Wireless Networking is catching on, so is Linux...Sun Solaris had become a rarity ...Similarly .Net and Java are fast growing, and a certification in Linux+.Net+Java will give you a better job opening opportunity.. Oracle is another Platform which is in demand in Financial Management circles

Since I trust ZMR speedo very much, I have question. Can someone please tell me what is the engine speed at XXXkmph? Particularly top speed. I hit 137kmph once on my zma. Just wondering how much I was really doing. Engine speed was above 9k rpm.

Yesterday went to another SVC for the bike issue of missing and engine getting off....they said injector shall be cleaned and during ride they said clutch plates need replacement....No issue with fuel pump or other parts...

Afterwards visit the SVC where i used to get regualr service...they agree with clutch plates need replacement as for missing no clue why issue has reappear...and how to sort out...

Still working on the design with cardboard(s) to decide the best shape and size.

I need your help here. I have thought that the following stuff would be needed.

                    1. 5 mm thick polycarbonate sheet/plexi glass - 24x12 inches - 3 sheets for experiments + final version.
                    2. Washers, nuts and bolts.
                    3. Drilling machine. (Don't have, any alternatives ?)
                    4. Oven to heat the sheet. (Don't have, would do it on my stove. Possible ?)
                    5. Some material like a large tin can/bucket to get the round shape.

I have been reading various DIY threads - ADV, TBHP and xbhp. There's one right here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...indscreen.html

Am I proceeding correctly? I intend to get the final screen within a month (if all goes well).

I think first design a sample; since it may look odd on bike afterwards....

                        1. Am not sure that without a good heating source you will be able to get ur desired effect using 5mm poly. I would suggest you try out with a 3mm sheet, if ur design has vents then strength for this thickness won't be a problem

                        2. Use rubber or plastic washers to prevent direct damage to the screen

                        3. If you absolutely can't source a drill then you van use an ice prick by heating it, works life hot knife through butter

                        4. I really don't recommend a stove as u cant assure even heating. If possible u should try using a heat gun or otherwise even a good hairdryer could do the job.

                        5. You could use a bucket or also you could use a metal pole. If the pole os upright all I got to do is keep the sheet behind it and start pulling it towards you. For shaping run it left and right. I have tried this method earlier and it worked great due to the easy mobility.

All the best. Hope I was of some help

Sorry bro, saw your post late. Top speed on ZMR is 127 kmph speedo indicated. I have done 125 kmph at max and my mobile GPS showed 124 kmph. But, both might have certain errors though! This was done alongside a Duke 200 which also has a near perfect speedo. It was probably showing 127ish.

I feel ZMA has a typical 10-12% speedo error because I remember having seen a pic on ZMA thread showing a guy doing 140!
BTW, ZMR does 16 kmph per 1k RPM in top gear. Now, do the math.

Trying to replace the stock screen??

                            1. The thicker ones won't do good and it would be difficult to cut through it..

                            2. washers, nuts and bolts? I don't need to tell you.. you know this better than me.. use rubber bushes or cycle tube parts

                            3. depends upon where you wanna put the hole.. if on the fiber, then you can go ahead and heat up a screw driver on stove and once it is hot enough.. you can just push through and make a hole.. Precautions are needed..

                            4. Heat guns/ Hair Dryer would do the job.. but might not be too effective but effective enough to do the needful.. stoves I am not sure of..

                            5. don't you have any metal kitchen cylindrical boxes or a circular plate?? that could do the job.. but a bucket would do if you want a bigger size..

Sounds like a good idea.. let me know the feedback of it..

Ya, washers would be rubber, but bolts would have to be metal right?
The idea came up after seeing custom screen for Duke 200. Also, it was done long back on a P220 as well. Moreover, there is close to nil protection with the current screen at speeds above 80.

Yeah bolts would have to be metal. Something struck me now. Rather than using conventional nut and bolt, use revets. Rivets provide better support and much lower damage to the inner lining of the hole
