  • need urgent help

    guys today after servicing my bike from Hero moto SVC when i was on my way back i saw that FI malfunctioning light started blinking so i took it back to SVC..

    those guys know nothing about it & tried to convince me that it blinks when you have less fuel in fuel tank, but i knew that its causing cuz of that sensor..so i asked them to check it again..they told me that the guy who service ZMR went back so i'll have to come tomorrow..

    now the thing what i want to know is what could be the problem?? one thing i noticed is it happens specially when i turn my bike's headlight ON..after i turn my bike's headlight ON it starts blinking within few meters & then no matter if i keep its headlight on or off..

    my bike has done just over 17,100kms..if anybody else faced any issue like this then help me regarding this..

    • OMG!!! every one here seems to have one or other problem .I too had one and my 2 months old bike and its engine had to be stripped to core to fix the issue.Here are photos which illustrate my problem:

      My bike had neutral light problem,Some times even when the bike is in neutral , the light do not lit.In the below pic(taken on 2nd day of purchase after bike puja ) the bike is in neutral and even engine is at its idle rpm but the light didn't glow.





      Had to really struggle with SVC guys to convince them that the bike had problem as their usual response was "the bike is new and needs some running.This problem will get fixed automatically ". After 2 months of purchase and running 2k odd kms finally made my mind to get it done.Went to SVC on last to last saturday,Had a lengthy argument with the service head and he was stuck to his point stating that the problem is not continuous but occurs only few times.He also said that problem is with my gear changing pattern!!! not with the bike.Finally concluded with asking him to have test ride of my bike me sitting as his pillion.Then he agreed that it does has issue.

      Asked me to give the bike next monday(last week's) morning but gave him on last wednesday due to heavy work at office. They kept the bike till saturday doing nothing expect stealing the karizma sticker on the left crowl near back turn indicator . With my anger at peak due to no work done and stolen sticker,blasted the service center head and called the customer care number printed on the banner at the SVC it self to which the manager told not to worry he would give the replacement of sticker free of cost and my bike would get repaired on that day itself.

      Now the de-assembling of my bike started, The technician removed fairing, to which i thought it was normal,Disconnected the Fi to which I thought no issues,Disconnected the Radiator to which i was like .He removed the petrol tank and then removed entire engine and kept aside to which i said to my self what the hell and asked him whats going on and is this really necessary to remove the entire just to fix the neutral light!!! to which the technician's response was "i have to open ur engine and keep every part aside". OMG!!! i said to my self.I never knew that entire engine had to be deassembled! if even i was given a hint i would have lived with that small bug in my bike rather completely dismantling it. Here are the pics of my dismantled bike.



      And Engine taken apart!



      Then the de assembly of engine started.The Pic stating the level to which it is stripped!




      Finally found the culprit:The neutral patti(as per the service guy)



      the Neutral sensor,The right one is defective and the left one is new!



      The procurement of these tiny spares took nearly half a day for SVC guys and they arranged them from other SVC's at Hyderabad.Finally bike got re assembled and happy that the problem vanished.

      Regarding the stolen Karizma logo the manager told that he had worked to his best to find a logo but they were not at all available in their stores and at other SVC's too.SO he had given in written that he would be arranging a logo for me within 15 days as my bike is due for 2nd service at 2500kms and would take me 15 days to cover next 500kms else he would replace entire cowl with new one! to which i agreed and have to wait and see what that person would come with at next service .

            I request you to go though the PGM-Fi manual posted by Mzee_Maverik to find the problem as per the blinking pattern.

              check the nature of fault by its blinking pattern. the pgm-fi sv manual link is in my signature.
              speed thrills but kills if you dont have skills

                I was facing problem of refinement/smoothness bike not able to pickup...after lot of arguments with SVC and written to HM...they changed Camshaft, pistons..and other parts...in warranty...

                Although i feel the refinement is still a problem in my ZMR...but not as much as it was earlier...

                fuel adulteration is petrol pump mixes some other oil into a petrol...result in malfunction in bikes/car...

                May be your ZMR Fi sensor near to spark plug is loose...as you come up with service, so may be it is loose...

                Write an email (complaint) to HM...about SVC service...

                        • Guys I plan to change the rear tyre of my ZMR to Michelin Sirac or any other tyre of equivalent size like 120/90 - 18. Just want to confirm whether there would be any alterations required to be done on the bike besides the chain cover. Will a 120/90 - 18 tyre be a direct fit if the chain cover is cut or removed?

                            May be need to cut chain cover...not sure...other members who has changed can throw a light on this....
