I can say only this....i have clocked 90+ so many times but didn't face any issue. Cruised on highway at 100 around. My ODO is 1050.
After 80 kmph bike is butter smooth.
There's no mention of the rider trying to hit the brakes/ABS, would have liked some input regarding this.
But yeah the damage to bike is nasty
Obviously he tried to hit the brakes I guess, thats a first reaction of any rider. I am concerned abt the the damage of engine casing.. Never seen that kind of damage.
Today filled the tank 3rd time, mileage remains abysmal, 11.56 liters for 207 kms., which is 18kmpl. I was hoping to get only 20+ since almost all my riding is in peak traffic.

Engine casings are made of soft aluminum, so it's not hard to find out why there is a gaping hole. Actually, if you'll observe closely, the right side crash guard took a pretty good hit. So, the crash guards hit right side first, then the momentum took over, crashing the engine side, in turn cracking the casing. This is normal for most bikes when the impact occurs on the engine side at a point. There have been cases even REs having holes in casing due to impacts. In a crash anything can go wrong and go to pieces.
I have seen people crash a bike and tell, is the quality of the bike so abysmal that the bike is damaged so much. It's exactly like when people see a person jumping from a 10-storey building and saying, why the hell did he die? Wasn't he supposed to fling glue from his wrist and save himself.

Initially i was getting that click sound too. But then i observed ...clutch was not fully engaged.
Engage the clutch lever fully and gear shifting will be smooth.
I have tried engaging clutch lever fully yet there is been a sound. If this is the case may be when I go for my service I shall ask the centre guys. Mostly by next week my 1st service would be due.

I guess every new bike from a known brand has to face criticism both positive as well as negative. Its our job as individual rational thinking people to give credence to what seems logical and ignore what doesnt.
Like mentioned by another senior member, no one can know what exactly happened in a crash, the trajectory of the bike, the position of the rider, the condition of the road, etc. Heck once I had fallen off my bike onto a road divider (some car owner forgot he was not in GTA and side swiped me) and when i recovered although I had fallen on the right side but when i got back home I saw that the headlight cowl had nasty scratches. How did that happen when the bike as per me fell totally on its right side and I was pinned between it and the divider? Cant say but it happened.
We can speculate all we want but we can never know what went down at that moment. In the same way the engineers can make sure certain standard stress points dont break (or break) in the eventuality of an accident but no one can predict every permutation. Not trying to defend Bajaj only but I remember the craze surrounding the Himalayan introductory video in which after a 3 ft jump the footpeg fell off and many made fun of the RE brand.
On a separate note, I hope the lady is ok, I have seen an older person mowed down by a bike and not survive. I know the report said that she was given first aid but then we never know, the focus of the article is clearly to point out the shoddy quality of the bike and not on the human element.

Perhaps the tyre pressure should be looked into. Im sure you know this, but lower than recommended tyre pressure does affect mileage quite a bit. Also try rotating the wheels while on main stand (if the bike has one) if it doesnt rotate freely then probably the brake pads are touching and causing the resistance. I know this is generic advice but since this has happened with me in the past so thought of recommending these checks.

That's too low.. Atleast 30-35kmpl must be satisfactory acceptable mileage from this range bikes.

You want 35 ps bike to return 30-35 kmpl mileage in peak traffic ? I guess 22-25 kmpl is good mileage, on highway anything around 30 kmpl is acceptable.

Hi, Got the delivery of the bike today its look awesome midnight blue colour non abs, booked on 15 dec, full amount paid on 27 jan. odometer reading 1km.
on road price Rs. 154554/-
did few modification:
1. highway blinker
2. extra led reflector on the side of the bike
3. rear reflector change to led refelector
4. new master cylinder for brake 5. converted cable clutch to hydraulic clutch with matching master cylinder as brake.
6, usb charger with battery volt meter.

Im curious as to what difference a hydraulic clutch makes, does the stock clutch on the dominar take noticeable effort to pull?
Tyre pressure is fine and bike doesn't have a main stand. Thx for advice though.
Is there a provision to fit a main stand like in the NS? Or is it not possible at all? I remember for the NS I had to purchase the main stand separately from Bajaj.

i think possibility of adding a main stand is tricky or not possible because there is catalyst converter underneath at the side stand
