If you are looking for stunts and drag races this will be good enough due to reduced weight.Originally posted by arjunv212 View PostHere it is..

Bro I saw this one in DFG's pg in FB and as far as I recall its quoted 1.2k in their website...
But is it really worth for the normal commuting & touring that too in night.
It doesn't feel like good reflectors & I feel the light throw wont be good enough. I maybe wrong.
But again these things are personal choice.
I like more meaty stuffs say something like double doom...
But again I will go for it only if it aids the night riding view.
I saw the pics of Truimph bikes to be launched in India....Those double dooms looks good..kind of insect eyes...

@susheelkumar : Yes they suit more to stunt riding, even agree that throw wont be that good. Still I would love to have one *stubborn me*
Just got a quote from the same place from where I got my current setup. He is saying Rs1860 + labour. I have asked another shop whether they could arrange one or not and the price, to give me an idea.
Now looking for good bulb for this, staying away from projectors now.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

vishnu.leo : Ya..it kinda looks good in flesh if a proper stickering is done on its visor..
dead_piper : Sorry mate...I don't have its side view right now....
susheelkumar : The light throw is poor...my friend has one fitted it with P220's 55W projector...But I am confused in buying that from him because my ride is running on AC Setup
and don't know whether the projector can work with my stock lamp...
prateek2210 :1800 is a bit more...its 1.2k here i guess(not sure). Also do check its light throw before buying... Btw can you enquire with your mechanic my above problem(using the 220's projector without DC convertion and HIDs)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
You need to convert to complete DC before the change. Stocks are 35w...So for 55w stuff the first in your checklist card should be DC conversion, change batteries if old (preferable buy Amaron as it lasts longOriginally posted by arjunv212 View Post@vishnu.leo : Ya..it kinda looks good in flesh if a proper stickering is done on its visor..

), then do the projector installation...Those mechanics will say it will work and all but what actually happens is your battery will dry out in 6 months(tentative) and God knows maybe you will be riding in dark night situation where suddenly your lights go off... So for peace of mind do the DC conversion and then do the rest.

Hello, I am new to xbhp. I bought my rtr 180 on 30th Oct, 540kms have been completed till now and I would be going for my first service this weekend. I am planning to use motul 3000 4t 20W40 or you guys have any better options? As I use my bike more for commuting.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hey xbhpian, read some old posts regarding engine oil. Helped me a lot to select a quality product. Will stick to shell advance ax5 10w40 or motul 3000 4t 20w40.
Thank you.

Go with the TVS oil for atleast 5k km in odo.
After that, think about changing. TVS oil is enough for normal commuting.
And remember keep the lower grade almost the same. The TVS oil is 10w30. So dont go for 20w40.
You can go for 10w40 series. Shell AX7 is of the 10w40 range and is also semi-synthetic.
But still I would suggest not to go for it unless you cross atleast 5k~7k in odo.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Yeah, I know its just my first service, but its my first bike so I wanna stick to the best products for my bike. I was asking for the best mineral oil for rtr 180 because for now my heats up very soon and I do around 40 kms a day. Maybe its a new engine that's why I am facing this problem. I don't want to use tvs stock oilOriginally posted by susheelkumar View PostDude..relax..Its your first service...Give it some time to adjust to the rough world...

Susheel, thank you for the suggestion of 10W40 series. I will stick to this series with mineral oil of shell or motul.Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostAnd remember keep the lower grade almost the same. The TVS oil is 10w30. So dont go for 20w40.

TVS Oils nowadays are semi-synthetic and not mineral oils.Originally posted by FortySeven-47 View PostSusheel, thank you for the suggestion of 10W40 series. I will stick to this series with mineral oil of shell or motul.

Similarily the one I suggested Shell AX7 10w40 is also semi-synthetic.
I dont know why TVS stopped using mineral oils for bikes.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

TVS oil being semi-synthetic is not a thick oil like any other SS oil, so why not stick to mineral oil of a good brand which will be as better as TVS SS oil.
what are your suggestions on this, Susheel?

I think there is something wrong in the way you are posting in the forum. I mean its always happening 2 times.Originally posted by FortySeven-47 View PostTVS oil being semi-synthetic is not a thick oil like any other SS oil, so why not stick to mineral oil of a good brand which will be as better as TVS SS oil.

See whats going wrong and remove the multiple quotes.
Anyway regarding your query I haven't tried any other mineral oil other than TVS oil.
I used TVS oil for 10k in the odo after which I started using Shell AX7 10w40.
Right now the current odo reading is 28k.
When I bought my bike back in 2010, TVS was using mineral oil.
Now they too started providing Semi-synthetic oils.
I have seen Shell AX5 mineral oil , but not sure whether its 900ml or 1Litre.
For our bikes we require 1L. So keep that in mind while you buy any other mineral oil.
Bike getting heated in traffic situation is normal. If its really more than other RTR bikes then tell the same to SVC.
Moreover its a new engine. It take time to settle. For now you keep going with this.
Check after first service. If problem persists then have a check with SVC guyz.Last edited by susheelkumar; 11-29-2013, 03:07 PM.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont know whats wrong with the reply thing? anyways, Shell and Motul come in a ltr pack and my friend an Xbhpian said its normal about the bike getting heated very fast as its a new engine. he too was facing this issue till 3k kms. Maybe i am taking somethings very seriously which should be ignored.
I dont like TVS SVC and Showroom (Innovative TVS, Bhandup, Mumbai) but as a brand i love TVS.
their service S***s and they troubled me enough when buying my bike.
