night driving to do and this seems to be a big deal breaker to me. Price is not a concern. Appreciate any help on this matter.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
The halogen version had decent version light throw. I've them in fog every now and then. Clear enough for me. Anyhow, I've had my friend fix Pilot/Aux lights anyway. They are always helpful to have. Coming to the 2018 version, the LEDs are most useless ones I've seen so far. Shame on Honda for giving such poor headlamps. Even the x-Blade which boasts having such a nice headlamp, doesn't give much good beam in foggy conditions. I suggest you get secondary aux lights fixed on your bike or install a NightEye bulb in your headlamp.Originally posted by Ramhonda View PostGuys wanted to provide an update.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
White light is always bummer in fog condition. When light falls on fog, it scatter and turns like a white wall. Halogen lights have little yellowish tint that's why they are a bit better in fog condition. If you have LED headlight which had good throw in pitch dark, you can DIY apply a clear yellow film and see if it works.Originally posted by Ramhonda View PostGuys wanted to provide an update.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
A quick update on my 2018 Hornet. I've just got my drive chain tightened once in 10.5k kms. I lubricate it based on the feel and the sprockets are doing great as well. I think this set will easily last another 10k kms or even more. Regarding the engine front, it's damn refined.(I've started using shell 10w40 fs since 8k kms, which in fact wasn't necessary in winter though) I just hear a valve clearance noise in the morning when the engine is cool. Will get it checked on the 12k service. The transmission between first and second at times is abit rough. Other than that, the gearbox has turned out to be smooth as well. I'm getting a mileage of 45 in city riding conditions of Hyderabad.(I shift gears above 5.5k rpm on a minimum from 3rd to 5th).Highway mileage is of something around 50 if ridden up-to 85kmph along with a few moments of 100kmph run and 38 kmpl if ridden above 95 kmph consistently. I've no complaints whatsoever with the bike's quality standards, except for the damn kill switch and Leds. I've got the leds adjusted along with the headlight projector from ASC. It's not adequate for highways but I don't prefer riding at nights as well. For city riding, the current set up is okayish. I use the pass light for temporary lightning of the road at corners and streets with potholes. I prefer not to use the high beam. Hazard lights are really helpful in foggy morning rides on highways. Finally had them serve their purpose. [emoji14]. I'm not inclined towards aux lights since I love to maintain my bike stock. ( not a single sticker on my bike other than the parking sticker for My Office). But, if I may have to add aux lamps, I'd like to have inputs from y'all if there are any plug and play ones which don't involve me cutting any wire in the relay. Hornet is one bike I can suggest anyone in 160cc any day[emoji16]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Adding to the above. I didn't see any squid on a hornet till date. A decent or a mature guy's bike. I know it has a lot to do with the low end torque which puts the squids away from it [emoji6]. I love it when my Dad drives it especially.
Here's a pic below which I captured riding our 15 plus years old passion. Though unclear. I feel like sharing with y'all.

Is your bike became smooth in 3k kilometers, i am currently on 3k kilometers and still the engine is very viby, chain slack and lubrication is as per recommended settings.Originally posted by winturf99 View PostA quick update on my 2018 Hornet. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I felt not much vibes from the beginning. It turned out to be smooth day after day. I felt a complete transformation after second service. Ask the service personnel to check for your clutch adjustment. Faulty clutch assembly can result in harshness of the engine as well as vibrations in few parts near the engine.Originally posted by #bpk View PostIs your bike became smooth in 3k kilometers, i am currently on 3k kilometers and still the engine is very viby, chain slack and lubrication is as per recommended settings.
However, I'd suggest to wait till 6k kms before getting it checked. Changing to fully synthetic does bring out a change in refinement as well which could better be done after the oil replaced in second service gets dirty which will be somewhere around 8.5k kms if your second service is done on 6k kms. If you feel harshness in gearshifts it's mostly got to do with the chain lubrication than the gearbox or engine.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I don't know much about it too but the book says improperly adjusted nut or damage to cone bearings. Either it requires readjustment or replacement. In some Hornets, this was an issue. If you put the vehicle in main stand, somebody pressing the rear wheel down, can you with minimal effort (with one fingertip) make the handlebar fall to the left or right?Originally posted by adityagaur51 View PostHey guys recently i have been getting the feeling of steering feeling relatively heavy.... Thats good mileage and driving/upkeep of the bike. Isn't it wonderful how a 2-valve 1-plug japanese engine delivers this mileage, has decent power, and doesnt suffer from carbonization problems.Originally posted by winturf99 View PostA quick update on my 2018 Hornet. 3000 kms is more than enough for a factory engine to smoothen out. Don't keep waiting further - there might be something wrong. I understand this is not as quiet and mellow as the Unicorn 150 but it should not vibrate excessively.Originally posted by #bpk View PostIs your bike became smooth in 3k kilometers, i am currently on 3k kilometers and still the engine is very viby, chain slack and lubrication is as per recommended settings.Last edited by ashwanth.r; 01-18-2019, 08:57 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Thanks for that. Lubrication and oil change on time. That's just what a Honda demands. Yes, I don't suffer from any issues of spark plug carbonization. The efficiency and refinement makes me feel like it'll last pretty long if taken proper care of. I feel like wearing out the stock tyres soon and replace them with Mrf masseters.[emoji14] Current ones are good for dry conditions, but wet roads, they just slide over.

Hi, other than vibrations everything seems normal, no tappet sound , starts in a single kick, goes easily to 110 kmph with pillion, how to convince svc about vibes, please guide.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostI don't know much about it too but the book says improperly adjusted nut or damage to cone bearings.
