Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Have gone through same situation as urs for last couple of weeks..got a chace to test rode both three or four times and decided to go with fz... Coz of strict budget around 1.35 lks and yaa fe... I think if the budget dont restrict you and you can compensate on fe compared to fz25 (tat might not be a concern for you coz u already own a re 500) you are good to go wth dominar. In my openion the dominar is superior compared to fz but the fz25 is the next best thing u can buy compared to all 200+cc bikes... At the end of the day each one has its own pros and cons..Originally posted by VJdesert View Post

I enquired the same with dealer, as per them next launch will fazer250 then r3 bs4 version then may be there is a possibility of ABS version of fz25. I think it may take another 1year. Myself so inclined to dominar.. Lets see... Thanks for your reply mate.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostWait if you can. Buy it you must. Buy gear first. Don't get fz25 unless they offer front abs. No point getting more of what you have anyway. Hth

Yes bhai, FE and budget doesnt matter much... But i need a peace of mind.Originally posted by Gkn View PostHave gone through same situation as urs for last couple of weeks..got a chace to test rode both three or four times and decided to go with fz... Service should happen once every 6 months.Originally posted by VJdesert View PostYes bhai, FE and budget doesnt matter much... But i need a peace of mind.

Oil change will happen every 5k kms.
Paid service expenses should not go beyond 1500-2000.
There is one thing though. FZ25 is in the proximity of 140kg and dominar is a good 40 kilos heavier. Agreed that the weight is not fealt while riding but if you lose control, she is bound to break a leg. You shouldn't try but imagine dropping a gas cylinder on your leg and it will still hurt less.
Sure it's common sense not to try kill yourself on any bike but damage will be higher to you and the bike.
The point is. ABS is a must if you are spending more than a lakh. You also have a working fz that will last for another year easy.
Unless you want to plan long Highway trips frequently, dominar will be just just an average bike which costs a lot of money.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I bought my dominar on 27th jan 2017. It is facing battery issues and not power starting since may 2017. Went to khivraj bajaj (Where i bought the bike) to resolve the issue. First 2 times they charged the battery and gave which didnt slove the problem. The third time i went and asked for replacement of battery on 15th july. My bike is in the service center since then. They assured that replacement will be given but they are just saying some reasons and postponing since 3 weeks. Bought a high end bike with hard earned money and now calling them daily to get it back. It has been so frustrating. What should i do now. any help?

Explain your issue. This should get sorted out soon. I am equally frustrated with ASS.

Also get the stator or rectifier checked. It this faulty battery can not get the charge and the cells would die slowly.Originally posted by vigneshv View PostI bought my dominar on 27th jan 2017. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Coming to Bajaj quality, there are many guys doing more than 2 lakhs on Bajaj pulsars, I personally know a guy that rips a puny 135LS everyday and still has 120k on odo, and a guy in NS thread already posted his NS doing 125k.Originally posted by VJdesert View PostHi guys,
I am great confusion as some of you already have, i live in Bangalore and own classic 500, 3 months back i met an accident because of wheel lockup in loose sand and the pain on my right shoulder still continues. Ever since i am really scared to take my bullet outside. Lately i have been doing test rides of both fz25 and dominar.. In my view despite of the weight of dominar it handles in traffic really well and the added safety features are just too awesome. Coming to fz25 it felt really quick. And the braking is also very decent. More easier than dominar.. I still have one fz16 which is nearing to 120000 km.. So i can vouch the quality of fz series. I never own a bajaj bike nor anyone in my family and close friends circle.
So my question is can i go ahead and buy dominar with eyes closed and fingers crossed?? Or wait for any abs version of fz25?? Or any other bike you guys suggest?
Coming to fz25, the bike has paint issues for many people I know, but I guess that would be in a certain batch, can't be sure.
The engine on fz25 is tried and tested, derived from decade old machine. The bike lacks in tech and safety features, but has lesser weight and power.
At the end of the day, its your pick.
