Hey guyz i read the below information from facebook. Not sure about the validity part..Can anyone share some knowledge on the same:

"If you are not carrying license or vehicle papers and you are being challenged, don't pay the fine immediately , you will get a legal 15 days to show the papers. Your challan can get cancelled by showing the papers within 15 days of the challan date.

Its true, but as we are in India, you need to show uber confidence while saying this to the police.

thanks for the info buddy...But the problem here is as u said "The need to show uber confidence"...
Even if we show I really doubt whether police officers are aware of this...
Also I feel we need to get back to the same police or the police station of that locality to get the challan cancelled after showing the same..
Another headache here is some police guyz are themselves scoundrels that they wont allow us to take the bike unless paid..Else they will say leave the vehicle here & get it..
Also I heard that if you dont have money to pay at that time you can claim that you will pay later in court or whatever..so all you goto to do is get the challan from them...

Wanted to share my weird & funny encounter with TVS Megdooth SVC, B'lore..Here is how it unfolds:-

I took my bike to svc as I gave a complaint to TVS motors about an engine oil leak from the engine- engine head joint & TVS told me to leave the bike in the same SVC for 2-4 days( read as 2-4 weeks) & later the company would send an engineer to inspect the bike & get the issue fixed.

I made some free time & mentally got prepared to take the bus for the next 2-4 days. Went to SVC at 1030-1045 & called the service supervisor. (The important bit starts now )

          SVC guy: yes saar.?
me:- Engine oil is leaking from engine head.
SVC: why you drove for so many km without fixing it?
me: your manager told me the gasket of engine head is out of stock & asked me to come 3 weeks later.
SVC: Saar ,gasket is not required..! leave the bike for service & pick it up after 2 days.
(me thinking: thank God he did not tell 2 weeks(read as 2 month) BUT wait.. Gasket not required.??)
me: ooook (In state of shock) , I'l leave the bike tomorrow morning..

That morning has not yet come..
After this conversion I got a few doubts.. Do TVS use a gasket between the engine-engine head joint..?? Is this the condition of the "authorized service" every where or this svc is extra special..?? What should I do now? Leave the leak as it is or go to a independent mechanic & get a new gasket using Anabond 666T?

BTW a friend started using shell advanced ultra 10w40 FS & his bike too started leaking from the head, the same exact location where my bike leaks from.. He immediately shifted over to AX-7 & the leak also disappeared..

          The lesson learnt:-
          1. TVS uses normal technology & the SVC thinks they use alien technology (alien tech. to the mech. at-least )..
          2. Never go to TVS SVC after 4/5 th free service BUT go only for spares..
          3. Don't use Shell Advanced Ultra FS with stock gasket as it is very thin or absent after servicing the bike in TVS SVC..

Sorry for the supper long post.! Hoping the post would save the newbies from disastrous TVS SVC..

Hi friends. I need urgent help.
Took delivery of my rtr 180 2 weeks before. Having rear dusc screeching noise from day 3.
Went to the showroom from where I took my bike. Poor svc guy adjusted the brake lever and gave me back telling "problem is gone".

But it is always there and Sometimes when I am not even using the rear disc, little creecching sound is there.
Done 1st service with popular tvs svc in my city.
But still rear disc noise is there.
Anybody help me out with the following things.

            Rear disc noise
Metallic noise from doom(cant identify exact location)
Fork noise( a little noise while doing gentle push of forks. Not there while riding)..

            Waiting for replies..

Metallic noise or screeching noise from the disc indicates worn diac pads but as yours is a new bike it should not be the case. Ask the svc guys to open the caliper and check the pads, if required change them stating manufacturing defect else just rub it with sand paper and istall it back. Should be fine.
Forks are fine don't worry and regarding the noise coming from the dome, cannot be very sure. In my case, when I rode the rtr180 I was getting similar noise, later figured out it was from the key chain due to the vibey nature of the bike. In your case get it checked to find the exact cause.

                Hey guys..
A few week back My bike was facing uneven throttling & back firing(farting) sound from the carb. around 3-4k rpm & was not sustaining idle during 'wet n cold' starts. Here is the solution to that problem:-

                1. Cleaned the Race paper filter.(Did not fix the issue)
                2. Removed the spark plug & found rain water in the plug cap, wiped the cap dry..(Did not solve the issue)
                3. The plug was very black & I was not able to clean it, So,I found an old plug, broke both of the electrodes & made it into a "Surface discharge" plug (after going through the D.I.Y :- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...park-plug.html).
                4. Tuned the carb. for the right F/A mixture ratio..
                5. Warmed up the engine & took a test ride.. The bike was super smooth (in terms for throttle response, NOT the vibration ).

After all the above bike is running smooth, no sounds, no hiccups.. Did a full tank to test the FE & so far have done 480 km & with fuel for another 140km in main tank, in B'lore's prime time..

Adarsh BK , hope this was a decent description of the solution.

My bike is also leaking oil from the engine head, i am using TRU4 10w30 still now. Also my bike doesnt idle properly, during the start it does start with 1.25 rpm. after few kms run it just shoots upto 1.8. Engine overheating problem is still there, doesn't how to fix it.

^^ Btw, that's an RTR rev counter... nice work

                        @All

TVS tires has covered close to 23,000 kms. Not a single puncture till date and that i think is the major benefit of this tire along with decent grip on dry tarmac.

Now, grooves across the center of rear tyre has completely worn off. So changing asap.

Going to replace TVS tires with MRF Zapper FS for front and C for rear. My dealer does not have them in stock right now, so waiting.

                        Ride safe y'all.

                          hi friends,
i've an rtr 180 old model(2011) non ABS with odo 22k. i'm facing a different problem. when rolling
at 50 kmph speed if i close the throttle there is a blasting sound like bob bob. i've checked carburetor, TCI unit and ignition coil by interchanging them from my friends bike. i found that there are no problem with these components. any other guys having similar experience please help me on this. i'm waiting for your suggestions.

You may check the Throttle Position Switch/Sensor (TPS). A red box bolted on to the right side of the chassis. The fuel tank needs to be removed to access it. One end of the throttle cable is connected to the TPS. If a TPS is malfunctioning, incorrect signals (throttle input readings) will be send to the TCI, which would result in engine hiccups at low rpm's and a lot of exhaust popping when throttle rolled off (the sound you've mentioned). TPS can either be cleaned or replaced (which i think is better as it cost's within 200 INR). Get it done at a SVC.
