I used to ride at 100km per hour without any tension- meaning bike used to go smoothly; now when i ride above 90, it feels like i'm forcing the the bike to do which it doesn't want to do.

I changed the carburetor diaphragm 3 months back, could that have been spoiled? I'm so worried right now.
I was about to say diaphragm but since it is just 3 months old, it cant be the culprit. (Hope it is a genuine TVS spare since fake ones can cause a lot of problems, i myself have experienced it!).

Other things to be looked at are chain tension (might be too loose or too tight), a very dirty air filter and lastly worn out clutch plates. These are off the top of my head right now, others can suggest more .There are also other minor things like tyre pressure etc but I guess that is not the problem here.

I also remember you saying the bike moves to left/right when you let go of handlebars (due to misalignment), I hope that is fixed now.

Oh god please don't ask me, I will start crying. I took the bike to Tristar and Lokesh does nothing about it, mechanic Pandey says that they bike is like that only. I called them day before and said this time take the labour an make sure you correct the issue.
Dude who according to you is the best mechanic in Tristar ??
Every day-after, I think of selling the bike off, but when I'm sitting on a chair in office I'm waiting for the log out just to ride back home.

Hey chill man! These kind of things happen in all bikes

Btw Tristar is supposedly the most decent ASC in Bangalore AFAIK. I used to give my bike to Mr.Yadav for servicing but whenever I had anything to be fixed, I always tell the manager Mr.Murthy directly. He himself has a look and suggests the mech on what to do. I had the same bike moving left problem due to rear wheel alignment not being correct and it was rectified by them and all I did was tell Mr.Murthy about it. I would say give it a try with him when you have time. I dont know the names of any of the mechs there.

Regarding chain slack, just see if it has a play of around 3cms. Also if possible, check if the air filter is clean (Touch it and see if your fingers blacken or not ) If these two are clear, only thing I can think of is faulty clutch plate but what is the ODO reading?? How old is your bike?

        • How old is your bike? 20,000km and two years this april

cluth plates, yeah it could be. i think Kantu had a similar problem.

when you say alignment issue. How do you find out? When i rotate the front /rear tyre there doesn't appear any wobbling, thats tyre wobbling/rim bend right? What must i see to confirm if there is any alignment problem

Then it might be the culprit.

You can refer to this page http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...ess-chain.html
In that thread, he loosens the swingarm nut and you can see there are markings behind that nut. These indicate wheel alignment. Same number of markings should be visible on both right and left side swingarms. If the difference is more than one line (sometimes they neednt be exact), then there you go, problem found! (The thread is for P220 but the same applies for our bikes too.) Also if the wheel is misaligned, then a slight wobble should be noticeable but it is surprising that is not the case!

Their is no self adjusting spring .. Want to see how the chain tensioner work. Just remove the tensioner by opening side nuts. . Un screw the middle nut. and with the help of pin screw driver rotate the screw under that middle nut. U will see the tensioner will move up and down as you rotate it.

              • Based on the above link I look up for the number of lines. On the right side there are 7 and on right are 8. Isn't it a very little difference, the bike is tilting to left very much?

Right side there are 7 and on the right side 8.? Which is 7 and which is 8.?
And that could be the problem.

I'm suffering from absent mindedness, 7 on the left and 8 on the right.

Chill bro. 7 on the left and 8 on the right. Is that counting from the front side on the bike right.?
If so, then that is the problem..

                          • I have been using Veedol Super swift 10w40 SS for 800 kms now, the engine feels smoother and more responsive.I found it better than the Shell AX7.

You can try the Shell Ultra Fully Synthetic Engine Oil too. It has mellowed down the vibes on my bike. My say is go for it !

Lately, I've noticed, vibes have gone up at the handlebar(never were there before), and the handlebar wobbles between 55-65kmph, more so during deceleration. Both my disks make a loud squeaky noise when I use them. ABS works ok, not as precise as before. The feedback at the brakes isn't like it was before. More than anything I'm bothered by the wobble. ABS will take time, I've decided to ask once nicely and then shoot a mail to TVS. The wobble - what may be the cause? and the fix? And vibes?? Can I do anything to take them back to normal? (I'm not bothered by the vibes though!)
Wobbling problem is sometimes present in my bike too,but it vanishes when proper pressure air is kept in tires.
