My bike is almost reaching 30K km.. I'm getting a slight "ticking" sound from the engine, when the engine heats up..I'v got the Tappets adjusted & the Time chain adjusted & I changed the Time chain adjuster as well.. My mechanic tells me that the time chain's time is up & requires replacement.. Has any one faced a similar issue.? & how much would the chain cost?

    Cheers...!!

Im also planning to change the time chain probably this saturday when I give my bike for service. The reason because I feel that is one thing why I get less mileage because rest every stuff I have changed or resolved. I believe it will cost around 465/-.

Well then I suggest time to change your time chain because I read somewhere that once you cross 20k in odo its time to check how good is your time chain & if not good enough they suggest to change it. Also have a look at your tappets.

Hello guys, I am getting vibrations when I break on my bike. Only 740kms done. Can you guys let me know what's the issue? This started happening after my first service.

Hey ranju567, if elf moto4 was that good then why did you use it just once? No offense buddy, just want to know about it.

Bro, that "ticking" sound comes only from 3-4k rpm range only & after that range there is no sound at all...If the time chain is worn out is in't supposed to make the sound at all rmps? Why is it behaving like this??

Bro my main concern was its availability i got this oil in guwahati city but since im posted in an area called tinsukia where it is not available,,dealers says that ELF & MOTUL supply is very rare so i went with castrol power1. You may try elf once and believe me bro you wont regret at all..

fault seemed to be of the rubber that was with the bar end weight. got loose and stuck inside.. got it removed somehow and put the stock one back. Btw i hate pulsar bar-ends.
You misunderstood me.I thought the threads inside the handle bar was gone kaput. In that case you need not buy the pulsar's bar end weights, but buy the nut which is fixed inside the handle for pulsars bar end weight. Then after welding in the nut,we can screw in the RTR's bar end weight easily.

Replaced and bled the front brake fluid. For the rear brake, just replaced the master cylinder brake fluid as I was not able to open the bleeder screw. Now all the sponginess is gone and phenomenal apache braking is back!

In manual it is said to use 40 grade oil.Earlier TVS and hero oil was of 40 grade, now the trend is to shift to lower grade which is 30.I think the main reason is that it might improve FE.Still I experienced hotter engine, false neutral more in 30 grade TVS oil more than I get from 40 grade mineral oil.I believe lesser wear and tear occur with 40 grade too. That being said,I am going to try TVS oil next just to see the difference in FE.

Thats really strange yaar. I suggest you to put the bike in center stand and then check this.
There are 2 things that come in my mind.
                        1. It might be the normal chains, I mean might have got dried up..clean & lubricate it and then check again...
                        2. If it is still time chain issue, the sound may not be audible in higher range due to engine noice/ normal vibration.
To know that you need to check it by putting in center stand & try to identify if the sound still persists.

The same mileage issue is my problem...I was getting 45 if i ride kind of bit insane & 50 if i ride sanely...Now riding completely sanely im getting 41kmpl.
I have tried most of the things and now time chain is the only left.
Mileage drop can happen due to following things:
                        1. Old Spark plugs
                        2. Air filter unclean
                        3. Carb issue
                        4. clutch worn out issue
                        5. carb diaphragm (if diaphragm is gone u need to apply more throttle to get the same speed which in turn effects the FE)
                        6. TPS switch issue
                        7. Time chain worn out
                        8. Tappets settings gone wrong
                        9. Improper Tuning
                        10. Riding style
                        11. Traffic conditions
                        12. Surroundings (if completely dusty it will effect air filter, TPS etc)
                        13. Chain sprocket set

Please correct me if Im wrong.

                          30 & 40 Grades doesn't affect Mileage !!! its the Viscosity classification.

Thanks for help . I have changed spark plug around 15-20k kms back . I have serviced it around one month back with tappets tighted and normal service at ASC . Should i change spark plug ? What are tappet ratio for A150 ?

I change spark plugs every 15k kms. If you areusing NGK IX series then also dont ride with the same above 20k.
                              It will effect the FE.
Regarding tappet ratio, I have no idea.
