Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
yes ,west and south mumbai cost is high. cant get the vehicle from thane or other places as you need proof of residence. congratulations on your new upcoming rideOriginally posted by codeXcitrate View PostSo the cost in Mumbai is 1.84L, whereas the same in for a Thane registration, is 1.76L, i reside at Mira-Road and that's what the D400 is coming for me on-road. The bifurcation i shall only be able to give you once i get the delivery which will take some time, as i booked it on the 1st of Feb.
Shall post an update once that happens, also i am visiting Suryoday Bajaj today evening to clear some of the queries that were raised here in respect to the PDI process, the ECU update, etc.

For folks who would need more clear insight into how a Dominar's headlamp works, here it is.
I would suggest you to rev it to 7k RPM during riding the bike with varying RPMs, this helps in bedding the engine better. Though it isn't detrimental to rev the bike for a few seconds to check vibes, try to avoid doing that on a frequent basis, it's just unnecessary wear and tear.Originally posted by cgassassin View Postone question need help is it okay that new engine to revved a little till 9.5 on idle just to check vibrations or the sound for few seconds.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Somewhat related, finally I have started seeing some Dominars on my city streets and all I have seen are white colour. Bike looks really big even when viewed from a distance. I have to say the Headlamps on feature definitely draws attention towards the bike. I saw in in my car's rear view mirror at 5 in the afternoon and the white lights made the presence felt even more.Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostThe truth has been told brother. I can confirm from my experience that AHO is almost useless in city limits. If the pedestrians and basically anyone blatantly ignores the big-ass vehicles in broad daylight while they squid their way around, why do we think they'll care about the puny headlights? No one cares to be honest. They'll still jump into your vehicle to cross the road.
On highways, it has been a life saver for me at least one though, so it has my vote.
Regards.
This is a really good looking bike, but yes I have to agree partly that within a few years with everyone having the AHO feature it will become distracting. The thing is the more you look at something, the more you get used to it. Guess that would defeat the ultimate purpose since people (read jaywalkers) will start ignoring it too.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thanks a lot buddy, i'm hoping Bajaj does not mess up the whole 1st time with them, very skeptical with the kind of feedback received here about the various dealerships, this guy from Suryoday seems promising, but again fingers crossed.Originally posted by cgassassin View Postyes ,west and south mumbai cost is high. cant get the vehicle from thane or other places as you need proof of residence. congratulations on your new upcoming ride
i was hoping if we could start a Mumbai Clan, if one is already not in action, and a WhatsApp group (as Santosh Vaza suggested) to discuss issues and get solutions quickly, regarding deals on accessories, mods, rides/trips, etc..i mean everything related 1st to the Dominar and then riding in general.
Guys let me know your thoughts as well as the rest, lets connect and take this forward. It's the beginning of a smooth journey, hoping and craving to rev it to the fullest - codeXcitrate

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I guess bikers loathe pedestrians but I pity them. No walking space in Mumbai and bikers often take up their pavements too. It's not easy to walk in Mumbai especially for senior citizens. I think we should all resist from driving on footpaths and should respect pedestrian crossings.Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostSomewhat related, finally I have started seeing some Dominars on my city streets and all I have seen are white colour.
