Battery is fine buddy it's just two months old! Not the air filter because i changed it last week! As you said it might be the electricals. I'll get all the electricals checked today. Thanks buddy!

Console going off : That means the ignition went off for few moments, thus resulting in the loss of acceleration.
Phat sound : That means unburn gases came out, can be because of either rich or lean mixture.

This phat sound can be also because of ignition konking off and coming back in seconds.
People here make that "bullet" sound by switching on-off the ignition while holding the throttle, resulting in the sound of "phat phat"

First get the ignition switch checked and then the wiring.
Yeah I'll get the ignition switch and wiring checked today.
        Thanks a lot mate!

You can get the same profile as the current one in Mrf (110/80-17) or choose a 120/80-17.

If I choose 120/80 wat is the impact on bike performance since the default size is 110/80

Nothing much. Just a little bigger tyres that's all. You should not feel any difference. Since it's one level bigger you might have to keep checking the chain sprockets every 500 km and get it lubricated and tightened.

                          Hello everyone,

I have a two week old "beast"... I have done 250 km so far. The bike seems fine, but I hear a rattling splendour-ish sound (dont know if that is the right word) from the engine at speeds below 40kmph. The sound disappears after I cross 40-42kmph...The sound reduced from annoying to bearable now..the SVC guy says it may be the tappets and that almost all new bikes are like that and things will be ironed out after the first service. So is it okay, or should I get something fixed? Any suggestions? The exhaust note seems to be fine though.

Sorry if the question seems silly as this is my first bike.

PS: I have not crossed 50 as the bike is still in run-in.

I am assuming it's the case of low speed and high gear probably. But I still didn't understand the splendour-ish sound. I can't figure out anything.

Given the fact that it's a brand new bike, there should be no issues as you can always get it sorted out of warranty. I dont think it's the tappet sound. New bikes don't need any tappet adjustment as far as I know. Tappet is kept a little loose only for bikes whose engine have been overhauled or rebored. So watch out before believing anything the svc says.

                              Thanks for your reply.

I said splendour-ish because that was my first impression when I heard it. It sounded like a stressed old cd-100 or splendour engine. I mean a hollow rattling noise. The sound was pretty annoying for the first 80-100 km, but things are getting better or may be I got used to it.

The SVC guy took it for a test ride and said it was normal for new bikes to be like that. May be I will visit the service centre again tomorrow. My cousin has a 2 year old 160 which we used to use together and never faced such issues.
