^^^i have ridden at those kinda speeds on the NICE road,nut i dont hink for 2 hours straight.there 90% of the times i was at 105-110 km/h.i have got 37 kmpl in those speeds that too with a pillion. btw can apache apcahe sonstantly cruise at 110 km/h for 2 hours straight on an afternon without overheating??

I'm a victim of this.. well, last year it happened to me. A week old oil change (300V) vanished into thin air... well, went below minimum level and thus caused the first engine trouble will my bike. After year of trying this and that etc, now I'm using Valvoline semi synthetic. And Nishanth, 300V is no doubt a good one
But it has the above-mentioned problem with the "desi" harsh engines without any logic though.

@Drifty: There is a needle in the Carb, I mean the one which is attached to the Carbeuretor Diaphram Rubber. There are 3 steps in which the needle can be adjusted what are the for.? My needle was adjusted to the top step when i fitted my K&N and i had starting problems. I manually opened the carb and brought it back to stock settings now my bike starts without any problem.

Yes,its the jet needle you are refering to and the 3 adjustable steps is the tapering on the needle head..The needle is held in by a clip or needle holder. This needle holder has a spring that retains the needle but still allows for it to move. When the slide raises the needle does too. As the needle raises more fuel is allowed to be sucked out through the main jet.The taper of the needle controls how much fuel is allowed to pass through the main jet at any given slide height. When the slide is at the lowest point no fuel can pass. When the slide is all the way at the top (at full throttle) the needle allows as much fuel to pass as the main can flow.But this will lead to flooding of engine sometimes hence the bike may not start because the spark plug is wet with fuel.
For stock setting,the clip is set at the middle taper.
@PSR Sir:Here are some pics of the carb diaphragm.The part whitish layer is clearly visible.The pitting marks are not visible in the pics though.
Is it OK to apply a light coat of thin 2T oil over the valve for smooth functioning of it?
EDIT:Any reviews about Motul 5100T 10W40 oil?How it performs compared to Shell AX-7?I am gonna trying this oil in a few days.Last edited by Drifty; 02-01-2012, 07:05 PM.

@Drifty: Thanks for the detailed info.
I have mine in the middle step now. It took me hell lot of time to put the two screws holding the needle back in place.
One more question: I feel my chain is slipping when i release the clutch. The chain seems to be tight enough. Is it due to the sprockets?
I have 19500 on the ODO and not changed my Sprockets still.
