D 390 will heat you up in Cities more then CBR 250, both bike isnt as comfortable or convinient as RTR is in city but "kuch paane k liye kuch khona bhi padta hai"

Re: Apache RTR 180 ABS gear shift lever and rear brake pedal position adjustment...
Hey guyz which rear tire is better for RTR 160 hyperedge. Im looking for 100/90-18"
1. Michellin Sirac
2. Ceat Vertigo Sport
3. MRF Meteor M, Meteor, and MotoD
I have heard Ceat is bit heavy on the sprockets and so you will have to change it sooner.
All the above tires are all-terrain tires. Among them which is the best in wet conditions?
I will be using mostly fro city riding and probably a ride every 1~3 months.---------------------------------------------------------------------------
With great power comes great responsibility...

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I guess there is no one as confused as me on what to upgrade next though I am in no hurry as of nowOriginally posted by sambit View PostYou guys, thinking of upgrading from your RTR, let me tell you my experience. The only perfect Upgrade of an RTR is a Ninja. Absolute NO NO to CBR. You are going to miss the awesum handling and the bass beat in CBR. Else, Duke 390 would be a worthy upgrade. But After riding the Ninja, I should say, it satisfies we, RTR lovers to the fullest.
I have my RTR along with the CBR, hence no issue for me....
Should it be D390 (the 390 thread here scares me though!) or the upcoming R25 (Not tourer friendly) or the upcoming RC390 or even the Inazuma provided it is priced right (a different league all together, focused on comfort than performance) or wait for Triumph 250
Atleast N300 is not in picture because of the moolah needed
And CBR250 is not in list because I would opt for ABS variant which is priced too close to 390!

Me in the same boat
I'm going through the exact same thoughts/options, though not in a hurry... just like you.
Ride Safe Y'all.Last edited by Rtrlover83; 12-17-2013, 07:53 PM.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Another major confusion I have is, whether to sell the RTR or keep it
If I buy a bike like R25 or RC390, I cant park it anywhere in Blore like I do with RTR now, it will simply gather too much attention. In that, D390 (already common in Blore) and Inazuma (Poor thing has been blasted for bad looks from its first released pic!) scores more points
Anyways, let me not corrupt this thread now, this should belong to 'What Bike' section
EDIT : Many might already know this but pressing the Pass switch in low beam (not high beam) switches on both low and high beam! This works brilliantly on highways. I guess there wont be any harm in using it occasionally. It will almost be like a 70W headlamp

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Let's wait for the 2014 Auto Expo and see. I'm sick of riding my dad's Dream Yuga. I would love to buy a 250cc TVS (with ABS), but sadly, it doesn't exist yet :-(Originally posted by Rahul.g View PostIf only guys at TVS would listen and launch the big daddy of apaches ASAP.
They have been talking about a 250 cc for years but dont know when they will finally launch it

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
The wife and the Mistress....
.....
Both are seriously different in Character..... One is faithful, doesnt Demand much, I know it wont let me down ever.... Other is a lot more Demanding, but satisfies me to extreme.
One is the best company while Socializing(City riding), while the other is too much fun when alone(Highways).
Just cant live without either of them.....HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

There's no reason to get an old model which will get superseded in just 6-7 months.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
It will take quite a while for a new Apache. The one resulting from BMW-TVS tie up is scheduled for 2015 and I dont think they would launch any other higher cc bike before that (if at all they have oneOriginally posted by warfareonly View PostI guess I'll never get to ride an Apache then

) which will be pointless as it will be replaced in 2015!
I would say, you can buy the current RTR esp the ABS variant.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Yes, I could, but it would be a compromise. I'm in First year engineering, so this'll be my bike for at least 4 years and I'm not particularly fond of its looks. If I'm going to compromise anyways, I might as well stick with my dad's bike right now and buy the one which I want two years later.Originally posted by Adarsh_Bk View PostIt will take quite a while for a new Apache. I'm also looking at the 200 Duke, but it doesn't have ABS. Rather, I'm looking mostly at the Duke, because I love naked bikes! For some reason, I simply can't stand any kind of fairing!
