Btw I have decided to buy CR8EIX - NGK iridium spark plug instead of CR7EIX which I bought last time.
The difference is CR8EIX is one level colder than CR7EIX.
So I hope it will work for me as most of time I'm riding in damn city traffic, also occasional long rides where I rip the bike a lot...
That skid costed me Rs140 & a huge dent in my friend's ego ..

Are you sure you want to play with the heat range of the plug?? It might lead to serious damage to the engine..

AFAIK the more you go towards cold range, the more chance for carbon deposit. While the more the heat range it leads engine problem.

Well you are also right that playing with heat range of spark plugs is not safe...
      As per the above link,
      • if the engine is to be operated at high RPM, under a heavy load, or at high temperatures for long periods a colder heat range may be needed.
      • Conversely, if the engine is to be operated at low speeds or at low temperatures for long periods, a hotter heat range might be needed to prevent fouling.

I just read some where that hero-zma uses CR8EIX..maybe thats because its a 220cc engine so might require to handle more heat...
But what made me think to go for that is, imagine when we are going for long rides & riding at constant high-speeds then colder-range might help us...
Anyway if no trips & for normal commuting then CR7EIX will be more than enough...

What are the indications for replacing con set?
My tappets are loose, con set gone(not sure though),too much dirt in disc pads causing irritating sound...
        Any pointers?
Also is the mounting points for tail of the new version apache same as old one?

The tappets can be adjusted easily. Take the bike to SVC, it will hardly take 20 min.
You can get a "Brake Cleaner" spray. Just spray it onto the disc & pad to remove dust ,dirt, brake pad dust etc.. You can try ABRO or STP, they are good and efficient.

Do we need to remove pads to clean it?Blowing it with air only made it worse..!
Also is your oil leak problem solved?

No no..It is Not required to remove the pad or anything..This spray is like some petrol based substance, it dissolves all the oil/grease stuck on the disc/pad & it flushes out all the dirt/mud/rust/muck from the pad-caliper area as well.. It is just like sparing Deodorant while going for some special occasion,so, use the spray quite generously..

I applied that Anabond 666T & the oil leak is very very minimal. But, I contacted TVS motors(directly to the company & not any dealer or any sub dealer of TVS) & reported the issue. I had attached the complete service history of my bike.. So, TVS motors had asked me to leave the vehicle in the same TVS SVC after a TVS official "inspected" the bike (& the SVC center as my "contact" through e-mail was treated as a compliant against the SVC & dealer) & the problem would be fixed.

If possible, just try to pressure wash or spray some diesel/kerosene to the pads & then clean the disc. If you go to SVC for tappet adjustment, then tell them to clean the pads by blowing pressurized air. This should fix the squeaking noise.

I am not sure how good bar end mirrors look on RTR but might surely improve the rear view visibility.

I have seen the pics of an older RTR having the tail of new version, but I am not sure of mounting points. Why dont you ask SVC guys themselves if it is possible?

NO need to change anything 'inside engine' until something is wrong...
You can change the fork fluid..check health of clutch plates, new plug, filter, carb cleaning, fuel filter and tank..think that will do..

Same problem occurred in my bike this monsoon. I just gave moderate pressure wash between pad and disc along with spinning the wheel in both direction turn by turn (spin direction - flow of water and disc must go in between pads in same direction) .

Noise was so much in rear wheel, so I cleaned it first then I found little noise in front wheel too, so the front wheel, on my surprise sound went off totally. So just give it a try first then if it fails try break cleaning fluid.

Also check the condition of piston rings. Head cleaning(decarb) is necessary now though.

Also here in Cuttack and Bhubaneshwar(RTR 180). The RTR logo on tank scoops are replaced by PCR.
