What oil do they use in cbr ? Is its an synthetic oil? Friend , i got my bike after second service , and i need to pay only 330rs so am damn sure they have not used FS , ( What oil do you think they used??) I am not getting what to do now. 3rd free servicing is so long till that i will not goin to ride on same oil so i will now change oil after some 2300kms+ (right now its 3900kms) So shall i change oil in svc or outside? And if i use other than honda oil will it void warrenty? Or what oil shall i say him to use if i change oil at svc ? What is the name of Honda FS Oil ? So i will buy it by my own and show him. And trust me, after having owned like 5-6 bikes of various brands, I've not yet met ONE such mechanic in the official service center.

This is when I decided to look for an mechanic with GOOD knowledge, and who'd respond to my dimwit questions in an enlightening fashion. So now I go to a garage, co-owned by two automobile engineers , going to give my Hornet to those guys for first servicing too (voiding the warranty of course)
So tell me the next step , what shall i do now? Do you really think that they used old oil for my bike ? 3rd service is too long i.e., @ 12000kms and i will definatly i cant drive on this f#####n 330rs oil so long , so i will change it soon after 1500-2000kms. So tell me the oil name i can buy myself and say that dumbo to change it. And one more important thing i wanted to konw that the performance factors Such as (pickup, average , engine sound and vibes , smoothness , and top speed for each gear?)

Brother, oil used in cbr is synthetic and it's called Honda Throttle. It's packed in black bottle. Costs 700 rs. for 1 ltr. In 330 rs. They should have used mineral oil. Jiat run for 2000 km. More and change to honda synthetic.

I prefer to stay with honda throttle as external oil will void warranty if they will be able to prove in case of any issue with bike.

Ok brother thank you. I need to wait till this oil gets evaporated. What are the positive points or changes will be seen in Hornet after switching to cbr150 oil i.e., honda throttle oil in terms of :
            1) Pickup
            2) Throttle response
            3) Smoothness
            4) Engine noise and vibes
            5) Average
            6) Top speed for each gear will increase?

            Thank you !

              .
Your ODO is only 3900km. It is advisable to change to FS after 6-8K ODO. You bike is old enough now to go for some stress test.
Are you doing following once in a while to make engine better and gets it potential -
              1. A little high speed (30-40) at lower gear 1st and 2nd. .
              2. Go for 80Kmph speed in 4th gear.
              3. How many times you crossed 100Kmph.

FS oils are too smooth and will not brush your engine further. Get your engine full potential before switching to FS.

You are in warranted period, if bike is too rough in bracket of 70-85Kmph even after running for many times. There might be issue and service center should resolve.
If you are asking to change to FS ask them not to change oil while servicing but strictly in front of you.

So shall i change oil in svc or outside?
Yes, you can do it. Any nearby shop or even you can change it without any hassle.

                1) I manage to go on 35 @ 2nd gear but it makes an awful noise.

                2) I never gone on 80kmph @4th gear because it starts making an noise at 55kmph So i dont stress and soon apply 5th gear.

                3) And yes i never gone above or at 100. Till now my maximum speed is 78kmph

okay now i will run her on 70-85 bracket let me see will it become smooth.

but i also gone on 75 many times @5th gear still i hear some noise though their are air blasts.

Fine ill now try 80 @4th gear. According to you after how many times if i did so , my engine will be free?

Also before 2nd servicing bike was quite smooth i can easily go on 60kmph @4th gear without any problem .but now i can hear an awful sound on 50kmph @4th gear. I dont know what those guys did to my beast.

                    Guys just a suggestion...

Just ride bike and enjoy! Don't get into much technicalities about Hornet.

Just remember if you really want good performance and if Hornet doesn't meet your expectation, then just sell it and buy bigger bike.

These all posts are hate comments kind of stuff....

I hope you understand my point

                        Hey guys..

When i was cleaning the wheels of my hornet, the front wheel felt very hard to be rotated by hand. My friends' bike's front wheels with front disc brake are not as hard as my hornet's and they spin smoothly. So, i took my bike to the service center and then a mechanic from the lowest level checked the wheels and said its normal in CBS system of braking and he will not do anything to the brakes unless my wheels get locked.

Guys with CBS version please tell me if its really normal to have a tighter front wheel than other normal bike wheels with only front disc brakes. You can compare with your friends' non CBS front disc braked bikes with our CBS hornet's and let me know if you feel that difference in the free spin of front wheels.

Thanks in advance for that you gonna spend your time for checking this.

                            To answer your queries,
                            1) No

                            6) No

Also, oil won't evaporate for a VERY long. Don't wait for that long. Another point is, you can bring an empty Honda Throttle tin from SVC for (fake) proof. In reality you can switch to Motul/Mobil-1. Preferably 20W50. I know that there will be a lot of disputes over this opinion of mine, but I think 0Wxx is totally irrelevant in parts of India where annual minimum is around 10deg C for a week tops. So 20W50 might not start as nicely as 0W40, but the outright performance will be felt right from the first gear at higher rev ranges.

                              1. Vibes and difficulty in revving generally means engine oil degradation. So the service center guys probably changed your engine oil to something so bad that it was worse than your previously in-use (and used for 1k+ kms) oil.
                              2. You shouldn't worry about tightness of brakes.
                              3. Pickup can relate to engine oil, as well fuel quality. Let the current fuel dry out, fill some nice petrol and then check.
I have clocked 39 kmph in first gear & the bike feels to go more. This is because it is geared taller
