If you are running on F.S oil, then you can "feel" the engine heat on your legs.. & the bike being an air cooled engine, they tend to be hotter & cooling totally depends on the outside temp..

My bike was good till first 3 services. I have recently done the 4th service, 1 month back and from there the engine tends to overheat.
I can consntantly feel the heat on my both legs. Engine gets harsh, and the sound of the engine changes too. If i drive for nearly for an hour, the heat gets transmitted till the fuel tank, and i can feel the heat in my thighs.
If i switch off the bike after riding for an hour, i can see the more heat getting emitted from the engine. damn really hot. I never experience these things before.

I am using TVS TRU4 till now, i use to change it every 2000 kms.
I have checked the engine oil level, Air fuel Mixture (to somewhat richer), cleaned Air filter nothing helping. I even took the bike to SVC thrice, they say its fine.

Buddy, you are facing the typical traits of an air cooled engine.. Nothing to worry..!! Everything is normal.. All air cooled bike run hot & when parked/ running at low speed they tend to become hotter.. Every RTR emits heat to the legs & after extensive riding heat up the tank as well..

Guys, I got my bike serviced (12000 kms) recently (15/june) and replaced my brake pads and engine oil (castrol power 1). after the service my bike's acceleration has become amazing and the gear shifts have become a lot smoother and the screeching noise from the front disc has also gone. but some how i feel there is some roughness with uneven throttle response at 4-5k rpm after that the accelartion is butter smooth with lesser vibes.

plus today i have noticed that there is some noise coming from the bike dont know from where.....tried finding by giving full throttle putting her at rest.

the front suspension has become as soft as cookie dough

suggest me on the situation people

It is a symptom of both worn clutch plate and chain/sprocket set. I think the clutch plate is not completely worn out or the speed @ specific rpms & mileage will reduce even drastically. I am sure if you change these two, your bike will be as good as new!

When I got my new chain/sprocket set the speed increased by 1-2kmph at 5k rpm, mostly due to more efficient power transmission to rear wheel.

I bought the new clutch plates for ~600 bucks. I have still not yet changed the plates, waiting for the next service..
When do we actually need to change clutch plates?Mine is at 27k...Is it better to change it now or wait for it to go bad?

The clutch plate's life varies from bike to bike & biker to biker.. Get it changed when the clutch is gone OR when ever the engine is opened for any other reason(s)..

Thanks VIVEK. My doubt here is, why this has not happened before the last 3 services, and why i am suddenly experiencing the heat discharge from the engine after the 4th Service.

Any thing should i have to check to reduce the heat discharge from the engine, also share some tips to reduce the engine heat.

Planning to change the Motul 5100T 15w50. I have read the previous posts that it is not the idle engine for RTR.
How about Yamalube 15W50 which is used in FZ and R15, its the same Motul 15w50 but it is less denser than motul.

Also Can you recommend any good engine oils for RTR that can reduce the heat discharge.

Maybe they fiddled with your AFR mixture during the service ... A lean mixture would cause engine to heat up.. You felt any noticeable difference in acceleration or power delivery?? If yes then obviously it's your AFR mixture..

I'm not sure on how one can reduce the heat of an engine..
A friend works in the R&D of TVS & we were discussing that the cooling efficiency of the new RTR is terrible & that the engine runs hotter..
Without feeling/ riding your bike, I cannot give you any accurate solution.. I feel your bike is normal..Try & ride another RTR & just compare the heating..

I would recommend you to stick to the TRU4 or go for a S.S oil of a grade of 10W40.. You can go for Shell AX-7, I find shell oil is value for money & not a rip-off of cash.. Don't go for thicker oils ,they will make the engine sluggish.. I have read & heard F.S oil makes the engine hotter..so, I guess you must avoid F.S..

Exhaust popping while decelerating is due to rich air fuel mixture, right?
                      Mine does that these days..

I've noticed that the exhaust makes a popping sound only when the engine is cold & while deceleration.. It has to be with a rich A/F & improper combustion,so, maybe the spark plug not sparking properly..

Does the A160 and A180 share parts like mirrors, brake pedals, levers?
Anyone has any idea about how much does a pair of mirrors cost?
Some crazy idiot has stolen my bike's right rear view mirror and it feels like I have only one eye now. It is nearly impossible for me to ride my bike without rear view mirrors, yup, on both the sides. I have a Pulsar 150 but want to get the Apache mirror set as I find them awesomely handsome and nice.
