How do you know that which oil is thick and which oil is thin? Care to share the tests that proved that your mentioned oils are thicker.
Regarding BOLD part : Make sure you know what you are typing that too in the ownership thread, I have taken it offensive
And before you jump to conclusions regarding engine oils, I would suggest you to go through the Engine Oils thread

Some offensive statements you are making.. Why dont you visit the engine oil thread and find me there. All your questions would be answered 'once' you read the engine oil thread.

Also, RTR is one of the roughest bike marketed presently. Lets start a poll on that too.

Lets copy a user opinion on RTR 180:
There's no reason why an RTR won't vibrate. It's in their genes..I think the bike vibrates the most in between 50-60kmph mark. It's easily noticeable even if you do not pay attention to it.The vibrations of the handlebar are simply intolerable in this range. As soon as the speed crosses the 48-50kmph mark vibrations peep in and then continues eating your brain till 65kmph.AFter that bike is a smooth operator but then who rides at these speeds in metros.
The main problem is that this(4-6k) is the most usable in the powerband for riding in cities and Apaches vibrate the most in this...thts's why the case of vibrations in RTRs is exaggerated...

Hey guys, after parking my bike yesterday, I turned off the bike using engine kill switch, but I forgot to turn the key to the OFF position and take out the key. The key was in the ON position from about 11AM to 9PM. (Safety isn't a problem as I park in a completely closed location) Would that have had a serious impact on the battery? BTW, I pushed the starter switch after that and it started immediately. The headlight too seems to work fine. So, should I be worried about the battery?

If everything is ok why are you so inclined towards worrying. Batteries are meant to get drained and recharge until somebody dont give a damn until it dies.

With the bike outof warranty, I dont think the higher authority would listen(I havnt tried, may be someone else can help you in this). But do try and show how serious the issue is.
What luck should i say. my bill for changing the block piston came to around 4500rs, I had met with Mr Anuj Singh who is the territory manager for mumbai who was there with me at Siddhivinayak motors the whole day till my bike was fixed. The mech said that my piston ki Oil Ring baith gayi hai, dont know what that means but when my bike was fixed the amount that i had to pay even if im not in under warranty was 1261rs which was for packing oil labour and all. This is the only reason i have always put my heart for tvs company for them customer is important. I did have long chats with Anuj regarding lack of service centers, bad Mechanics and quality, he said we are improving all the time. Lets hope for the best. All in all i can proudly say to all the 3 people in my life who have bought RTR because of me that there might be issues that you might face but the response from the company will be there that will be invaluable. Even if you dont like the service center guys get your services from them because you will atleast get proper response from the Tvs company as they will have details of the issues that your bike had and is having. Well i agree to their tag line One more reason to smile SERVICE ( not at the service centers but from the Territory manger and the tvs company itself )
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person u are.......

Done it numerous times, its better you should give people option(s) rather than just one name. There are many other brands better than your quoted Bajaj and my quoted TVS.

I guess you are confusing between the words "refined" and "vibes". Ride any bike at high revs and it will show you the same characteristics. And the same way you quoted someone's , just go through the last lines of both the paras again. I would not like to point out other desi brand here, but at least expecting that you should know how race-bred engines behave.
I, as a TVS owner dont want false info on "ownership thread". If you want to take out your anger on TVS's refinement and vibes, start new thread and constructive criticism is welcome.

Now you want me to correlate engine vibrations and engine refinement.. Here you go -

Type - engine refinement and vibrations in google and the first page you get is this - AutoZine Technical School - Engine

The first line on the page reads - "A refined engine should be smooth, free of vibration and quiet"

I am still not getting why the below post of mine offended you??

Next time you feel your battery is drained..Kick start the bike rather than using the electric start & leave the bike to idle for a bit more time than normal..

I wasn't going to go anywhere at that time. Just wanted to check if the battery was OK. So, I decided to do it the hard way But today morning when taking it out, I kickstarted as I usually do during cold starts and let it idle(at 2K RPM) for about 5 minutes instead of the regular 1-2 minutes I usually do. Thanks

BTW, I have a couple more problems to report, I'll type them tomorrow...

I am still using the TVS Tru4(crap) oil. I tried some other oils in the middle, but my mech recomended, its the best for the engine(Company doesnt recommend it for nothing). My bike is 48K old and perfectly stock. My recomendation- Use the company recommended oil for general day to day riding(max 100kms per day is enough). For longer rides, use semisynthetic(more viscous oil). And 'NO', the bike doesnt get any more smoother with thick oils. Its of no use in short ridings. Just waste of money.
