Re: Apache RTR 180 Bike issue
Thanks mate. Yup the tires are front profile. Never compromise on those things for the sake of looks.Originally posted by krish2778 View Post
Looks good. As the R15 tires are low profile and the diameter would have decreased, the top speed must have increased a bit. and Speed at each RPM must have taken a toll?Originally posted by albyjose View PostLast edited by sambit; 05-30-2013, 10:34 PM.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Re: Apache RTR 180 Bike issue
No idea about topspeed..no roads anywhere in the vicinity I can reach even close to top speed. The recorded top speed is just 106kmph.I am yet to test the top end!Originally posted by sambit View Post

Yeah, the gearing seems to be slightly shorter, especially the first gear which was already short. But nothing serious.
I will test and post exactly how much difference."Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Re: Apache RTR 180 Bike issue
Hi all,
Just popped in here from the Fiero thread (I own a 9 year old one). Wanted to ask the experts here a quick question...
I'm aware that the ABS on the A180 can be switched on and off. Could someone confirm if the ABS is for both wheels or for only the one upfront?
Thanks in advance.Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

Ah, yes. That sounds logical. Just wanted to confirm the same. Thanks. If any more relevant info, then please do share.Originally posted by evyavan View PostFor both wheels. The ABS wont be effective otherwise.Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

You can get the new "safety" number plates from any number plate sticker center. Ask them for Safety plates. They will get it for you.

Of-course, braking capability will affect tire life to a great extend.Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostNever knew that tyre life depends on availability of rear disc brakes , and lets not discuss "sane" riding (driver is for cars)
And just for your info, I am still running on TVS stock tyres at 35k kms. We all know how long the TVS tyres go and what are its negatives.
You can check your friends bikes with & without disk brake models
"Driver" .... I am sorry for the "word"

I had used TVS tires only for my old Victor. It was stock tires & I hadn't changed till I sold out (I couldn't remember the mileage)
Some doubt, will ABS come with EBD?Originally posted by evyavan View PostFor both wheels. The ABS wont be effective otherwise.
or only ABS?Last edited by spknair; 06-02-2013, 01:08 AM.I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!

Looking for R15 v1 rear tyre..can't find.
Any better options at size:100/80/17?Don't want to upsize.I think you didn't see the quoted post from Alby.Originally posted by spknair View PostOf-course, braking capability will affect tire life to a great extend.

Anyways, about ABS and EBD. I think they are coupled so that more breaking power is distributed to front than rear to prevent rear tire from locking up. Though coupling them is more efficient on cars, I suspect EBD is employed in ABS system in bikes too.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Anybody here running on 55/60 halogen head lamp on AC setup?
Just found out that we can do it by removing pilot and no plate lamps..no need of dc conversion.
Can Philips Xtreme Power 50/60 fitted in rtr 180?
Also what kind of halogen does rtr run?"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Stock RTR 180 has a H4 35W halogen bulb.. You can can replace it with a H4 bulb of any rating BUT just confirm if DC conversion & "relay" is required..Originally posted by albyjose View PostCan hilips Xtreme Power 50/60 fitted in rtr 180?
