There will be a U shape and L shape holders which holds the swingarm. I just checked it we can buy U shape which is safe, L shape is more generic which can be used for all bikes

            Hello guys,

Someone just pointed me to an article online which says that in order to change the engine oil in Dominar, you are supposed to take off the entire exhaust assembly?

Can you guys please confirm if this is the case?

Also can you please confirm if the air filter replacement/cleaning needs the entire tank to be taken off just like the NS200.

            Thanks & Regards

I'm aware about the paddock stand. What is the price bracket for these? I did a quick search on web to find results which point to a cost of 5k+. Is it worth that money?

              Thanks!
If you are at Bangalore and looking for paddock stand, check out 6K Isle of a Man shop at Marathhalli. Bought one form them and it's really good. You get both spool holder and L brackets for swing arm. Simple solution will be using a jack, manual or a hydraulic one, below the swing arm to lift the bike.

1.5K is dead cheap for paddock stand. I enquired in some shops on JC Road and was not able to find it for that price anywhere. Do keep us posted if you come across a shop selling one for that price.

The engine does feel a bit jittery below and at 3000 rpm in any gear, and vibey at around 4-5.5k rpm otherwise a great package. Breaking is sharp and the lever responds well to the rider's inputs. Slipper clutch works like a charm. Wont feel a thing while downshifting. Did some rim stickering aswell.

Is there any chocking problem once you hit 90kmph?

                    Yes it is true.

The same has been explained by Bullet Baba on Dominar 400 group on facebook & later on Thrustzone.

                    I quote:

Dear comrades, today I am writing my observations about longterm servicing matter.
Oil Change: As we all know, the D400 is based on KTM 390 engine. This engine has a secondary mesh filter present on the bottom of the crankcase(apart from the primary mesh filter which is inside the drain bolt) present onthe crankcase. ( Not present in KTM/NS 200 engine) During oil change, thisfilter needs to be removed & cleaned.
Dominar has a different exhaust system than the Duke 390. It'sexhaust bend pipe runs downwards. But In Duke 390, the exhaust bend pipe runssideways, away from bottom area. Hence there is no need to remove the silencerin Duke 390. But in D400, the bend pipe obstructs the removal of this filter .So the fiber underbelly & exhaust bend pipe must be removed for a properprocedure of oil change.
Spark Plugs: Dominar has 3 spark plugs, of which cleaning thecenter plug will be difficult, because the tank must be removed to access it.Fuel Tank is an inner metal tank, covered by fiber panels on the outside.
One of the major area where D400 & Duke 390 differ is theengine head. Dominar head uses Single camshaft. Due to this, Dominar has to userocker arms to drive the valves, and the valve clearance are to be manuallyadjusted using feeler gauges.
Dominar uses 3 spark plugs to be more fuel efficient, for 3spark plugs to work, 3 ignition coils are present in the motorcycle, for whomto work in return, higher wattage alternator & stronger magnet are used inthe engine.
Duke uses Dual camshafts, single spark plug. Another importantdifference is that, the Duke uses SHIMS to maintain valve clearance. Thus thecamshafts directly drive the valves via SHIMS. Rocker arms are not present dueto this.
Air Filter: is located below the petrol tank. to access it,literally half of the bike must be stripped. Including side panels, both seats, tank panels, side shrouds, & then the tank shell itself.
Valve Clearance: The D400 has 4 valves, & the engine headaccess is located below the air filter box. To set the valve clearance, airfilter must be removed, along with rest of the parts mentioned above.
I feel Bajaj engineers could have done a better job duringR&D. Perhaps they never thought of "How to service thismotorcycle"
I am also afraid that majority of Bajaj mechanics would skipservicing few areas because they are difficult to operate or they might damagefew parts in the procedure. Home-servicing too is difficult, taking up lot oftime, patience & effort.

                    Thanks,
                    -
                    Bullet Baba

After got first service done, vibes are lesser and bike is smoother. Not sure if that is oil change or ecu update. Can now feel vibes on fuel tank which we not there earlier.

I din have choice to check bike before delivery. Requested many time's to have a look before taking delivery. Dealer ( KVR Motors ) assured me there wont be any problem. On the day of delivery they had planned as big event, almost 25 Dominar was given on same day. By the time i got delivery it was late evening, next day i found there was scratch on left crash guard and clutch lever. When i took the bike to dealer, sales guy said i must have crashed. After some arguments, service manager took the bike and replaced both items. I was bit pissed off as well surprised by the way they replaced this parts. May be it was the first lot, they din want customer to give bad remarks.

Attached photo is of Manual & Brochure ( I had read many customers din receive manual's in other city's)

Can any one update how is Helmet from Studds - Shiftier D1 Decor ???

                            Thanks.

Have you guys got User Manual before getting registration number ? My dealer says I would get user manual after registration number only.
