Offtopic, the new 390 is crazy fast and handles like a charm but it just doesn't give you the chills that my old 200 did, does not feel as aggressive and is definitely too quiet for my liking.
Optimus M & S variants, viatera fly does not fit in the new Duke 390. I have physically checked. Dirtscak KTM Racepack, I spoke to the Outdoor travel gear guy, he said it would fit but unless i try it cant comment

Manager in showroom told that ktm do not sell spare parts for new 390 yet.
They told four wheels were better then two.
        So, I bought another motorcycle!

Fortunately no price change for Duke, RC is more expensive, price increases yesterday, initial impressions, ride quality much superior as compared to my 2010 P220, bike is smooth, could not do much because of the restrictions of RPM, it's just jumps to 6K every time you open the throttle, didn't feel the heat, but could not ignore the Fan noise, it's loud, will update more as the riding experience builds but to start with its just awesome, love everything. Btw coming from P220, headlights can be better. It's done 62 km on the display shows consumption of 32/100 Kms, but surprisingly after the ride of 50 odd kms, distance to empty increased to 260 Kms while it was 250 at start, will learn to understand the analytics better, haven't paired the Bluetooth yet, but overall once again very smooth as compared to Duke 390 2013
Radiator FAN NOISE is not a major issue however KTM needs to fix it and polish one this rough edge on the new 2017 D390
          Ride HARD but Ride SAFE
          Cheers !!

Pretty sure there is, the dukes will have loads of low end power, the RC being track, will have more at high end than duke.. same engine, just different mapping and fuel delivery and all that..

let the bike clock a few more km, the rear bite will improve.. the pads need to wear out a little before it starts biting.

btw, i had a test ride of the new 390 earlier today i am impressed with what has been done to it. loved the throttle response, the refinement has definitely improved significantly over the prev gen (the exhaust probably plays a role in it). no buzz in the bars (i miss that) and that punch above 5000rpm ! it has probably a lost a bit of it's brashness and gained a bit of en'light'enment !

No complaints on the brakes from my end, spot on to my liking.
the on road price in Hyderabad is 2.61L

I thought they were using sinthered Pads and will not require much to wear for a better bite..mine is already 270kms in last 4 days , will try visiting service centre

yeah, heard that the pads don't need to be "run-in" as they are on top right from beginning...

the bike i test rode was a new bike (maybe brand new cos i saw them fit the rear view mirrors and the fuel tank was dry and they filled up fuel in front of me) , and i did not find any problem with the brakes. the rear is usually has less bite compared to the front. and whatever fancy pad it is, they need to bed in before performing optimally. and dont forget this bike comes with abs, so locking the rear is out of question unless you disable/change to sup moto mode.
without riding his bike, i cant say for sure if it indeed is an issue or just normal (some people do not know what to expect or how it normally is.. and end up confusing others and create 'issues' which in fact are non-issues)

I agree with you on that last point. I haven't ridden the new 390, but the rear brake setup is identical to that on my late 2015 390. I have always felt it to be vague and lacking in feel. Especially with the ABS on. It becomes more apparent when I ride a smaller and less aggressive machine like the P220 and that brake feels so much more progressive and powerful. But it is just a feeling issue. I don't know how scientific this is, but I tested out a theory I had buy turning off the ABS and braking hard with just the rear brake (on closed roads of course) and sure enough the bike stopped and also locked up the rear momentarily. It still felt vague, but it stopped. It probably is the front biased geometry at play here and the ABS simply doesn't allow the brake to function at its best or something due to the lack on weight on the rear while decelerating. But it would still be worth keeping an eye on for the next week or so I guess.
                              Must ride on!

Regarding the issue on the rear brake. My 2016 390 had very little feedback from the rear and on kicking it hard, would trigger the ABS. However on my new 2017 390, the rear brake has even lesser feedback and is much much harder to engage ABS on it. But I sort of prefer the newer braking.
