So I finally completed all works on the custom visor installation today.

    - As stated previously, an AS200 visor was used. Custom clamps were made from aluminium strips and painted black. (as it can be bent easily and is quite strong).

    - One hole was required to be drilled at the bottom of the visor to bolt it to the number plate clamp.

    - Four false chrome buttons (from a Unicorn according to the mechanic) were used to seal off the additional stock holes on the visor (a total of 4).

    - two small pieces of shoe sole foam were used at the points where the visor is touching the instrument console to totally eliminate vibrations

    - got a TVS Racing sticker done at the local graphics shop and it looks quite nice on the visor IMHO

    Photos attached...

    Hope the above helps!

This article says FI variant has reached dealers.

      http://indianautosblog.com/2017/03/t...-report-260472.

Also TVS had applied for a patent for its own ABS (might be much improved and advanced). And recently TVS got its product patented, so might be ABS and FI will be available within this month or may.

One hour later they call me and tell me that I will have to wait until new speedometer, gear and fuel senors arrives so that they can replace them and check what's faulty. This is so unreasonable and tvs spares takes decades to get orders placed and to be delivered at the service center in my location. Also none of the indicator lights for high beam and all on the speedometer is also not working.

          So much disappointed

Just check the Fuse also and inter-change all the fuse. You can give a try.

Such a shame indeed. Parts failing one after another just isn't conducive to a rider's mood. This is clearly something I feel a blunder from the service center side, during installation and what not. I'd suggest you drop the bike, forward a mail to TVS stating the incident and ask them to duly look into this matter. Bikes getting digital, parts aren't cheap to replace and the parts availability are an altogether different affair even for commuter bikes.

I'd suggest you drop your bike to them, and keep a record of all the events and make it a point to shoot a mail to the folks so that they can respond accordingly. At least for now, that's the only option we have.

I can pretty much safely say this is the bike after Duke series that has required such an extent of windscreen modifications and boy are the folks around here dyed in the wool when it comes to the mods they want, and turned out rather beautifully. Would be great if you can post your reviews on any high speed runs post installation and how has the buffeting experience been, also was wondering, did you observe any flex of the visor itself at high speeds.

              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

              THE END

I haven't had a proper extended run on the highways at that speed yet. Although I did wring the throttle once to hit a hundred and noticed no vibrations at all. Plus it sure did seem to reduce the wind blast, for me more so in a 'half tuck' position as I'm 6'3 and stick out a fair bit over the bike.

Shall update once I manage a few kilometres on highway cruising speeds.

                  Hahahah. Absolutely agree!

Shall update once I have clocked a few kilometres on the highways. I had the same setup on my old FZ and it worked really well on tours to reduce wind fatigue. So I am hoping to get similar results here. The acid test will probably be my Bhutan tour next month!

The visor itself does not flex. However, I expect a minor flex on the aluminium clamps, a spring type effect at high speeds. The visor was installed with a small slant angle and that might help with the air flow.

The service guy told me that it's due to the vehicle sitting stationary for almost a month and it will be fixed after riding 10kms or so. So far i have covered around 60kms and the problem still persists. All the sensors were working fine after the crash and before taking it to the service center. Anyone have any idea as what could be the problem or will it fix itself?
If I may - find a good mechanic who can work electricals in your city. You can find these by snooping around the sbk forums and such. Get in touch with them and ask them if they can work on the RTR200. They will charge you by the hour, but you need only tell them exactly what you need fixed. They will only work on that. These guys generally are good and don't dilly dally. Rest assured, they'll do a better job that any TVS service centre in the country.

P.S. - I know you might be worried about warranty and all that jazz, but believe me, it's better to get your bike fixed right now than wait for the TVS mechanics to learn how to do it right on your vehicle. I had an RTR and had I not obsessed over keeping my warranty intact, I might've had a better experience with the bike. TVS mechanics are muddle heads. Don't peg your hopes on them.

P.P.S - All this obsession over warranty, I have to tell you, pretty much only your engine is covered under it - extended or not. TVS doesn't even extend its warranty to the ABS module. When it comes to TVS engines - they're as bulletproof as a Honda. As long as you love that engine and show it, you'll never have reason to worry about engine failure on a RTR. Warranty isn't going to reduce the costs you incur down the road because of the incompetency of the TVS mechanics.
