!!! Thumbs up !!! That was the perfect explanation.. Cheers to you broOriginally posted by achu View PostI own the ABS myself......so I can tell you without a doubt the following things
1. ABS is on by default on the bike. You can't change it , even if you switch it off and also switch off the bike, the next time the bike starts, it's ON.
2. ABS can be switched ON/OFF only when the bike is stationery, in the manual they say it's a safety thing.
3. The ABS light on the console is a warning light for example when we apply hand brake in cars or don't put on seat belt in certain cars, on the console it shows a warning to indicate it. It's the same concept here. It indicates/warns that the ABS is off when it is glowing.
4.Now the thing were it flickers or goes on and off continuously when we start the bike, when I asked the SVC guys they said it was the ABS system checking itself. It goes off only when the bike attains a speed of around 10 kmph. It will stay like that as long as we start the bike and keep it stationery.
Basically ABS is on when the light goes off and is off when the light glows.
Hope you understood
.....Njoy the bike bro!!!! Cheers!!!

Thanks for helping me ...

How often should i change oil filter
Hi Guys,
Last month when i was changing my oil, i asked the mechanic to change the oil filter as well.
The mechanic told that the threads are getting a bit rough so while tightening the OIL filter cover, he told that u don't need to change the oil filter on every oil change. He told that the oil filter can go till 10,000 kms.
Guys i have been changing the OIL filter each time the oil change.
Can anybody suggest me upto how many KMs oil filter in RTR180 can go ?EVERY MORTAL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN DESTINY

I would recommend replacing the oil filter during all the initial services. This practice can be extended to say, around 7000kms. After that, replacing the filter at alternate intervals would be enough. Likewise, after clocking 7000Kms on the odo, use of a semi-synth oil like Motul 5100 ester 4T 10W40 would be great. This oil would hold nice till 4500Kms. So, you would be changing the filter at around 10,000Kms.Originally posted by blazing180 View PostHi Guys,

Yup, it's not in ebaY now. But keep track, and you'll find it. Price i guess is 495INR. Be sure to pick 10W40 grade.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostCouldn't find any 5100 ester 10w40 in Motul homepage

Bro i have clocked 16,700Kms and not yet replaced the front disk pads. Still got more than enough bite upfront. And i use the front one's more than the rear! 70%, sort of.Originally posted by pcgamer View PostHey guys. I'm at 5.6k km and still haven't changed front disc brake pads. What's the cost of it?
We all know you have the new '12 RTR 180 ABS, so you don't have to always say thatOriginally posted by shahbaz63 View PostI am Confused about Perfect Gear shifting for new Bike ? (180 ABS)

Yes, but W40 is produced too. Check out the following link bro.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostThanks bro for the reply
The Motul website is showing 5100 4T oil but its 15w50
Amazon.com: Motul 5100 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil - 10W40 - Gallon 3081GAA: Automotive
You could try this dealer who AFAIK, is THE dealer of Motul in India
Enquiry Form | Atlantic Lubricants & Specialties Pvt. Ltd.
P.S. I've used it last year. Got it for 375INR from my dealer as it was from '08 stock. W40 is difficult to source here too. 15W50 is common as Pulsars need those and is of great demand. The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

I have bought the ABS version in first batch delivery last year and i must say it has saved me from atleast 3-4 incidents over the last year. the moment i feel that brake level jumping up on panic braking i know i was saved from a fishtailing. It is worth the 10K paid extra.Originally posted by achu View Postyh i knw what you mean bro....you can hear the tires screeching sometimes.....but the bike doesn't even flinch and comes to halt like it was goin at 60!!

But once I really felt that ABS can cause accident. we rode to muthathi from bangalore in three bikes, mine ABS and other two non-ABS 180s. In a curve + steep down there was gravel on the road and the guy in the 180 in front of me went off the road due to slipping and fell down. I was right behind him and thumped on the brakes. But to my horror, both front and rear levers started jerking off and i kept rolling towards him lying on the roadside. Finally managed to swerve round almost 5-6 inches off him and stopped another 10 meters away.
Ofcourse it was our fault to ride almost 40-50 on the hill range but it was the first steep curve and we missed the sudden steep down.
That was the day i hoped I didn't have abs. I would have preferred falling down on the street rather than ramming onto him!
Here I am, On the Road Again!
