Guys, i'm planning to get a new RTR 180 in few weeks from now. After reading numerous reviews about Apache, one thing all reviews say in common is "pathetic TVS tires". So, i decided to change the OEM tires just out from the showroom.
I see everyone here suggesting MRF Zapper C or Zapper vyde. But, i don't see any of these MRF tires having 110/80-17" size. :S
So which tires u guys suggest? If you know, please tell me the price too.
Will the retailer take the TVS tires in return for a price? If so, how much i can expect? Has anyone here done this?

        Congrats on your new bike.

I use zapper C which comes in the stock size (110/80). It is available and it costs around 2k. The zapper vyde however is 120/80. It is also a direct fit for the 180. Our friend Adarsh uses the same tyre.

I think it would have been negligible. But, it's best if he himself could answer this query as I may be wrong.

Okies. Is adarsh in xBHP? If so, can you please quote him in your post?
Else, anyone who is using 120/80 in your Apache 180, please confirm if you see any difference in your ride?

                I am here mate

Firstly congrats on your new bike! And regarding tyre change, I dont think the TVS dealers would appreciate you changing it so they might not help you. I would suggest you to talk to a tyre store in advance & tell them you will be getting them a brand new TVS tyre in exchange & convince them for a good deal (I think a new TVS rear tyre 110/80-17 costs around 2k!). In case the store does tyre fitting too, then just ride the new bike there and get the tyre changed from them, show them ODO reading as proof

120/80-17 will make minor difference in acceleration, atleast it wasnt noticeable for me. Vyde is a decent tyre but @vivekgautams has bought MRF Revz (size 120/80-17) and he is very happy with it. So you consider that option too. But I think it would be better if you can get hold of Zapper C 110/80-17 since RTR rims arent really made for 120 size tyre. With 120, the tyre becomes more round and not as wide as it would be on say, Pulsar 220 (which is how the fit should be).

Anyways, just enjoy the new bike once you get it and dont worry much

                Ride safe...

                  Congrats..!!

I have covered 4k+ km on my MRF revz 120/80 17" & its good.. Not a single puncture.. But I found a nail in my tyre & has entered the tyre side ways(no loss of air)..The treads have not worn out a bit also..The tyre has good dry & wet grip and Better comfort..
There is no loss in the acceleration..Infact the bike does a higher speed than a 110/80 RTR at the same rpms & top end has increased by some 7-9 kmph.. My FE has also gone up as well.. The saddle height has increased as well..
Me & my friend went to search for a new rear tyre for his RTR today & here is what we found:-
                  1. A good MRF zapper is available in the 110/80 size.
                  2. MRF Vyde 120/80 is around INR2.5-2.6 K.
                  3.MRF Revz 120/80 is around INR 2.6-2.7 K.
                  4. Michelin Pilot Sporty has been released in a tyre size of 120/80 17" recently & costs INR 2.8-3 K. The pattern is similar as the familiar 90/90 front but the straight treads are not present & side treads run till the center..

If you want a good on road tyre. Go for the Michelin 120/80 or the Revz..Maybe the vyde also.. Or a good Off road tyre would be Ceat Vertigo or the new MRF Moto series..

If I had to buy a new set of tyres I would keep my options in the order of Michelin, revz & vyde..

Go to any Honda showroom and check where to get the ZAPPER C 110/80 tyre which comes with CB trigger or CB Dazzler. Hope they can help, or else check with them can they provide you the tyre.

I had the sensor and hecu replaced few months back under warranty. My bike's abs has failed again. Will be going to the bhandup svc next week.
I suggest you extend your warranty. I had extended my bike's warranty to 5yrs for just 750rs.
